First cycle - running prop

ad

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a bit of direction, as I am currently on my first cycle. I do have friends with experience, and have been going based on their advice, however the thing is not everyone always says the same thing.

So, right or wrong, I was told to start on a prop cycle (I am only running test at the moment). After I started, I read that I should have started on a slow ester for my first time, but then I lee reading that test is test, and it just comes down to preference.

I am currently on my 5th week, and am pinning 1ml every second day of a 100mg/ml prop (so about 350/wk). I started off at 172 and am currently at 181.

Recently, somoene I know (a trainer won experience, who I trust) told me that I should switch to a T300, pinning 100ml 2x a week, add EQ and Npp. This seemed like a lot to me..

I want to maximize my time on this stuff, but did not want to go balls out.. My question now is, am I ok finishing the cycle on prop? the trainer told me that I would be burning out my receptors by sticking to prop, which will make it harder to maintain my gains once I am done. The receptor part didn't make sense to me, as I understand that all androgens bind the same receptor.. Is that true?

I have what I need for PCT, however I was planning a 16 week cycle on prop. For the record, I was pinning 50mg every 2 days for the first week, before moving up to 100mg (I was really nervous at the beginning). I do want to go on record as saying that I like the feeling and I like be results so far.

Should I stay on course? Make changes? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So how is this your 1st cycle when this is what you said and I quote:

"So, right or wrong, I was told to start on a prop cycle (I am only running test at the moment)."

What do you mean by that statement? because that will change EVERYTHING.

Shamu's picture

I am running test prop @ 350mg/wk, nothing else.

I actually did a cycle on Turinabol about 3-4 years ago though.

Most importantly, how should I breakdown my diet to maximize the next 3 weeks? I've been eating very clean, but perhaps my macro breakdown is off
12% body fat, 181lbs.
I've gained just about 10lbs since starting

MedDx's picture

Calculate your BMR. Query Harris Benedict Equation. I used 195lbs for your weight.

1951.35 cal to maintain your weight.
3024.59 cal with activity (1.55 at 4 days/wk)

300/300/120-(pro/cho/fat)-daily macros

If you follow those numbers above plus 500-800 additional daily calories, you could keep 8-10 lbs..maybe...you might just keep 5lbs after PCT..but if you continue this plan after PCT and increase the calories based off your gains...you will be ahead of the game for your next cycle....like.i always say...Rome wasnt built in a day...

Shamu's picture

I know I am probably pushing my luck here, but any chance you have a sample diet with that amount of macros?

Here's what I ate today, tell me if I did better:

7am - 1/2 Cup Vanilla Greek Yogurt + 1/2 Cup Granola
8:30am - Training
10:00am - 45g Iso Whey + Gatorade
11am - 4 Egg whites + 2 whole eggs + 2 slices multi grain toast + half avocado + tomato
1pm - whole chicken breast in a wrap, with olives, artichokes, lettuce + Sweet potato
5pm - Whole chicken breast + 2 slices turkey bacon + 2 slices whole grain toast
8:30pm - Rib steak + Sweet potato + asparagus

Thanks again for the help.

I actually just stumbled on this meal plan...could this work?
http://www.themuscleprogram.com/meal-plans/3500-calorie-meal-plan/

Shamu's picture

Thanks for taking the time to work this out for me.
I actually just ran the exercise as well, at got the same numbers.

I should be consuming around 3580 calories a day, if I want gains. (correct?)

My breakdown (from the nutrition part of this site) looks to be:

237.6g Protein
180 g Fat
252.618 Carb

Does this look right?

Use the macros MedDx gave you.

MedDx's picture

Agreed...thx Smile

Makwa's picture

Good info and you HAVE to track your macros, otherwise forget about it.

Body type and metabolism play a major role along with lifting regimen...so there are many factors to consider in addition to calories and macros...let us see your food intake and give us an idea about your body type (ecto, endo, meso) and metabolism....

With the body types you can be a mix...so keep that in mind.... Smile

Post your goal.....mass or cut...other members will respond.....sounds like you want some mass...i will pm you bro...accept the fr

Great, thanks.

I am a mix of Endomorphic and Mesomorphic (I think). I've never been fat, but i have been 'skinny fat'.
I train normally in the am, and a standard day would look like this food wise:

  1. 7 -8am : 30g Iso protein + Almond milk + fruit + 1/3 cup oatmeal

  2. 8-9am : Get to the gym

  3. 10:30 : 30-45g iso + Gatorade

  4. 12:00pm : 1 chicken breast (or salmon or steak eye) + white rice + steamed brocoli

  5. 3:30-4pm : Same as above

6: 6pm : Quest protein bar

7: 7:30pm : similar to #4

8: 10pm : Greek yogurt (vanilla) + Granola

You need to eat real food, and a lot more of it. Start tracking your food intake. I can't write no protein powder because I'll get lazy on cooking.

I switch up my meals daily. It can get boring fast. Today, I have eaten the following so far:

36g Bacon Low Sodium
200g Organic Eggs
28g Colby Cheese
40g Oats

28g Whey Protein

I'm currently cooking 16oz of chicken and another 40g of oats. I'll workout after, then have another 28g protein shake.

Protein powder everywhere. You're relying on supplements way too much. Probably 100-120g of protein from actual food.

Stats
Age: 34
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 180lbs
BF:

Post your body fat in your stats. Research the esters of acetate, propionate, enanthate and cypionate...along with phenyl propionate, decanoate and undecylenate. You have to know what the half-life is regarding each of these esters, how they cleave, and how your body reacts to them. Everybody aromatizes differently.

Good to have you here. Your trainer's advice is incorrect and he is not a professional certified trainer if he recommended a first time stack of aas like that. Just kill him with kindess and ignore any aas advice he gives you.

Welcome to Eroids... Smile

Thanks for your feedback, it is definitely appreciated.
I'll be reading up on all you've suggested throughout the day.

I do have a few more questions though:

1- is a prob cycle always suggested at max 8 weeks (if not leading or tapering) regardless of how many cycles you've done?

2- if pin site soreness is no longer an issue, can I keep going? I rotate between both glutes and both quads. What started as excruciating pain which kicked in 25-26 hours after injection, is now barely noticeable.

3- A friend of mine who prides himself on reading the science behind everything, told me: The reason they say prop should be not as long as enth or cyp is because it kicks in right away where other two take 3-4 weeks until your blood is saturated at stable levels. And the recommended time is 12 weeks. All that said the longer you are on the longer your balls are turned off and the harder it can be to restart them. With a good PCT you will be fine.

MedDx's picture

I am sure your freind would enjoy being here on Eroids...and yes, it takes frequent injections of prop to maintain steady blood levels... Smile

No. The advice that is given in your forum regarding the administration of TP, is the advice you should follow. If you want to have long cycles, then use long esters...dont try reinventing the wheel with AAS. Smile

There is nothing written in stone that says you have to use prop a certain amount of time. But, there comes a time when risks vs benefits of using AAS needs to be evaluated.

If you want to work with a compound like TP, then there comes a time when the injections and esters could raise your WBC count indicating infection...theoretically speaking..

Shamu's picture

Thanks for the feedback.
So, everyone here is comfortable with an 8 week prop cycle, for my first cycle?
Is my dosage ok - 350mg/week?

What is the reason that you all suggest a shorter prop cycle than if it was a long ester?

Should I move on to PCT after 8 weeks, or change to a longer ester?

The EOD was harsh at first. Nearly turned me off from the whole thing.

My body fat is 12% btw

MedDx's picture

Since you are at 5 wks, all we can do is guide you thru the rest of the cycle. If you can maximize this short ester cycle and keep 10 lbs you will be lucky, but your calories and macros will have had to be spot on...and this certainly depends on your goals...mass vs
cut...
Prop is good for kickers and tapers at 3-4 weeks, while waiting for longer test base esters, like cyp and enan, levels to stabilize and/or drop. The stabilization of long ester test takes about 5-6 weeks. This is why blood work around 5-6 week is important.

What is the reason that you all suggest a shorter prop cycle than if it was a long ester?

Because of the half-life of short esters vs long esters, for one. Second, is pinning frequency and rotation of injection spots, which increase with length of time if using a shorter ester.

Makwa's picture

For a prop run I would end it after 8 weeks.
Also don't forget to punch that trainer in the nose. Sounds like a real dumb ass.

MedDx's picture

X2...

Dacky's picture

^^^^^^^ This. Only difference is I would have gone for the trainers balls. Oh wait this idiot probably doesn't have any because of the stupid cycles he probably runs :-P You're already 5 weeks in so are clearly handing the EOD pinning. No point in changing esters now and test only for a first cycle.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Smh... I give up. 16 week prop cycle.

Shamu's picture

I am going based on what I have been told.
I will gladly stop earlier, or switch it up.
What is the RIGHT thing to do?

MedDx's picture

You have been given some great advice by the members in this forum. Run your prop to 8 weeks...about 3-4 days after the last prop injection start your PCT. Then, when your PCT is completed, wait 6 weeks and get bloodwork....you will want a female hormone panel that consists of FSH and LH, along with testosterone and estrogen, CBC W/diff, CMP.
FR sent...

Muffins's picture

Yep, with prop, don't go past eight weeks. There is no need to add anything more.

What is your body fat?

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Ok, you've already been on what 5 weeks I'd stop after 6 weeks then PCT. normal prop run is 6-8 weeks. I would take the time to read on this site about first cycles. Adding more compounds is not a good idea either.
