Just Hit 40…

ad

What’s up yall. Just hit that 40 mark. I spent a lot of time in the game in my younger days. Have many successful cycles under my belt. Been stage ready. But I been out of the gym for 3 years and I feel like dog shit. Looking to get back in the saddle. I’m not going for huge gains. I am looking to be fit and healthy. I am working on getting my diet in check and I just placed an order for some cyp. What are you OG’s running at for quality of life and maintenance? Looking for recommendations. Thanks in advance fellas.

40 is still young mate. Lots of us on here in decent shape in our 40s and 50s, This is Robby at 75. He swears he’s not on gear either, just great diet and discipline.

100% couldn’t agree more…but
Thumbs up for the physique !
Thumbs down for another old school BS!
Can’t stand with these mfk lies.
I mean … Old-school pride is cool until it turns into delusion. (Btw I consider myself old school but can’t eat that kind of stuff)
Some of those guys act like using PEDs kills the honor or the grind … it doesn’t.
AAS is a multiplier, not a miracle. 100 × 0 still equals 0.
If you’ve got a great physique, you earned it … period.
Genetics can bless you, but no one gets jacked sitting on their ass.

It’s like all of them got together in the 70s and said we’re all going to say the most we ever ran was 15mg of dbol and 100mg of primo EW and take it to the grave. Which a handful of them have already done.

They were obviously all lying to each other about how much they were taking. You know with how competitive Arnold was it would be just like him to lie to all his fellow competitors/friends and say he’s taking way less. While taking as much as his body could handle. So I’d love to know what Arnold was actually taking.

100% brother man !

Have you heard Arnies claim that all he took was 100mg Test per week and 3 x 5mg DBol tabs per day LMFAO!!!! So in other words thats like saying he was just taking 15mg DBol per day.

Same time though pal, I can understand why some of them don't want to be open about what they take because then you get all the arseholes who say 'Well if I took what he takes then I'd be able to lift that/look like him' so its probably easier just to lie Lol The guys that say that are the ones that can't tolerate fuck all gear too so put others down that can.

irongame427's picture

Yup, they all say 3 dbol a day max. And I’ve heard either 1 shot of primo a week, or 1 shot of test, but not at the same time. Total bullshit. No way Arnold was stepping on stage at 235-240 on a TRT dose of test and 15mg of dbol ed.

I also can’t believe for a second that Robby isn’t on something here. Not only would he have elite muscle building genetics, which he does. He would also have the .000001% elite genetics when it’s comes to aging. I feel like you’d need to not only be on a decent TRT+ dose but also GH to have skin that good looking at 70.

RobertB80's picture

One of the best golden era physiques of all time. Watched a documentary on him and he swore blind he tried Deca once, had a bad reaction and never touched peds again. To be in the top 2 in Arnold’s era and state you’ve never ran a cycle does seem unlikely to say the least. In any case his body now at his age and the way he trains is an inspiration to any of us middle aged gym rats. Consistency is key.

Pandateston's picture

Absolutely! Couldn’t agree more … consistency is everything.
Insane physique and top-tier genetics, no doubt… but the “no PEDs” stories? Yeah, I’m not buying that one.

What are you OG’s running at for quality of life and maintenance?

Exactly, brother … when it comes to real quality of life, it starts with proper TRT and maybe a touch of GH. That combo alone can flip the switch back on …sleep, recovery, libido, mood, joint health everything just works again. Physiologically, you’re restoring what time steals: stable testosterone levels, better IGF-1 activity, improved mitochondrial function, and less systemic inflammation.
Now, if we’re talking performance and aesthetics … that’s where blast and cruise comes in. Most experienced guys who live this lifestyle do a true TRT year-round, then hit one or two controlled blasts per year. Keeps the labs decent, health markers in range, but still lets you push the envelope when needed.
But let’s be real … once you’re running 800–1000 mg total or tossing in extras like Tren, Mast, or Primo, you’ve left the TRT zone. That’s not “replacement therapy,” that’s a mild blast with a fancy label.
So, in short … TRT for longevity, GH for life quality, and blasting when the fire’s still burning. Just depends whether you’re chasing healthspan or chasing that monster in the mirror, brother.

Well said brother. I am running from the monster in the mirror these day -- No more Tren for me. We have a love hate relationship. I am chasing the health bar now! Looks like I am going to start my own research in the gh. I have read miraculous things about the youth fountain. I believe I am at the age now where I could capitalize off of it. Thank you bro.

irongame427's picture

The 40+ quality of life protocol would be a TRT level dose of test plus 1.5-2ius GH ED. If you aren’t a hermit and you travel and shit it’s worth getting a legit trt script. Or if you care about legality. It’s easy enough to get these days and pretty cheap. Maybe a low dose nandrolone too depending on how your joints are. There’s one clinic that offers test and deca and var. GH is much harder to get a script for. And it’s insanely expensive so you have to get it through a source here,

I wouldn’t jump right back on cycle having been out of the gym for 3 years. Your strength may go up way faster than your joints can handle and end up hurting yourself. You’re 40 now, not 20. A TRT dose would be fine, if you need it.

Sw0nky's picture

Thank you for the insight. I think my cycle days are behind me. I want to maintain and feel 20 again. That’s my ultimate goal. I ordered some Cyp from a source here. I was thinking about pinning 200 on Tuesdays and Wednesday to see how I feel. What is a good dose for TRT?

irongame427's picture

Same. I haven’t ran a cycle in years. And ideally will not blast again if I can maintain restraint lol. As long as I’m making some progress in the gym I’m happy, which I can do on TRT. Although TRT reopens the door to cycling again. At first it’s just some test, then you add a little of this and a little bit of that to enhance your TRT protocol.

Typical TRT dose is 80-200mg of test a week. TRT will keep your test levels in normal range. Most shoot for the high end of normal, so around 1000ng/dl. Some people need more or less test to get to that level. So you have to do bloodwork to dial in the dose. If you aren’t familiar with doing bloodwork, interpreting bloodwork, ancillaries needed, mitigating side effects etc then it’s best to do it through a TRT clinic so they can monitor you.

200mgs taken twice a week is a full on cycle, not TRT. 200mg total per week is closer to TRT. 100mg twice a week. Do bloodwork around the 6 week mark to see where your test and other hormones are at and adjust if necessary.

Dude I just turned 43 and I am in better shape now than I have ever been. Do not worry about age, if I suggested anything that would be to start with some Testosterone. Well first get some blood work so you know what your levels are and then start a testosterone cycle. You can add in some anavar or do some primo with it and see how your body reacts. I have joint issues so I am now using deca on my cruising of testosterone and its seems to work great.

I am liking the Deca incorporation due to the joint pain. Thank you sir.

I wouldn't dwell on your age too much mate, I was guilty of doing that for a long time. I've learnt its how you tend to act and talk that determines the age that you come across as. I have pals on here that are 50 and I'm 45 - we are still rating women in their 20's as to how fuckable their arses are LMFAO!!! Never thought that kind of talk would exist at my age now back when I was 21. Thought I would be choosing the colour and design of my coffin by now ROFL

I plan on sliding into my grave -- Thank you for the insight!

Are you running a trt dosage? Or a a cycle?

You look well for nearly 60 mate!! Or is that when you were 40? lol

Lol. That's before I let my hair go grey!!!

press1's picture

I have grey hair now too, but having to have it grade 1 all over because I am bald on top means the hair is too short to dye anyway LOL

irongame427's picture

I got lucky and I got hair of steel. My grandpas both passed in their late 80s with full heads of hair. But, I got unlucky in that I go grey early. I started seeing greys in my mid-late 20s. And by my 30s it was a lot worse. Dyeing it seemed like such a pain in the ass. I remember seeing my dad do it growing up so I was never interested in that. Then I found out about grey reducing shampoo, “Just for men”. You just scrub it in like regular shampoo. They say leave it in for 2 mins but I find longer is better. It can be grey reducing or basically grey eliminating depending on how often you use it. Once you get your hair where you like it you just use it a few times a week to maintain. Looks 100% natural. Nobody has ever questioned it because it’s a gradual process when you first start using it, you don’t go from grey to no grey overnight, more like over 2-4 weeks depending. highly recommend this stuff. Grey hair makes us look so much older.

press1's picture

Mate - I am definately going to try this, we get that shampoo over here but just never thought about it before. I will have to shave the beard off as that is nearly all grey now, then choose a colour for the hair LMAO I think I was around mousy brown before things went silverback lol Only thing I am concerned about is it dying my scalp lol Looks like it just sticks to grey hair though. I was late on in terms of going grey, started thinning on top and noticing hair coming out when I was waxing it around 21 years old. Steroids really hit me hard during mid 30's though and soon managed to obliterate what I had held on to.

irongame427's picture

Ya man this stuff is selective, it does not die skin/scalp, only hair, and finger nails lol. I believe it’s the Keratin in hair that it reacts with, and nails are also made up of that, but skin does not. It’s never dyed my skin.

They have a couple color options, like 5 or so It’s not the kind of thing where there’s hundreds of options and you have to try and best match the color to your hair. I use the stuff for lighter shades. It’s really weird, it says it’s for blonde hair but also lighter shades of brown. My hair is not dark brown but not light brown either, it’s in the middle and this for lighter shades color option does not change the overall color of my hair, it just dyes the greys. I started off with the general brown one that says it works for all shades of hair and it damn near turned my hair black. Maybe I over used it, idk. So I switched to the lighter shades and it works great. They even have stuff designed for your beard too if you wanted to keep that. This is the version I use.

Lucky duck. My hair started dipping out couple years ago. I'm beating a dead horse at this point not giving up. Definitely sucks.

irongame427's picture

Ya for once in life I got lucky lol. I may be grey; but I atleast have plenty of hair to dye. Have you tried any of the treatments available? I see ads for them all the time. They can’t all be bullshit.

Milfpounder's picture

Oh yea I have. Got me a bunch of hims stuff. Can't tell if it makes a difference but i sure as shit keep trying. Was reading about a new treatment that's in clinical trials that is supposed to "cure baldness". There's hope. Haha

irongame427's picture

That would be sweet if they could cure MPB. The one thing I’d avoid is 5AR inhibitors like Finasteride or dutasteride. Those drugs can really fuck up your sex drive and might give you ED.
