Thanks for taking me back to some great childhood memories Jrihard!
Fudge Rounds were my favorite.
I'm a Gen Xer that grew up in a very small country town where little debbies were a staple in our diets. Back then we had no idea what a healthy diet was or the harm that consuming more sugar than water could do. These High Fructose Corn Syrup laden treats were an epidemic in my neighborhood. Me and my neighborhood friends were all addicted to to the point of fighting over which one was best. We lived life one star crunch at a time. I think at one point there was blood in my little debbie stream.
No, the idea that British people have worse teeth than Americans is largely a myth. Studies show that the overall oral health and condition of teeth in the UK are generally on par with, and in some areas slightly better than, in the US. You can check out the specific clinical details published by the British Dental Association for a deep dive into national oral health statistics.
Here is how the two populations actually compare:
Missing Teeth: Landmark research published in the British Medical Journal found that the average number of missing teeth is significantly higher in the US (about 7.3) compared to England (about 7.0).
Children's Dental Health: World Health Organization (WHO) data consistently shows that British children have fewer decayed, missing, or filled teeth on average than their American counterparts.
Cosmetics vs. Health: The American preference heavily leans toward "Hollywood" standards—artificially whitened and perfectly straightened teeth. In the UK, there is historically less focus on cosmetic perfection and whitening, but this does not mean the teeth are less healthy.
Access and Inequality: Oral health inequalities (such as those tied to income and education) are consistently higher in the US. In the UK, free dental care for children and the subsidized structure of the NHS reduce these disparities across lower socioeconomic groups.
While the general condition of teeth is quite similar, the priorities differ: Americans prioritize cosmetic uniformity (braces and whitening), while Brits prioritize functional, natural oral health.
I haven't eaten this junk in forever now, and tbh i stopped liking this stuff long ago. You just cant beat fresh baked donuts, and muffins, then you have cake, ice cream and fucking CHEESE CAKE! Little Debbie is low grade trash, it wouldn't even be on my list to eat if i completely uncorked the food vacuum that's within myself.
Zebra cake s for my fat ass
I'll have to stick with my oatmeal cream pies
For right now. Red white and blue brownies. Can't get enough of the different dyes! Then the cosmic brownies
