That's guaiacol. Guaiacol smells and tastes weird and it's a supersolvent that's not always used in gear. The raw powder doesn't have that guaiacol smell.
I opened up a vial of TNE and used 1ml in my office. I could smell it in there for 3 days.
Some hormones do have a certain taste to them but pretty sure most don't though. But yea most of the time that smell and taste is from the solvents, especially guaiacol. But you're right some steroids do have a certain taste to them.
But personally I don't go around tasting every hormone
This is an old school practice to taste the gear because even if it’s only the solvents that you’re tasting, it would have a familiar taste that would convince you it was real. Scammers weren’t as advanced back then, so most guys would taste like mineral oil or straight up vegetable oil if it was a local scammer. Back then, a batch of gear would hit the streets and the guys with the best hooks, got the shipments and hustled them accordingly. The heavy users were known to crazy glue the caps back on and sell it to the fools and Newbs. So tasting it was definitely a thing back then

A lot of people talk about testing the gear. Can anybody tell me how you would go about getting it tested? And about what it cost? Not saying I will or I won't do it. But what would it take to get it done? Thanks.

Roid test kit would probably be your fastest and cheapest option. They sell them online. They are somewhat accurate. For the most part they will tell you if something is or isn’t, as far as how potent, they do have semi quantitative tests available for certain compounds, but it will only indicate whether something is stronger than say 200 mg. I’ve used these tests on several of dcs gear over the past year or so and it never had a negative reaction.
I appreciate the response and I thought about that too but I've ever used em and I hear mixed reviews like anything else to do with AAS. I was asking about lab test tho. I know, I should have made myself clear that's my bad. I just figured if it's not much different than getting bloods done it would be worth doing. I don't have a clue honestly so maybe I'm way off here and asking a stupid question but I'm hoping somebody will shine some light. Thanks tho.

Been here since 2011 and I dont think any "rule" would stop a source from scamming. Its up to the community to properly review, consult each other and alert each other when things seems strange.
Laws will not stop criminality in society, no rule will stop scammers on eroids because both rest on the actions/behavior of the individual.

We're all grown here (some more than others) so y'all do what you want. Just know that your taking a huge risk to do any future business with this guy or even communicate with him. Never know who's on the other side (alphabet boys). You have to assume the worst sometimes in this game and proceed with caution or in this case don't proceed at all. Find another source! There's other sources on here with good gear for a good price. Why risk your health, hard earned money, and freedom? I know some people can't afford to take losses like this, I get it man.
