Can your body absorb more protein in a single serving on cycle?
ad
Been trying to learn more about diet and being on cycle. I know protein synthesis is increased while on cycle so your body absorbs and utilizes more protein.
Does this mean your body can absorb more of it in a single serving? IE lets say off cycle your body cannot absorb more than 50g of protein at once but while on cycle it could utilize 75g in one meal or shake?
I know some people tell me that off cycle doing a 50g protein drink can be a waste because your body wont utilize it all.
Ps: I wasn't sure where to post this question. If it is in the wrong section my apologies. I really want to obtain more knowledge so I can pack on some mass.

QUESTION.......
What would fill an empty glass the fastest?.. a dripping tap? or a slow steady running tap?
ANSWER..........
The slow and steady tap (common sense tells us that)...... so boys and girls this is why we preach the constant steady flow of proteins/aminos throughout the day with slow digesting casein at night because we really do not know when those Anabolic windows open, so! ,,,we need to ensure we keep that steady flow going by taking moderate amounts of easy assimilated proteins/aminos constantly throughout the 24 hour period to feed those receptors when they start to throw out their hooks..... its like fishing in a way, i would rather throw my hook into a feeding frenzy than an empty sea,... are you getting what i am meaning here guys?
^^^^^^^^awesome! Yes sir! There needs to be a stream of proteins/nutrients passing through our body 24/7. Stream dries up, body catabolizes muscle tissue...absolutely what we don't want. Keep your body firin off happy hooking proteins left and right at its decided pleasure!
I'd rather take in more protein than the body can absorb than too little.
No marter what the argument, I think it really does come down to that. You gotta structure your macros such that you get an EXCESS of protein, with a carb/fat profile that suits your goals and current activity.
Not all protein is created equal. Beef can take up to 24 hrs to fully digest, chicken 4-6hrs, fish about 2. Not everyone's body can fully absorb 50g of protein at one sitting. It really depends on your body weight and other factors.
On or off cycle:
Liquid protein does not stay in the digestive tract long enough to be fully digested.
Best to get your protein from food. Your body can absorb nearly all of the protein you eat. Whatever your muscles don't use will be converted to energy.
The maximum rate that whey protein can be absorbed is about 8-10 grams per hour.
It takes one and a half hours for a whey protein shake to pass through the section of the gut that can actually absorb it. So a whey shake will yield about 15 grams of absorbed protein.
So no matter how much whey you dump in that shake you will only ingest about 15 grams of protein. Now the good news:
Digestive enzymes (added by quality makers of whey protein drinks) can increase the absorption rate by up to 125%

Should have filled out your stats.
I suggest you reread my statement (mostly about liquid protein) and reread your linked article.
Spend some time looking at his graph. There is no conflict. I'll stand by my statement.
Good read though.
And fill out your stats: https://www.eroids.com/user/28498/edit/Personal%20Information
Thank you sir
bigmak1That's a great link, cheers for posting bro.
Interesting information. I assume gold standard whey by optimum has this? I usually go for a protein whey with lactase.
They do.
But to clarify a bit. Protein doesn't just absorb all at once anyway. Its more of a trickle effect. Slamming 50g of protein is a waste whether on or off gear. VITAMIN-V will tell you to sip your shakes, not chug it. "Slow drip" protein intake = better absorption of nutrients. And if there's anyone here that you need to listen to, it's without question V. Gear just enhances the synthesis of proteins into muscle fiber, it doesn't change your body's physiological ability to absorb nutrients in the gut. Hope that helps bro.
Broscience.
Put up some legit stats or we'll handle it ol' skool
On it. Sorry boss.
