My kind of guy...just take a bit of gear, eat whatever and just bust your balls in the gym.. And still look big as a tank.
Respect
You still compete or just cruise control?
Hey nothing wrong with cruising. Got to give the body a rest from those heavy ass weights
Nope bro. Competed 2004-2013.
Nothing wrong with that. I'm sure u enjoyed
anvilThe are picking on you're macro comment but left the I don't take any AAS but AAS alone, cmon people learn to choose the battles..
You are a beast my guy, extremely thic.
Can i ask why no flat bench. I noticed a slight incline its easy on my 48yr old shoulders. Is that your reason? Nice and thick by the way +1
Edit: read below and got my answer
Strong guy. My joints hurt just thinking about those weights
I also like that strong look between a powerlifter and a bodybuilder.
Must be the creatine...hcl!
Yeah I agree that strong look between a powerlifter and bodybuilder is nice. I always preferred that look for some reason. I never cared about the ripped look
I should use the monohydrate version to retain some water
Unfortunately, my genetics do not allow me to have that look. I am a genetic skeleton and there is no food or steroid that can give me that look.
I am sentenced to "ripped" look LOL
If your not counting macros... How do you know your not getting the 1g per pound? Eh? Eh?
Because I have the knowledge that a egg is roughly 6 gr of protein and 8 oz of chicken is roughly 40g of protein and I know what I consume a day. I also don't count my steps and know I don't walk 10 miles a day and I don't measure my dick but I know it's not 8 inches. I'm weirdly relying on my previous knowledge and my common sense. Make sense to ya? Eh? eh?
You and I kind of have the same approach when it comes to not counting macros or consuming a gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. You and I chatted not too long ago and I had no idea. I really don't do cardio myself to be honest but that's crazy on my part because I should know better. But glad to know you have that approach too. I do drink a gallon of water a day though lol. I remember u telling me about your incline but the rest of your lifts look good my man. Ya know power is the last thing to go in some guys as they get older. Have u suffered any major injuries? I've been fortunate so far not to. As far as measuring my Dick? Haven't done that since I was a teenager lolol
... So you ARE counting macros.. Im just fuckin around. I am curious as to what a normal day of eating is for you since you got a case of the swoleness. And I was just listening to Sarcev talk about 400g of protein.
You know it’s not 8, because it’s reaaaallly like 11 Eh? Eh?
I'm interested to know also bud, are you having more problems with tendon soreness and recovery as you get older (we are the same age), I am finding that my shoulders and RTC's and all the other things in there take forever to recover these days. I've tried all kinds of protocols and supps - sometimes things seem to work and other times they don't. I am coming to the conclusion that its simply collagen synthesis getting much slower as opposed to in our younger days. Muscle recovery is still fairly good but tendons are another story.
Oh yes bro. Everything is not the same after 40 and all the years powerlifting. Legs are the first to go strength wise for me. Shoulders I'm very strong and lift more then I should and will enviabley dial it back there too.
It was crazy mate, as soon as I hit 40 I started getting injuries everywhere almost like it was preinstalled in me for that specific age. Hamstring tears on deads, central pec tear flat benching, top bicep tear when benching right underneath the right shoulder where it inserts under the cap!! lol As I never ran gear in my 20's or hit training as hard as I should of, how would you compare how your strength is different in mid 20's compared to mid forties?
Teens and 20s on the increase. 30s was my absolute peak. Took more records at 30-31 yo. 40s on is downhill my man. That's why I tell old guys like us for every hour a week you spend in the gym spend 10 min of that a week at the gun range. 7 hours a week in the gym means 70 min a week becoming more proficient with your firearms
I split range and gym time equally but truly second this idea. If you look big enough they always will go for the gun so you need to be better at that too.
Press won’t understand that concept. He lives in that antiquated land that still has queens and shit. Barely allowed to own a dull pocket knife over there.
HAHAHAAA LMFAO!!!!
Mate its a good thing we aren't allowed to own guns over here because otherwise I would have one as I had an obsession with them as a kid, The A-Team was my favourite programme!
Seriously pal, I am that guy that would turn up at an Ex GF's new boyfriends house in the dead of night all como'd up with the AR 15 all red dotted up - and shoot the crap out of him and her!! LMFAO It's a Good thing bro, its a good thing.
Man the more we talk the more it sounds like you’re really just an American at heart too stubborn to move back to your homeland. C’mon…it’s just a quick plane ride. The gear is plentiful over here
I tell you what bud, I'll move over there if you let me come live with you until I get my own place. We could also start up our own little gear lab in your home gym LMAO Only thing I ask though is when you are doing all your morning cardio you leave me fast asleep in bed!!!
I can believe that bud, even though I don't wanna hear it LOL Have you ever been tempted to get more into the bodybuilding side of things doing more reps and variety and hopefully less injuries, or are you going to stay in powerlifting till the end? I keep toying with the idea but I know my strength will plummet as I can overtrain very easily when adding in more exercises.
Maybe it's short man syndrome but I can't put the heavy weight down. I have tried the bodybuilding route and felt unsatisfied everytime. Look at Ronnie Coleman for example. It was not bodybuilding that did him in , rather that heavy ass weight. For some guys I think it is a unique addiction, almost a malady of sort. I know it's not the best for me but I have to be one of the strongest in the gym...and please know I'm not a show boater or anything like that. Just a guy who realized a long time ago that in my life story I'm the villan ,not the hero
I get exactly where you are coming from, I did 3 months of just bodybuilding type workouts to see how I felt about it all. I soon began putting more bodyweight on and filling my clothes out properly in the shoulders and back from doing more rows and dumbbell shoulder work, and for a few weeks it felt great going out like that after training. But all the time deep inside I was pissed off and unsatisfied that I wasn't as strong as I was in the past, and I had missed that bench that use to be no problem etc even though when lifting that way I didn't look as good. Its a mental obsession with numbers and progression even if its the tiniest amount - it means you are getting stronger. Even if its oblivious to anyone else.
You're an ox keep up the good work Buddy
Thanks bro
I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't dop flat bench any longer!
No more of that for this shoulder
My shoulder and elbows started to slide about a year ago. Most presses I do are with dumbbells so I can adjust the range of motion.
Weirdly I'm still fine on Incline bar movements...every day is a gift right?
I have similar feeling there. That angle doesn’t stress my over out.
Really? for me incline feels worse on my shoulder and overhead pressing is almost completely out of the routine. must just be the mechanics of our bone structure
I think we all have slightly different mechanics and angles in our shoulders for sure, some can tolerate a lot of shoulder work and be fine - where as others like us are sensitive to it and can easily become overtrained and susceptible to injury. The less angles I put mine in the better I tend to find, if I try to military press and flat bench they are sore and buggered for weeks on end. Mine hunch over and angle slightly forward like a boxers which just cannot be ideal for benching at all lol You want them to be sat back and down, big and broad like Inzers Lol
I think that has a ton to do with it. Also mechanics during the lift matter. My elbows stay tucked toward my sid for anything overhead.
