Does rHGH shut down natural production or not? I've read conflicting things.
I keep reading conflicting statements about whether or not, injecting exogenous HGH actually stops natural production. It seems like it "does," but there's more nuance to it. From what I've read, if the body senses high levels of HGH in the blood, it won't pulse. However, because HGH has such a short half life if you pin in say the morning, shouldn't it be cleared from your body by the time you go to sleep when you naturally get your biggest pulse? Perhaps smaller pulses during the day might be stopped, but unless you take it right before bed, you should still get some natural hgh in as well? Is this belief wrong?
Also, I keep reading conflicting things about the actual half life. Some sites suggest it's 4 hours, some say 30 mins, so I'm not quite sure what to believe.

Yes, somatostatin will inhibit the release of GH from the pituitary even if GHRH signals that release (if sufficient or too much GH is detected). However, once those levels clear, then GHRH will continue to signal the release of GH in a pulsatile fashion prior to exogenous GH.
anvilShuts off natural production for sure. But will restart within 24-36 hours on it's own when you stop taking exogenous HGH.
It’s hard to say for sure. While the circulating half life of GH is short, the biological half life is about 17hrs +-8hrs. So could you take it first thing in the morning and still get your night time pulse? Idk. I don’t think there’s been any real studies on it. But even after 17hrs you still have half of it active. Thats likely too much and your body won’t release GH at night.
The way to find out though would be to establish your baseline IGF-1 and then a take a dose of GH that will only match it or slightly add to it and then get bloodwork again. So for example my natural IGF-1 level as of 2 weeks ago was 304. If I add 2ius of GH that will typically only get me to about 200. So in theory if it’s not shutting me down my levels should be higher than my 304 baseline on just 2ius. If I test at 400 or 500 that would mean it’s adding to my natural production as 2ius on its own will never me anywhere near there. However, if my levels test in the 200s then we would know that even the single morning dose is shitting me down completely.
It depends. Your dose, your timing, frequency, length of usage, even age can be a factor. Small dose, as soon as wake up, once a day am, for a max few months you could be ok.
I'm taking 4 iu. 2 in the morning, 2 usually early afternoon pre-workout, but I don't usually go to bed till around 2 AM.
Almost no chance you’re getting any natural GH with that regime. About the only way you could hope for the natural nighttime pulse is with a single dose in the morning.
yeah i'm not too worried about it but was just curious
4 iu is more than hrt dose which mean higher risk. But it doesn’t have to happen. If You wanna be sure you can lower your dose or you can do 5 on 2 off and take a break after a few months.
