Finasteride vs. Dutasteride

ad

Since i was 20 years old I have problems with my hair. This is the reason I use only testosterone+finasteride.
OK..I dont have very full hair but for my age it is ok.
Now i think to give dutasteride a chance. The important thing, it have to work good with testosterone:)

Some guys are using dutasteride?
What is your experience about the effects and side effects?

I think this topic should be in another section not AS, but I'll respond w/ my story. I took them together for two years & they made my hair thickAF but hampered my gains & to some extent my strength! I quit taking them both because of the sexual side effects too! I took 1 mg of finasteride Monday thru Friday & one Duta on Sat. Sunday off.. When you come off you shed like crazy, but it stops after a few weeks. Post Finasteride syndrom is a real thing for some when you come off. It's a weird thing cuz it made the hair on the top of my head head much thicker, but it made the hair on my back and chest thinner or less and my beard patchy. I dont like the compounds for thicker hair. I quit it after years & never looked back. I told myself DHT levels are necessary and suppressing them to oblivion I can't be a good thing. Jumped off that train; still have hair too!

Bud I agree with you - I'll take muscle and strength any day over hair! It's not as if I'm a damn Chippendale for a living Lol

Duatasteride is found to be more effective than Finasteride in reducing serum DHT levels. Finasteride inhibits only type 2 of 5 AR (alpha reductase) where as Dutasteride inhibits both type 1 and type 2 of 5 AR. 5 AR is responsible for converting Test to DHT. Finasteride is FDA approved for hair loss. Dutasteride is FDA approved for BPH.

I´d do dutasteride 1x/week. All you need. Has a halflife of 3-5 weeks (vs. just days for finasteride).

intresting....and you thing only 0,5mg a week is enough?

EagerToLearn's picture

More powerful than 1mg fin ED as dutasteride inhibits all 3 isoenzymes, finasteride only 2

Sorry for my grammer because you missunderstood.

Now I’m 40 years old but I have problems with my hair since 20years.
To keep my hairlost low i use finasteride.

Just change it bud to 'Since I was 20 years old' as I misread it also at first.

If your having issues with your hair at 20 you've either been juicing awhile or your have BAD genetics for pre disposed hair loss. Either way if you've lost that much hair at 20 and you continue down the path your on.. Yes you'll have balded severely but more importantly you'll have life long lasting side effects that will stay with you. Let your body and more importantly your MIND fully develop before you start doing these things. You're so young that you really have no concept right now of time, risk/reward or delayed gratification. Please take this advice man ive literally been you, I've lived it.
