+ 2 Interpreting Body Scan Results
Hey all,
I'm a fat guy working to not be fat anymore. I've lost 35lbs now and decided to get a body scan at my gym. It's one of those that you stand on a scale and hold the electrodes which I know isn't the most accurate, but thought it could be valuable in seeing my progress over time.
The scan came back saying I have 181lbs lean tissue, which I don't really trust at all, but think maybe it indicates that I do have high levels of muscle.
Wondering if you guys can look at this and tell me how my starting point is, obviously the fat is high but I expected that, I have a gut so the visceral fat results aren't shocking and I'm planning to keep losing, goal weight is somewhere from 200-220 depending on what my lean mass really is.
Planning to get a DEXA here in the next week or two to get a real starting place, but thought this was fun.
Thanks for any input you guys may have on this!

Scan the document and ask Gemini to give you a comprehensive summary report pointing out the good, bad, and ugly. And to provide an action plan.
That AI report will be worth more than what you spent on the scan
Agree 100… you can do this with most AIs, I donut with my lab work
I like how they try to sell you a bunch of bullshit at the bottom.
who knows if that 35% is accurate or not? I'm sure it's somewhere in the neighborhood of right though... And that is enough. 30% or 35% or 40% all leads to the same conclusion: you're in for a big time cut.
You can do it tho man. You won't be the first guy in here to have completely changed their life. Not the last either.
looks like you're already locking in and getting it done, and kudos for that. To be completely fair, 35% isn't the END OF THE WORLD. Once you cross in to the mid 20s you will be feeling a lot better, and then you will be hungry for more.
Lmao i was looking at that too... none of that shit ain't gonna do a dam thing
Haha N2G THERMO PLUS HAS ME YOKED BRAH
Appreciate it man, yeah I obviously knew I’m fat the numbers were no surprise, but the weight loss is really consistent currently and I’m not even worried about it tbh, more so pacing myself to make sure I do it at a healthy pace
It’ll come with time, I think by the end of the year I’ll be nearing my goal weight, as long as I stay consistent I can keep most of this muscle too
Honestly man, for 5’10 and 276, having 181 lean mass and almost 100 lbs skeletal muscle is pretty impressive if that scan is even somewhat accurate. The body fat and visceral fat are definitely high, but the good thing is you probably have a lot more muscle underneath than you think.
Also smart move planning a DEXA because those gym scans can be all over the place depending on hydration and carbs. But either way, losing 35 lbs already is solid progress. If you stay consistent and keep lifting, I think you’ll look completely different another 40-60 lbs down.
Hell yeah thanks man, I’m pretty strong and have always been a pretty broad large guy so I wasn’t surprised by the lean mass but encouraged
Hopefully I can keep it on the way down and get shredded lol, already at a good starting place once this initial cut is done
And yeah these gym machines aren’t super accurate more useful for directional changes I feel, next month I’ll get another one and see whether the fat levels went down, again hopefully not moving the lean mass bar too much
Nice work, brother. I actually lost over 100 pounds myself back in 2019, and honestly once the weight starts really coming off, you’ll probably look way more shredded underneath than you expect. Having a solid amount of muscle already makes a huge difference.
GLP-1s helped me a lot during the process too. One thing that kept me motivated was I basically promised myself a reward at the end. I got a tummy tuck after the fat loss. Knowing I was working toward that helped me stay locked in while dropping the weight.
Keep lifting and stay consistent with the cut. You’re definitely set up to look completely different once you lean out more.
