Sent payment to the exact user name I was told too, have screen shots of numerous other order payments sent to that same person, but then I’m told it was the wrong person and I just lost almost five hundred bucks. It’s public so I have screen shots where other people paid the same person but I’m being told that person isn’t the right person so I’m just out the money. That’s what makes it fishy to me. If I hadn’t seen all the other transactions to the same account I’d accept that I goofed or something but they are there and I’ve got the screenshots.

Scammers figured out if someone has a @username and they make @username- it will suggest to use the second one. I don't know why, venmo is pretty fucking stupid for allowing it to be an option at all.
