I did a search on security and haven't come up with much in terms of personal security when using the forums. Has anyone posted protocols for secure browsing/posting? What security techniques do the mods suggest? I am wondering specifically about VPN, IP-proxy, and encryption. Thanks

VPN/TOR/PROXY will mask your IP.
This is only useful if you don't want your ISP (and potentially LE) to know where you're hanging out.
However this does not mean your ISP, doesn't know WHAT you're doing, since 99% of VPN/PROXY providers do not encrypt the traffic, your ISP could still inspect packages

Eroid server is located outside US jurisdiction and uses encrypted filesystems to store user data. That means all your ip logs, posts pics and database queries are stored in a encrypted container. While any encryption can be broken with enough brute force, it's secure enough for the modern hardware to take a few years to decrypt...

exactly what I was looking for, thanks. The only problem I have with TOR is that the servers are ridiculously slow.
