+ 4 7wk 100% off. Bloods

ad

This was some bloods i wanted to get done before i get going on another push with my offseason. Get an idea where I’m at, if i recovered etc.
By the looks of it, I’m extremely surprised I’ve held on to my weight having my text levels at 107!!!!, Still floating 265-268 from my bulk ending around 270-272lbs.
Almost everything seems to be in check from what i can see. AST and alt is high but that’s due to training etc. RBC/HGB/HCT are just past the high mark, I’m thinking that’s somewhat normal for the size i am and what we do but if anything can i lighten me I’m open.
Also if you can tell my vitamin b12 is high and hemoglobins is at the high mark 5.7 and that’s the cut off mark for being high, so not sure if that’s bad or fine.
Estrogen is normal low, and waiting on igf from another lab, guess that takes a few days

Just got the exams back from my heart liver and kidneys, everything checks out perfect he said. Even my blood pressure was down 120/82. Which is weird cause I’ve been running tren at about 300-400mg a week for 4ish weeks now. And last BP check when i was off was 140/90. But could’ve just been nerves etc.
anyways. Glad everything is perfect. Time to kill it!!!

My rbc/hgb/hct is always high even when im off too. I believe its because we aren't normal human size so our normal range is different than regular people. My liver values are higher but consistent for the past 5 years even when i didnt use gear for years. My gastroenterologist said its from training. I had a ultra sound on my liver because i had hep c years ago and was cured but he said it looks fine. I wouldn't get worried brother.

Thanks for your input bro. I appreciate it

Update, my igf in the 3900-4000 range. Normal being 2600-6000.
Also Went over bloods with the doctor. And after going over bloods first with Dave Palombo saying I don’t see what’s really wrong with anything besides my low testosterone and my blood sugar level was slightly elevated but I’m running 85 fasted in the morning but said I’m probably running slightly high after meals since i eat a lot of carbs.
Back to the doctor,, he said that he still concerned because my liver is slightly inflamed and still wants to run ultrasound on my liver and kidneys. Also even though he said my lungs and heart looked perfect, he said he wants to run an echo of something, which also has me more confused because why would you want to if everything seems fine.( just toncharge my insurance to make the hosptial money?) I’m thinking he’s mainly just wanting to run the tests because hospitals usually push that sort of thing because it’s more money for the hospital. I understand we should always listen to our doctor, but at the same time he’s like saying even though your not a diabetic and theres no signs of being so, lest test if you are a diabetic even further with these expensive tests just to make sure the last tests weren’t done right, like really.

On top of that he almost didn’t even care about my 106 test level, asking me are you taking anythjng to make it lower? Almost accusing me or trying to alter it or somethjng.
And then brushes it off like i can refer you to a specialist “100 miles away” to see if he’d want to get you on trt.
Like what? I’m 106 level, why i need to travel that far for them to say hey, your 106, maybe we should prescribe you trt.....so frustrating

Any thoughts?
I’m still going to go in and get the ultrasound and the echo on my heart because my insurance covers it but I just think it’s BS and something for them to just test for to get money from my insurance and to meet like a quota

Not bad at all! How’s your blood pressure and when’s the last time you had an ekg?

Mrcoolbeans's picture

130/93 was my blood pressure.
And sorry but ekg?

growthman's picture

Agreed diastolic is slightly high, but certainly not terrible for 260-270 lbs. Also agree that an echocardiogram is way better, but most start with an ekg, much cheaper (+/-$60). If the ekg is abnormal, then it’s time to see a cardiologist and get the echo for sure. Bodybuilding at a high level wrecks the cardiovascular system, so best to be smart and manage these things so they don’t become a problem.

Also, I’d encourage to invest $5-$10 at Walmart on some milk thistle for your liver. Being double the max isn’t just from training brother. Your liver is working hard and not yet detoxed. Especially if you intend on running any orals during your next push.

Mrcoolbeans's picture

Thanks for letting me know about that. And ya!!! I always run two things during cycle, usually nac and thistle or Tudca and thistle. Never hear people asking about heart stuff.

Thanks for being such a valued member to our community. Grateful to have you brother. Hope the fam is good!

Exact same, and I have posted about it in the last few months. 2-3 abnormal ekg’s due to slight LVH, huge cause for concern. A couple of months ago I got in with a cardiologist specializing in athletes. The cardiologist did a full work up. He and his staff 1st listened to my heart, which sounded normal to them. That might sound funny but I had joked with them and my wife that I was so paranoid I didn’t know if they were going to want to ‘throw me on the table for open heart surgery.’ I passed a stress test on a treadmill, and did an echocardiogram to rule out anything/everything. Echo was normal. LVH was very mild. EF was 50-55 or 55-60, not bad at all (normal). Since then I’ve been doing much more cardio, pursuant to their recommendation. After 15+ years of bodybuilding competitions, which was 80-90% weights and 10-20% cardio, they suggested that cardio and weights were more balanced; 50/50.

How about you? I’d love to hear about your experience as well. We need to preach the importance of heart health to save lives on here!

Wow thanks for sharing. I most certainly have downsized. I can relate. Years of being big causes us to identify with that. For me, the decision to downsize has been easy as I’ve been blessed with 2 babies within the last couple of years, and I view my decision to downsize as life and death. Am I more comfortable being bigger? Yes. Do I love food? Yes. Do I prefer training heavy vs light. Yes. All that said I made a pact with God and my wife to put longevity over bodybuilding. It’s been extremely difficult.
Have you done much to combat you blood sugar? If not, I would encourage you to get that blood sugar under control stat. I think you’d be shocked at what 3-4 weeks of low to no carbs will do to reset your fasted blood sugar levels.
You’re a big dude, and those #’s are certainly impressive. That said I believe lifespan and body weight/size correlate. Great Danes have half the lifespan of a chihuahua (unfortunately).
What are your thoughts?

It must be extremely difficult to stop doing what makes you very happy in life, I guess things totally change though once you become a parent.

growthman's picture

For me, yes. Just to get back on track to this being Mr. Cool Beans’ thread. From prior discussions he also has a family. I think bodybuilding at a high level can be done with a family. Just not for me Smile

Mrcoolbeans's picture

Yes it’s very difficult. Two littles myself. I just love bodybuilding, and the gym. I’m still learning the balance but I’ve came along way since i started when it comes to balancing life/family and competitive bb.
Thanks guys for sharing

Does anyone have any idea why some blood work only show test levels going to 1500 and maxes out. I’d there anything i can say or ask the doctor to not have a max so i can see the true numbers? Guessing my test will be a lot higher then 1500 being on 750mg a week.

pickle's picture

Depends on the testing method. To show test results higher than 1500 ask for the LC/MS-MS version.

Not sure where you are located or if testing yourself is an option but LabsMD has a female hormone panel for $75 that shows Test up to 10k, estro, and a bunch of the other basics. Its my go to each month.

Mrcoolbeans's picture

Ok great!! Good to know. I figured I’ll run it for 2-3 weeks. Should be enough to time to let the cyp start climbing in my system while the prop should be in an jugging.

Mrcoolbeans's picture

Ok maybe I’ll wait a bit longer, I’ll be running tren at that point and maybe a little eq so I’ll have to keep thag in mind with estro etc

Mrcoolbeans's picture

I’m 100% off test guys. I’m not running anythjng, and haven’t for the past 7 weeks. I plan on starting my bulk in a couple weeks time and then after a couple weeks of running 150mg week of prop and 600 cyp, I’ll get bloods again.

press1's picture

Wow Those are low Test levels - So is there even any hormone in the gear you have been taking?

press1's picture

Nothing to do with you is it?

press1's picture

I'm not your man and don't try to talk down to me either.

press1's picture

I know I thought that after I wrote the comment lol, an actual gram of test!
