+ 7 NAC & Alcoholic Liver damage/stress
ad
Just a good study I've come across showing how well NAC really does work even against Alcohol induced Liver stress - I was always under the impression it was mainly used against Paracetamol overdose in Hospitals but its Liver stress right across the board. Remember your TUDCA & NAC guy's!!!
Its worth bearing in mind also that the better your liver is working the better your gains off the cycle will be, it will be much more efficient at processing Protein and carbohydrate, Fats etc which in turn will produce more muscle. Pushing a tonne of food through an inefficient liver is wasting time and money.

CHECK THIS OUT ALSO:
L-GLUTAMINE
This amino acid has many functions in our body, including increasing brain levels of key neurotransmitters GABA and glutamate, healing the ‘leaky’ lining of the gut (found commonly in alcoholics and substance abusers), reducing cravings for alcohol, increasing the release of human growth hormone, and increasing the production of detoxifying enzyme glutathione.
One study of alcoholics found that 10–15g daily helped 75 per cent of alcoholics control their drinking. In addition to this, glutamine supplementation has been shown to improve liver healing and can be used as a treatment in early stage liver cirrhosis.

NAC is one of the most underrated and lesser well known supps there is in my opinion. Tons of benefits both antioxidant but also amazing for mental health (seems to decrease excessive excitatory signalling somehow, potentially by interacting with the NMDAR). I know they use it a ton in psychiatry, but unfortunately studies are lacking somewhat as it is natural and thus you can´t patent it and thus no adequate money to be made from it. Most importantly, it certaintly doesn´t hurt taking it so basically risk-free with strong upside potential. And MUCH better for liver health than milk thistle or any plant compounds, which also fuck up your CYPs and thus general metabolism of drugs.
Yup- Found it works very well as an adjunct for my OCD patients that don’t respond well to SSRIs
It really is a wonder supplement with a whole host of benefits. It’s supposed to help with addiction recovery as well by reducing the brains craving for most drugs. I have a friend who has ADHD really bad and is on adderall and his specialist recommended he take it with his adhd medication to help limit the addiction effects
Nice post brother, I run both Nac and Tudca, Both are extremely beneficial to liver health. I had no idea about all these other positive affects. Thanks for the info.
Thank you for posting.
Molinin302+1 big guy, valuable info here. Pay attention newbies.
Yeah you know that NAC is more than just an average supp when you learn its used in hospitals. The price is pretty cheap. I use it yr round. It also helps with..,and some other things:
"Powerful antioxidant
Provides the building blocks for glutathione
May protect the lungs, gut, brain, liver, and kidneys
May defend against toxins and pollutants
May help prevent the flu
Biofilm disruptor
Potential to improve fertility
May help with many chronic health problems"
The stuff is just so damn cheap too - I can get 100g for £10 which even at 1g a day will last 3 months.
It seems like it is a general antioxidant for the whole body including the brain!
Check out this link. Interesting and they list 29 benefits of NAC. Overall it is very beneficial.
