That is amazing.
Only seeing this video now. Thor is unreal. What a fkn monster
But my money is on Eddie!
Any word on when/where they will meet?!!
Really Good watch - Latest Strongman deadlift championship:

Jesus - This just shows how Huge Brian Shaw really is:
So it appears the hatred Eddie has for Thor for accusing him of cheating at the WSM 2017 is true. And not just something made up to hype this fight.
Was on the Viking press and the judge let Thor get away with 3 bad lifts before calling a double dip on rep 15 .
Eddie hit each rep perfect and only stopped at 15 cause that is what he needed to beat Thor. Eddie could have gotten a few more reps. Thor only complained after Eddie went after him and beat him.
Funny that yr Eddie retired and the next Thor went on to win WSM without Eddie there.

500 pounds @ 15 Yrs old!
https://youtu.be/DJdyEVsLteg
God damn. Honestly, I couldnt get that up til a couple years ago when i actually started training for strength lol. Imagine how much more he could lift if he learned to breathe and brace correctly. Every time I hear someone yell in the middle of a lift I just hear extra pounds that could've been on the bar.
This was in his comment section on the video..,smart kid..,
"The key is having a strong back to start."
When someone makes 400Kg look like 100Kg with no straps - Unbelievable ......
https://youtu.be/oppGSzVGr70
Is it an official WR since it was performed in his home gym?
I believe so. Pretty sure they brought in the right officials to make it legit.
I would literally marry the guy tomorrow he could deadlift me anytime hehehe
Here's an interesting question - When going for these 500Kg Plus lifts why are they now always using Figure 8's? Is it because they are no longer strong enough to squeeze the strap tight enough to stop it slipping round the bar or is it the added security and strength of the figure 8 over the strap.
I have 2 pairs of 8's, one more for axles and strongmen size hands Lol and the other pair smaller ones. I know the supposed advantage is less set up time at the bar but it really is marginal ....
I reckon that's it. As you know, normal straps can slip when lifting heavy, and they make the grip on the bar larger, which can affect forearm strength IMO. As Spark said: they allow the hands to be on the bar, which is probably best for optimal grip. JMO.
I have the figure eight straps and regular ones. I would say the figure eight are made stronger, they really lock you into the bar, and it allows your hand to actually be on the bar. Also is quicker to get on the bar and will not loosen up during the lift.
But the only problem is you have to lower the bar all the way to the floor. If not you will rip a part of your body off. Or do a front flip over the bar as did Larry Wheels when he was still locked in with on strap left on the bar doing a dead.
Good reply.

This is video of the actual CURRENT WORLD DEADLIFT RECORD. Eddie and Hafþór used equipment.
Impressive! Looks like he could have even lifted more.
StevebThe grip strength is impressive too.
True that is the world record for Raw..,only a belt.
Benedikt Magnusson's Raw dead lift in a legit competition, not his own gym with no crowd, is still the best IMO.
Eddie and thor had on a dead suit and use figure eight lifting straps. In strongman they are allowed to use them and also "hitching" the dl is allowed.
In one of Eddies recent rant videos he claimed that power-lifters and strongmen agreed however anyone lifts the most amount of weight in the dl is ok for the dl world record.
I disagree. There are different categories and requirements for each. Dead lift suits really don't give an advantage such as the bench shirt and squat suit that adds several hundred pounds to the lift. Raw records are higher in power lifting then the equipped lifters.
The hand straps do give an advantage over Raw. Thors and eddies lifts are amazing but they should fall under the strongman category and not the overall world record for dead lift.
Raw- belt only, no straps or dl suit, no hitching.
Equipped- dead lift suit and belt, no straps and no hitching.
Strongmen- use straps, dead suit is allowed, belt, and can hitch.
StevebThor and Eddie could not lift what they did without wrist straps
I agree that is why I stated that wrist straps give and advantage.
Made it look easy
Interesting to see his response. In an earlier vid he said he believed Thor would succeed before the lift
Eddies done a little boxing and had spared with Huey Fury. I’ll probably go with Eddie.
The deadlift record still stands until it’s done in a contest.
Hell why not? People actually paid to see that YouTube guy fight. Let’s not forget the McGregor , Mayweather scam. Lol Floyd carried him and guys still want a rematch.
A fool and his money are easily parted...
StevebIt's it's crazy how much bigger Hafþór is than Eddie. Unfortunately if they do end up boxing it wont be for a long time.
Yep unfortunately this is what the world has become - Scammy Boxing matches on the Internet.
Well after seeing Eddies latest video of him going on AGAIN about pretending to be a boxer I'm fast losing respect for the guy. If he wants to better Thor get in the gym training properly again and forget all this Social media crap that derailed your career as a strength athlete in the first place when you became obsessed with it .....
Better him by by beating his Deadlift, what you are both reknown for. Who cares about 2 fat blokes who will be gassed out after 2 minutes on their backs playing being world championship boxers?
All purely for the money - what a sellout.
BTW I thought he was training for a 700lb bench or has that all been forgotten now as he cannot stay dedicated to training anymore? ....
xWardiPhoenixspot on,at the end of the day the man is just trying to make some money, all marketing and for socialmedia lol
AnonThat is insane! I ended up watching some other Thor and Eddie videos on youtube after these. I saw Thor call Eddie out to box. A boxing match between them could generate some money. I would have to watch that one.
Yes they will probably go to the pub after and laugh about all the cash they made...
xWardiPhoenixexactly, marketing at its finest
Interesting how these "new guys" just start and account and slip right in to the rotation. Like they been here for a while ....
Or are they?
What's up " new guy"
I guess I missed your u introduction
AnonFor sure. I don't doubt for a second these guys are bros. I saw them competing against each other and celebrating like bros. I don't see any real hate.
Had a feeling Eddie would respond poorly to Thor's lift. But they claim a 7 figure contract for a boxing match.
Not sure how Eddie will handle Thors reach and the height difference.
https://youtu.be/g7B9Gud8Osg
I hope Thor beats him now .....
All for show though, they'll be hugging and best pals straight after. Followed by hundreds of Youtube vids of them together staying at each others houses .....
If you only beat it by 1 kg then you have lots of other times you can attempt or beat a world record like Eddie did a few times by a kilo each time
TronThe scary thing is... He looked like he had about another 100ibs in him...
X2
This is just fucking insane men but a joy to watch if he would be in my gym as soon as the bar landed back on the ground i would go fucking nuts and screaming free proteinshakes for everybody thanks for the vid press!!
Hell yeah I get excited when I see somebody hit a good life. A guy at my gym squat 900 about 6 months ago. We all went nuts.
Hell yeah. I just seen this. Was going to post it but you beat me to it.
Made it look easy! At his height even though he's huge it's got to be very difficult. Wow. Kudos
I think he is able to lift even more than 501kgs, he worked really hard on his strength
Not sure if there is anyone else on the planet weighing 450 lbs carrying that much muscle. At 6 ft 9 as well.
Not sure why he only went for 1 kg over Eddies record. Thor had more in him IMO should have at least went for 505 kg. But insane how easy he made it look.
Eddies 500 kg almost killed him. Took a real toll on his body during and after the lift. Then again Eddie is only 6'3 and I think he was either 420 or 430 lbs for that lift.
Eddie was just dehydrated
Unless you are joking as Eddie says that before his training on his new videos..,It was more then that. Watch the srs shit behind the scenes that they didn't show. Never mind during the lift he was bleeding from his ears, mouth and nose. His eyes look as if he was ready to stroke out.
Passed out, was convulsing, pulse rate, blood pressure and EKG were off the charts..,machines couldn't read it. It was too high. Eddie says the next day he couldn't remember anyone's names at the party for him. He pushed his body to the limits of death to make that 500 kg dl. As his tat says he is truly "The Beast."
https://youtu.be/-K0chGkV0IE
Both Thor and Eddie did their dead lift records with a dead lift bar and kilo plates. Not an elephant bar and the very large 45 plates that look the same as 100 lb plates.
Kilo plates make the lift harder.
They have 2 Gallons of water retention just in their faces from all the Adrol Lol
best comment , lol !
