waking up at night when sleeping to eat

ad

i started recently to wake up at night to eat my protein to not go catabolic when sleeping... before i go to bed i prepare my protein shake and when i wake up at night to go pee i drink it fast on the way to wc what do you guys think is this a good trick, bodybuilding judges hate this trick, or is it bad to do that

what are your thoughts and has someone of you done that in the past or still doing it?

also after that i set up another alarm clock 4 hours later so i wake up and eat like an apple and oats so i eat twice while sleeping i sleep 9-13 hours per night never less

Digestion requires an enormous quantity of your bodies available energy stores so it means you don’t sleep as well with food in your gut, and it also inhibits body detoxification. Your bodies natural cellular detoxification process begins after about 4 hours of being fasted, and healing is improved in a fasted state, so muscle recovery is improved in a fasted state. I would suggest that 2-3 hour training sessions combined with food always in your gut bag is slowing your recovery and mitochondrial efficiency. Even though we hear the word catabolism & struggle to avoid it, it is important to let your stomach empty for appropriate periods of time each day. Insulin resistance is also something to be wary of if you’re prone (or incorporate HGH)

The gut needs a break from food also.

I gain better that way. But I don’t force myself to wake up. I just happen to wake up halfway through my sleep because I got to use the bathroom.

What the hell are you doing that keeps you in the gym for 2-3 hrs Lol If you have proper intensity you should be out in about an hour. After about an hour or so in the gym (if actually working out) cortisol levels begin to spike (catabolism) and now you are taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back the longer you keep working out.

Are you prepping for a competition? Are you waking up starving? If not, you may be overdoing it. Although, if you can fall right back to sleep, and have a good digestive system, more power to you. Just be careful, because your sleep and recovery are just as important as your diet.

Hey, I definitely don’t want to come off as a know it all, so if you’re comfortable with your progress, and seeing results, that’s awesome. Everyone is different, and you have to do what feels right. Although, what you’re doing is a prepping body builder protocol, and completely unnecessary if you don’t have a competition coming up. Also, anything over 8 hours sleep is a little too much. That’s probably why you waking up feeling fucked up if you don’t eat in between. I, myself am on the other end of this, and only get 5-6 hours of sleep per night, which isn’t good either. I may know some stuff, but speaking it, and doing it are two totally different things. Do what feels right for you, in moderation. Too much of anything is an enemy, so keep that in mind, and adjust accordingly.
