Bad rubber stoppers, safe to use?

ad

I have 8 of these Ultima mast p vials, they all have the bootyhole rubber stopper. Nothing leaking but I can't imagine that this is fully sterile. Yes I'm aware of the ultima situation with the test. If these are unsafe I won't even bother sending to jano.

DO NOT USE IT

The issue is that MCT oil molecules are very small and mobile. Instead of staying put in the solution, they slowly migrate into the microscopic pores in the rubber stopper. Over time the stopper begins to swell as more oil gets absorbed into the material. Once it reaches that point, the rubber can actually start leaching compounds back into the oil, where they remain suspended.

So if you’re seeing the “bootyhole” rubber stoppers, the concern isn’t just cosmetic. The oil has likely already interacted with and infused into the stopper material. At that stage I personally wouldn’t bother trying to salvage it with filtering, because the contamination risk isn’t just particles, it’s the chemical interaction between the oil and the rubber itself.

The proper fix is using PTFE-faced (Teflon / FluroTec lined) stoppers, which create a barrier that prevents the oil from penetrating the rubber. Those liners are significantly more expensive than basic stoppers, which is why many cheap labs avoid them. If you noticed the new batches of Ultima are now using silicone based stoppers.

But once the rubber has already absorbed the oil like this, the interaction has already happened. At that point I personally wouldn’t use it, and I doubt filtering would really solve the underlying issue.

It is not safe, I received Ultima npp with the same condition, and threw them away. The main issue, besides integrity of the seal, is that you can never sanitize the stopper, among other issues.

Def not safe in that condition....nor would I ever trust running a product that came looking like that. Especially from Ultima. It wasn't just issues with Test brother.....they had issues with a whole slew of different products.

Would draw it all out of that vial with a filter needle and transfer it to sterile vial with a different needle

That is what I would do. I just get some vials off Amazon that are sterile. I use them for mixing my wifes.

Should be golden after minus that it may be fake gear, since it comes from Ultima.

If anybody has access to testing info for these it would be much appreciated. I have a bunch of these also from the holiday season that I'd like to get replaced if they are bunk

Send off a sample to Jano or Analiza.

Unless he bought a large quantity, it's not worthwhile. PMroids Replaced my gear when I showed Janoshik results but never offered any credit for the cost of testing it. I lost money getting my gear tested, even with the product replacements.

Ok?

If you know the test is good you can get a sterile syringe filter and transfer into another sterile vile which all can be purchased on amazon.

OS was refunding or replacing for various items, so I imagine PM will too.

I'd ask for a replacement mate, especially with everything going on at the moment I'm sure they'd understand, they've messed up
