Carbs, are they really that bad?
ad
So do carbs always put on fat? Or are they essential for mass building? And what’s a good carb count for lean mass?

anvilNo, negging is never the way to go. But that comment in itself was not beneficial to the community since he put "i know people" to support his statement and "carbs are just sugar". That statement is way to general to beneficial. You have to get calories in somehow. We can have educated discussions, stating a meat based diet works because he knows people.... I have met people on this forum that think the earth is flat. And linear cycles that bodybuilders did in the 80s should still be adhered to.. I see the rest of these post are more in depth except the 1970 food study LMAO
Huh?
Guy didnt take chemistry or nutrition
Nutrient Density of Animal-Sourced Foods: Animal foods pack a nutritional punch not found in plant foods, offering essential nutrients like vitamins A, K2, B9, B12, B6, D, heme iron, and omega-3 fatty acids. This makes animal products both qualitatively and quantitatively superior, providing nutrients in forms readily usable by the human body.
Gut Morphology: The human digestive system, characterized by a smaller colon and a longer small intestine, is optimized for the digestion of fats and proteins rather than fermenting plant fibres. This adaptation suggests a dietary shift towards energy-dense, nutrient-rich animal sources, reducing reliance on plant fibre.
Cruuciferous vegetables are needed. And as with Carbs, proteins have short medium and long chain. Protein is not just protein
Bioenergetics: Humans require significantly more energy than most primates due to our large brains, extensive tool use, prolonged child care, and learning activities. Meat provides a more efficient energy source than plants, offering a higher energy return for the effort expended in hunting compared to the continuous gathering of plants. This efficiency in energy acquisition likely influenced early humans to favour hunting, especially during periods when plant resources were scarce.
Diet Quality: The human brain is exceptionally large, necessitating a diet rich in high-quality, calorie-dense foods. Animal fat, being more calorie-dense than proteins or carbohydrates, playd a crucial role in meeting these energy demands. Plant-based diets often contain antinutrients that can inhibit nutrient absorption, making animal products a preferred source for supporting brain development.
Carbs arent bad. Being misinformed is bad. You should be studying.
anvilThis is like the 4th post in a row I've agreed with you, are we now allies?? I think so.
Shhhh! Folks want to see the verbal bashing. Lol! Im off to do leg day.
He’s trolling the shit outta this site, bruvv
You can make it to eroids you can simply find that excess food in any sort of macro component leads to excess energy the body has to “burn “ off for energy.. more energy burned than energy kcals put into the body the more weight you’ll loose.
Intermittent fasting with a Big Mac, large fry, large coke and this being my ONLY meal I guarantee I lose more weight , fat muscle the whole nineee
Insulin sensitivity will bounce and cholesterol may bounce with that extreme but just imagine from white sugar - boiled sweet potato over time it’s the amount per gram that makes the biggest difference
Why the hell do you have a problem with the things I’ve asked. Which are legit and stuff I’ve commented on reviews. You troll the site. Your on everyone’s comments and review Pages. I haven’t done a cycle since 2015. So I’m just getting back into things. I’ve went from 233 to 190 in about 5 months and now I’m trying to put some lean mass on. All I’m doing is learning. Stop being a dick dude.
Let me just apologize publicly to the dog lol, the post came off slightly trolling and I happened to catch it before it went viral
Literally seen so many fake channels pop up to post minimal wording just to piss someone off,
Plus yeah I basically was in a daze, I’m on everyone’s review pages because I bought all the sources gear and used them derp
I appreciate that. I use to lift and run cycles but it’s been years. I got fat and lazy. Ran some semiglutide/Tren/test for 12 weeks. Lost 30lbs. Now I’m off everything but cruising on test. I’m just trying to map out my next move. When I lifted years ago. I really didn’t do much in the field of dieting and now that I’m older I feel like I have to watch what I eat more than I use too. Just trying to get an over all picture of the gear I want to run and a diet. All this info is confusing tbh so I guess I’ll do some research myself. We can all agree to disagree haha
I got a lot out of the post, I was more on the health tip younger and natty it was so dialed, then I lacked and took jail habits with me and did some stupid moves
It matters where we end up at the end of the journey not where it was right?
Take care tonight man
Oh god here we go again….
No, carbs don’t inherently turn to fat. Calories in excess of your TDEE turn to fat. Regardless where they come from.
Stop getting nutritional advice from TikTok or social media fitness influencers. There is also no magical carb amount for lean mass. Fad diets are bs. Hit your protein goal, get enough carbs to replenish your glycogen stores based on your personal activity level, and then the rest in fats. Simple as that.
Yes buttttttt 9 times out of ten your excess is gunna be carbs. And if your fat it’s gunna be from carbs. Not many people are getting fat off steak and avocado. But ya it’s more complex than “carbs are bad” and you could get fat on a low carb diet if you ate too much fat and protein
One of several studies about carbs vs fats in excess and what % leads to energy (fat) storage.
Like I said, these fad diets are bs. Especially this carnivore bs.
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/7598063/#:~:text=Carbohydrate%20overfeed....
“Carbohydrate overfeeding produced progressive increases in carbohydrate oxidation and total energy expenditure resulting in 75-85% of excess energy being stored. Alternatively, fat overfeeding had minimal effects on fat oxidation and total energy expenditure, leading to storage of 90-95% of excess energy. Excess dietary fat leads to greater fat accumulation than does excess dietary carbohydrate, and the difference was greatest early in the overfeeding period.”
Theres diffrent types off fat, animal fat from steaks, like the the fat around a sirloin steak, and the fat in a ribeye steak, and mince steak meat i always get 20% fat in it, full of flavour and goodness, fatty streaky bacon, then u have man made saturated fats, greese now when talkin off fats have too rember there diffrent types off fats, animal fast that u get in animal products is good for u full nutrion and flaour, and my sister is on the carnivore diet has been for just over a year, eats no carbs, before she startes it she has loads pains, tennis elbow inflamed joints ect, all gone now and she trains in gym and her physique is amazing, shea has ate carbs few times to test a thsory and every time she eats carbs her pains come back, alot off carbs cause inflamation in joints, theres loads off facts proving this out there, she dosent get food cravinga anymore, and is fullwr more eats less, as the meat keeps u full longer. To be onist im sick off hearin about steaks and meat the damn lectures she gives me about it ffs --♂️ if i even look at a carb or bun shes at me ( thats not food why would u put that in ur body ) bla bla bla --♂️
Its as simple as processed sugars versus good food supplies of carbs.
