I'm going to have to have surgery aventionally but any good advice on leg workout an some good rehabilitation would be helpful!

I appreciate it I'm going to just rest an try to get this surgery lined up so I can get back to a 100%. It sucks but it's better to be safe an get it fixed so I dont do some permanent damage. Thanks for the advice

These boys below have you covered.

I don't know why, but when we're young (as men) we tend to not understand, "ONE DAY I WILL BE 30 YEARS OLD. THEN 40. THEN OLDER AND OLDER, POSSIBLY 90+."

Leanfitness, your profile says you're 32, so you now understand that one day you'll be 40. Then 50. You get it. So please listen to the men below.

To you young men reading this, please listen to us. YOU NEED YOUR BODY FOR YOUR WHOLE LIFE, AND YOU WILL STILL NEED YOUR BODY TO NOT BE FUCKING BROKEN WHEN YOU'RE 60 AND BEYOND.

Again, to the young men, if you'll listen to just a little advice from us older dudes (I'm 41 as I type) then we can help you tremendously when you find yourselves in our shoes.

  • Brush you teeth. They're really, really important.
  • Get good sleep.
  • Stick to eating meat & veggies as your primary food.
  • Rest from the gym when you get injured.
  • Take care of your mental, emotional, and spiritual health.
  • Drink less, party more. When it's time, quit, for the night, for awhile, forever, quit.
  • Don't be a damn coward when it comes to chasing a dream.

And men, listen to ol's Zeus on this one. The biggest key to living a good life:
- Pick the right woman.

I'd say the same advice to any of you who are gay, I'd just change the gender. I guess, "pick the right sweetie" is more universal to all peeps, but as a married man with two kiddos, I can tell you that having the right woman is the key to everything. Don't get me wrong, she's still a woman, she drives me nuts! I know I drive her nuts too. Can't help it. We're men. We drive them nuts. It's what we do. They're women, and they return the favor. It's ok, cuz we're better together. Lads, pick the right sweetie, and everything else falls into place.

I know I just went off topic, so I'll get back on topic to end this rant.

Leanfitness, get a doc's opinion and get the damn thing fixed. You'll wake up at 41 years old in less than a decade and you'll be grateful that you haven't had to use crutches for that decade, not to mention that you'd need crutches for all the decades to follow.

No judgement, just positive mojo to encourage you to make your strength and mobility a priority. Setbacks happen. They suck. As we say in rugby: rest, recover, return. Get fixed, rest up and heal, then get your ass back in the gym. Your 41 year old self thanks you, I promise.

I would stick to Doc’s recommendations only at this point, no need to experiment, gym would be the last thing on my mind.

Man go get it fixed. My personal experience tearing my MCL I tried "pushing thru it" and formed scar tissue which made it worse. After surgery physical rehab was longer and that was in my 20's. Now if I did it-----straight to the Doc no questions asked. Health is wealth. Be smart and be good to yourself.

Go have surgery. Without an acl you risk dislocation and nerve damage that can cause them to amputate it. Quit being a dumbass

If anyone has ever had some injury any advice on it would be appreciated

I'd avoid all gym activity on that knee and only
Do physical therapy if directed by your primary.
A buddy of mine tore his at a jujitsu tournament and had surgery, after his knee was good as new.
It would be best just to get this taken care of sooner then later so you can continue lifting.

I appreciate it man I know surgery is going to put me out of work a little while but I know it has to be done I appreciate the advice

I think you need medical evaluation and tests on it so you don't do further damage! You can end up doing more harm than good if you experiment.

You should see a Doc, but at least go to a physical therapist, who will prolly tell you to see a doc anyway.

Well have a buddy of mine also told me that u wanna avoid surgery on it if u can he tore his but I was not going to go to the gym to destroy my knee I was just wanting to know if there's any good advice on some leg workouts were I could still stay in shape. I know I can't put pressure on it
