+ 1 Herniated Disk and GH?
ad
Almost a year ago I herniated my L5-S1 disk in my lumbar spine deadlifting. Did extensive PT, tried BPC157 and TB500, Ive done everything short of surgery.
Currently considering trying GH. Never used it before. Ive used anabolics extensively but never GH. Now that I’m in a place where I can afford it I was considering trying it to help with my back. My MRI shows that its healed but I still cant deadlift without severe back pain. Doctors are no help. Wondering if anyone has any experience with this problem and how they got back to deadlifting/back squatting.
Anything helps. GH? Other compounds? I’m really not sure where to go from here and ik disk problems are common in the lifting community.
Thanks

I currently have 3 herniated disks and disk degeneration (I’m old). I worked on tanks for years and lift heavy stuff for work. Physical therapy and a chiropractor are doing wonders for me. Ortho wanted to do surgery, I said F that.

I herniated my L5-S1 about 7 months ago, It took me about 3 months of rest before I went back in the gym and about 4 to even touch legs. I've yet to even try a squat or a leg press, and I wouldn't even think about dead lifts. I only do isolations as of right now, maybe soon I will test out a Leg Press, but I don't think I'll ever barbell squat or dead lift ever again. To me its not integral for a good physique and there are more safe ways to go about training, just not worth risking my back to even try that shit, I wanna be able to stay in the gym as long as possible.
Yeah man it sucks for sure. Super discouraging as I was only a few weeks away from a 6 plate deadlift. Now I cant do 315 for more than 6 reps without raping my lower back for the rest of the week.
Yeah that really does suck ass for sure, but you have to ask your self do you wanna hit the 6 plates again or lift for decades to come without lower back pain and possible surgery?
Not sure if applicable to your situation but look into PRP and stem cell therapy. It’s worked wonders for a friend of mines shoulder. Just another non surgical option to check out.
I don't believe I have any herniated disks, but my left lower back had been fucked for a long time. From deadlifting dumb to the work I've done in life I did something serious to my lower back, almost any time I would put over 185# on my back squatting the next day I'd be crooked. I started glow 70, gh, and started back trt 250mgs 3 weeks ago and Im wondering if the peptides and growth are fixing my back. I have not had one pinch in my lower back since starting peptides, growth. I'm on a low dose of both, I take 12 units of glow alternating top of left and right glute daily, 3 iu growth every night. I've never had a Dr look at my back. I never see a Dr unless I'm in the ER. I'm just speaking for me.
If you're able to get cortisone injections into the disc space, do that. Sometimes takes up to 3 to really work, but depending on the degree of herniation, it can be almost curative. I had the same, took 3 shots, and now (coupled with lifestyle changes), sciatic issues are a thing in my past.
HGH/BPC/etc have different mechanisms of action, and won't really do anything significant for herniation. You can try them as complementary approaches, but I think a medical / physio approach, as press says below, is best.
When I have had one off back pain periods after deadlifting in the past, I've spent considerable time researching what it could be online and the various problems that you can have, the general impression that I got is anything involving skeletal issues/nerve problems had to be be dealt with professionally through physio's and doctors etc - when issues were more muscular / tendon / inflammation related then peptides and HGH were more likely to help. You should get lots of people chiming in on this as a few weeks ago someone else was asking similar questions to do with back pain.
Yeah thats what what Ive generally heard but at this point the doctors said theres nothing else they can do except more PT for the nerve stuff. I remember hearing that there are some peps that theoretically can regenerate nerve damage but I cant remember the name.
I swear it’s like if it doesn’t involve surgery, then there’s nothing they can do. It’s really ridiculous
Yeah they wanted to do it earlier this year but copay was 3 bands. And i wasn’t about to pay that for a surgery that has an exceptionally high re-injury rate and that would make me unable to lift anything for 2 months.
