I’m curious as to what people here think about PEDS being a “mind or mood altering substance “ seeing as how we’re here I think I have an idea what the general consensus is. What about those around you? If you go to meetings or sponsor what do you say to people? This one is probably most important though, have you encountered any issues where addiction is concerned with your use of gear?

It is what it is! Ask yourself this? Why did we start coming to meetings or the fellowship of AA and NA? Is because we had nothing to do? That was not my case. The reason I found help was because MY LIFE WAS UNMANAGEABLE! Does taking steroids make your life unmanageable? Does drinking five cokes a day make your life unmanageable? That’s how you tell if your “addicted” to whatever. If my life would have been “manageable” while I was using, shooting, snorting, smoking everything in site, then hell why would I want have come here.

I really appreciate the responses. I definitely relate to most of what you all said. As for myself, I’m pretty open about my use of gear. Besides, most people can figure it out if you’re doing it right and then you just insult them if you lie. I don’t see an issue in the recovery aspect. I’m the type that will tell you that you can do anything you want to as long as you’re prepared for the consequences ,good or bad.

If you take steroids only for the result, then I don’t see anything wrong with that. The main thing is that it should not be an addiction and a substitution of other drugs.

So, I've spent quite a bit of time over the years discussing this with folks in and out of recovery. I subscribe to the belief that it is for the individual to decide whether or not they are an addict. I apply that same principle to juicing and whether or not it is a relapse. It may be of my opinion that someone doesn't deserve to get that one year chip because they stick 5ml of oil per week in their ass, but it doesn't matter because it's something that they must decide themselves. Same thing as suboxone or methadone. I'm an addict in recovery who takes peds, I don't consider that a relapse because I take it for the sole purpose of enhancing my physical abilities. But it's important to check your motives because it's a slippery slope. Am I taking steroids just to help with my training? If I can honestly answer yes, it's not a relapse. Or, am I taking steroids because I romanticize the whole process of drawing it up and injecting myself and enjoy having it turn me from shy and introverted dude into feeling like a monster fucking bull who gets off on the feeling of teeth shattering against brass knuckles? If that's the case, then yeah it's a relapse and I'm fucked. Important thing here is to be honest with yourself when asking the question. As for what other people think about my use, fuck 'em. It's none of their business.

IMO anything that has regret attached to it.
U able to work, pay bills, sleep @ night?
Or are u jumping counters, robbing banks for a bottle of prop?

Hey man too much water can kill ya. I’m not a fan of “balance” cuz there’s no taking a day off of being a man.
I use to be a liability to myself & everyone around me. Now I’m an asset.
U work ur own program man. I know guys who can do the marijauana maintenance shit & not pick up that brown or that white.
U gotta ask urself if u have any guilt , shame, of remorse from juicing or trt or whatever ur program is.
There’s no blanket/ cookie cutter answer imo.
It’s what works for u .
Much respect

I appreciate it man. I know there isn’t a cookie cutter answer, and I fully agree that everyone needs to work their own program. Had a rehab director tell me”my recovery might kill you” I get that. Just like mine might not be good for the next guy. I was curious though to hear from others and what it’s been like in their recovery.
