Questions about Reta, ozempic, others
ad
My wife is considering taking one of those weight loss shots. She is on antidepressants/Physc meds and I keep hearing all different things about these shots. It messes with people's heads, it messes with libido, and causes stomach issues. I'll read articles from all different sources but I figured I'd come to the forums where people actually use the weight loss shots and see what everyone has to say and or thinks about these shots. Are they good or bad and or worth it or not?

Reta is king, start low, titrate up and she will be fine. Me and my parents run reta anywhere between 0.5mg-4mg of reta and haven't delt with negative mental side effects. Goodluck brotha!
I am currently on an SSRI and was in a deep depression last year. Gained a shit ton of weight due to alcoholism and not working out anymore. Turned to ozempic to help lose the weight. I got a prescription for the ozempic and was told to up the dose every month, the sides got too bad I couldnt deal with it and stopped.
Currently on reta at 2mg/wk split to two doses. It has been working better than ozempic for me and I can actually get my protein goal, whereas the ozempic made me not eat anything at anypoint in the day. I have no experience with Tirz but have family members who are on it and they have no issues with it except they eat very minimal. That being said, my sleep has suffered a bit recently, not sure if it is the reta. My resting heart rate is about 10-20 bpm higher than before I started and have had to quit caffeine entirely.
I’ve used Reta from 1mg to 5mg a week and triz up to 8 mg a week. The results are better with Reta and I don’t feel as lethargic as I did on triz, but one thing I’ve noticed is I’m mentally flat. I heard somebody describe it as your mind just being gray all the time, and I didn’t have that on triz. That’s pretty much the only downside for me and I don’t know how common the mental side effects but it maybe something to keep in mind if she is on antidepressants.
I started reta back in April. I can still eat but definitely feel zero joy doing so. I have also quit drinking alcohol and THC since starting. It was weird, it wasn't something I thought about, I just kinda stopped. I do feel a little more emotionally flat. It's weird, just feel like my emotions are there but toned down.
Having said all that, I love reta. It's so easy to eat the same thing everyday and to walk away from garbage food.
I've taken reta, and enjoyed it for the most part. I have found though that if I take it too high for too long it feels like it kills my ability to feel joy. Whatever you guys decide, low and slow is the best bet with anything.
My girl is currently on Reta and she loves it. She’s not on any meds anymore but she does have BPD so she was worried how it would potentially mix with dopamine receptors and such. She’s been using for a few months now and honestly I think it’s helped more than anything! As Mr Shredski mentioned below, food hasn’t been as rewarding but she’s craved more healthy and whole foods, I think the shift in food cravings and weight loss have helped her feel better than any other meds she was previously on.
Hope your wife responds great if she decides to try it out!
Ive been on and off reta for years for cutting phases. I sell it as well to friends and family. Ive never had libido problems but I am on gear year round. It also helped me quit nicotine and it improved my insulin sensitivity. The only time I had stomach problems was the first time I ever did it i took 10mg. Had bad cramps and couldn’t eat as much a a crumb without throwing up. Titrate your dose correctly and dont be an idiot and its a super powerful tool.
DM me if you have any specific questions.
I absolutely love Reta and what it’s done for my mental health
Reta doesn’t just make you eat less it changes how your brain responds to food. It activates receptors in the brain that regulate hunger and reward. Food becomes less “rewarding,” and the constant dopamine urge to snack gets quieter.
Ive had fewer compulsive behaviors, (masterbating, drinking, nicotine) which has been a huge plus for me. On top of that better bloodwork , lower inflammation, and the weight loss helped my mood a lot .
