+ 2 Who makes their own stimulant free preworkout?

ad

What ingredients and dosages do people put in their own stim free preworkout?

My schedule has changed and I’m finding myself training later and later in the evenings and I’m looking for an extra little kick on the big lift days. Caffeine is a no go as I can’t drink it past 10am otherwise it keeps me away awake night and it can also give me anxiety. 75% of the stim free pre’s are full of sugar and other crap, the other 25% are above £1.50 per serving which isn’t breaking the bank but I’m sure I can achieve the same effect making my own for a fraction of the cost.

So far I was thinking of adding:

Beta-alanine
citrulline
arginine
Taurine

Blended in beetroot juice.

I already get pumped up listen to music, eating the right diet, watching lifting videos and planning my next blast.

I think you got a solid mix there...that's basically what I use:
Beta-Alanine
Citrulline
Arginine
Beetroot Juice

This doesn't really give me much stim... but certainly allows me work hard for longer duration.

Well I cheated. Went to buy a couple of the powders from Bulkpowders and they had a 50% sale on.

I went with their caffeine free preworkout to save time and effort.

Nothing crazy in the ingredients. I’ve used it twice on leg day. It’s as you would have expect but was a nice little pick me up.

Branched Chain Amino Acids (3:1:1) 5g, Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate (AAKG) 3g, Citrulline Malate 3g, Beta Alanine 3g, Creatine Monohydrate 3g, Choline Bitartrate 700mg, Electrolytes 500mg, Vitamin B6 25mg.

I ran some SD injectable/Tren base earlier this week for a preworkout which was fucking brilliant - not for the faint of heart.

I still have to try this baking soda trick to see if it works. I'll buy some tonight from Asda - that's if there's any left Lol

Tell me bud - I was reading an interesting article the other day that said one of the best compounds for repairing injuries involving tendons and cartilage is IGF 1 as it plays such a key role in regenerating these area's. Hence why trenbolone works so well. Do you tend to agree on the IGF 1 part?

I’m going to have to look into bee pollen no surprise the stuff looks like natures multivitamin

If anyone is keeping track so far I’ve got these in no order:

6g - Citrulline
5g - Taurine
3g - Beta-Alanine
Pitch - niacin
5g - l-arginine
3g - Acetyl-L-carnitine
Throw some Sucralose for added sweetness.

Any ideas now to get it tasting like fruit punch or blue raz with 0 calories?

I’ll stick with the most usable ones to start with and build it from there trying each new compound by itself to gauge the effect.

Added separately

Electrolytes
Preworkout food 45 minutes before: rice pudding

Mix it with Crystal light ...or sugar free koolaid which has artificial sweetener or just buy koolaid packets mix with splenda water and supps ..bam tastes like what ever flavor they make...also the crystal light has individual serving packs so it would be really easy also both companies make liquid concentrates you just add a few drops to water very convenient

Citruline is way better than l arginine, ditch that and use Vaso 6 or Glycerine for pumps (Vaso 6 is the mother of pump).
Btw Cartitine in oral form is not very much effective (search for its absorption rate) is way better in injectable form (and pretty cheap to buy).
Use Palatinose!!
Buy a Bolero of those flavours (0Kcal) and mix it with cold water and the supps.

GrowMore's picture

Vaso 6 looks decent but for the cost I could buy a life time supply of another powder. Building my own pre isn’t only to save money and be efficient but I’d enjoy playing chemist.

I’ve looked into palatinose but my preworkout meal covers me for carbs so it’s an unneeded cost.

I’ll check out the bolero.

Thanks for the heads up, a quick google states what you say also; they both do similar things and citrulline being the better out of the 2

Dbol has my nipples more puffier than a scared puffer fish.

Try Tren base if you want to start a one man war in the gym. Add some halo if you want to add even more fuel to the fire

Taurine is a stimulant? I take it to offset pumps from orals at like 8G a day and never got anything from it other than less painful back pumps

Darkhorse777's picture

I think its supposed to give you more mental focus

I heard that it stimulates the brain but by doing so it regulates the brain waves to decrease the anxiety a lot of people get from stimulants. So it’s kinda like a stimulant that has a net relaxation effect. Reminds me of nicotine since it’s a stimulant but it feels relaxing

press1's picture

I find it's a relaxant also - I got some years back to combat back pumps in squats but although it worked for that reason, it then killed my desire and motivation for the rest of the workout. I think its more of a gimmick than anything as it goes with 'Red Bull' advertising with it resembling a Taurus bull Lol

I read about what you all were saying about it helping with pumps and gave it a try since I get debilitating cramps on leg days. If you can walk after leg day you're not doing it right lol. Now I take a cap before I workout and no more cramps. Still can’t walk but at least I won’t cramp up

DfromPhilly's picture

Yea I always see it in energy drinks and stuff but I thought it’s just so they can say theres more shit in there... maybe I’m a non responder.

ashop's picture

I question the amounts used in those energy drinks.

GrowMore's picture

I’m a ultra high responder you stimulants (from what I gather from my experience compared to others) and I can take 5g of taurine before bed with no problem.

Yes, I probably should have had a different title but most members caught my drift.

Yes or that doesn’t keep you awake at night.

I looked into baking soda when I was getting acid reflux a while back, I stopped looking into it further when I saw the possible side effects of regular usage although I didn’t see dosages etc which caused the sides.

L-theanine seems interesting, perhaps take when looking to relax also

A little sea salt, ALCAR, citrulline and arginine to get you going..

GrowMore's picture

Electrolytes for salt etc. I’ll look into Alcar, it does a completely different job than the others. Cheers

I have too much energy... and never sleep. I need exhaust myself thoroughly everyday or I’m like a caged animal with energy

I wish I had that problem. Family life, demanding job and everything can take its toll on occasion

That stack would get me buzzing ha! 6 citrlline seems the standard and I’ll go with that. I’m not a fan of creatine, I know it’s cheap but doesn’t it put extra stress on the kidneys? 5mg cialis E3D for the gains

Banana is a lifesaver. My legs cramp up so bad the only way down the stairs is on my face

GrowMore's picture

Agree mate, a banana with salt is a brilliant pre. I ditched it for electrolytes and rice pudding as they’re easier to store bulk amounts.

Vitamin b6 and vitamin b12. Add in some niacin. Best stim free pwo. Used to take that at night and had tons of energy. The niacin also increases blood flow but don't overdo it. If you do your skin feels like it's on fire.

GrowMore's picture

Niacin with flush is mental stuff. I’ve taken it to lower my cholesterol but couldn’t handle it even after a few weeks on a low dose. They’re caps so I may 1/4 the powder and throw it into the mix. It would improve all the other compounds also I would imagine. Nice add

GrowMore's picture

5g of citrulline will be added, stuff sounds fun. I’ve taken it in various other blends but I’ll try it by itself first to gauge what it’s really like.

two Krispy Creme Donuts and a bottle of water.

or really any form of easily digestible carbohydrates.

I don't really go in for the N.O. mixtures , I feel like they exhaust me quicker . I thought about trying the beet powder though.

GrowMore's picture

A tin of rice pudding 45 minutes before is what I usually eat, I’ve seen the powder form of beet root and wanted to give it a spin. Beetroot juice is top notch, a member here recommended me beetroot juice while I was training for a boxing event.
