I stopped working on my fords after I tried to change the plugs and coils on my f150. The front 4 were a peace of cake, the back 4! Nightmare! Now I only do the easy stuff.

Yeah. I have a 5.0 also and literally can swap water pump in about 1 hour.
As opposed to this piece of shit where half the motor has to come apart in order to get to it.
In case you weren't aware, that new silver thing in the middle is the water pump.
Yea the ecoboost in the f150 or expedition sucks ass...one whole parts table will be just the tubes and hoses just to get to the engine and then you can actually start taking it apart

YEAH! I had a 91 Ford escort (first car) and my dad and I replaced the water pump and it was the same scenario, under the timing cover.
I honestly was SURE that Ford would never do something that stupid 30 years later...
Boy was I fuckin wrong
I had an 86 ford ranger and the fucking slave cylinder was inside the transmission bellhousing. Busted it trying to do a “burnout”, spent the rest of that trucks life pumping the clutch everywhere I went instead of pulling that transmission out to fix it. Now ford is trying to make their new vehicles DIY mechanic proof; never fails.

Also wild that an 86 ranger had a hydraulic clutch. Had an 02 mustang back in the day with the heaviest mechanical clutch I've ever felt.
That’s the name of the game. They’ve gotten a few things right over the years but damn when they do it wrong, they do fuck it up. All the 5.0 guys clutches were notchy, heavy tanks back in the 90s.
