Anyone Fast with Var before?

ad

F/34 5’3” 140lbs lifting 7 years- power total 625

I know the whole “must eat to gain” thing, but I am fasting for a whole 30 days for healing purposes and the anabolics can help with the healing while also protecting muscle wasting.

My main goal isn’t really to add a ton of muscle, though I will be at the gym 5 days/wk to protect from wasting. I have a lot of muscle mass on me, for my size, hidden under a healthy padding. I want to get more lean while healing a serious gut issue, so fasting is a perfect answer. I’ve fasted before with great success. I’m taking l-glutamine, electrolytes, iron, testosterone replacement, and water and currently on day 6 of my fast.
What I would like to know is if var is hard on your stomach and if anyone has taken it on empty before? I’m sure a lot of you are going to be angry about the fast thing, but I’m grown. It’s ok, all my muscles aren’t going to fall off and leave me with just bones and half a brain and/or heart.

giardap's picture

A buddy of mine does small fasts during cuts and uses var, says he likes it

but what you are doing is not a fast, but starvation

anyway. if it were me, I would absolutely 100% focus on anadrol for muscle wasting. Proven medical treatment versus steroid forum fad.

This said, I am a man, and you are female? Or is there something more to the picture? I ask in terms of physiology which is probably important when considering compounds.

Jennifer32's picture

I do supplement with testosterone but only to the level I am medically ‘suppose’ to have. I do not increase this amount because I am afraid of any androgen type symptoms, I’m feminine and want to stay that way. I don’t know much about anadrol, I chose var because it seemed safer for women and the most anabolic. I don’t like ripped, just like shaping my body. Don’t get me wrong, the women that do that are amazing and work hard, it’s just not for me.

Starvation, by definition means to die from lack of nutrition or food. That is not what I am doing. As I said, I am under a doctor’s care and am being given micronutrients and the correct aminos to direct my body’s fast during healing. I actually am not hungry at all today and have a ton of energy. I’ll be at the gym lifting since my hgh should be pretty high this week.

Perhaps this article may interest you, there is a link inside the article to the medical journals written on the case study if you are into the science behind fasting.

Never heard of nor thought of incorporating compounds with a fasting protocol.

However if your reason is gut related I would wary of utlizing an oral while fasting. Orals such as oxandrolone have similiar effects on healthy gut bacteria as antibiotics. To that effect , if gut is the trouble than you may end up doing more harm than good.

Good luck to you.

Jennifer32's picture

Good to know. I have a complex case and am under a specialist doctor’s care. I just finished up a round of antibiotics that only kills the bad bacteria and keeps the good. Luckily my insurance covered it because it was well into the thousands for a 3 week supply. It didn’t help though. This fast along with a regime of micronutrients and select amino acids are just another treatment to try on a long list. It worked for me 3 years ago and I had relief for about 2 years.

Fasting like this isn’t something I would recommend to anyone unless medically supervised and necessary. To whoever said I would do this twice in a year, no way. You are right about dangerous. I’m not obese and don’t have the fat to sustain such an undertaking. I would most likely die.

I do appreciate all the replies and the extent of your knowledge. I will wait several weeks to start var after the fast ends and I am acclimated to solid foods again and am able to lift heavy. I will talk to my doctor about it as well. I wasn’t aware of the bacteria kill off.

That was a amazing breakdown of a 30day fast and what to expect. I would love to try that myself but doubt I cld get past day 7. Lol

Now on to what ur asking. It sounds like u have alot going on here. Sounds like uve also done this fasting before. If so, I cant see this being good doing more than once a year. Sounds as if one is riding the line of death? Your also working out and wanting to take var and wanting to lean out and save muscle and dealing w docs over low T. But All and all u do seem to be very in tune w urself.

So, imo....Might want to just focus on one thing at a time. From what I'm understanding, the main purpose of a long fast is to get ur body repairing at a super advanced rate that isnt achievable in any other way. Its sounds to be a place of mind, body, and spirit. Dont cloud it up with gym and workingout or even supplements. Let ur body heal and enjoy this moment. I can only imagine the self discipline and pain that goes into achieving this goal. Good luck and pls update us during this..

Ive fasted with it. Just came off a 25 day fast bringing in the new year 2019. Best 25 days of my life really for reasons unknown to many. I took some var during my fast for 3 days then it made me feel really shakey so my fast ended with that. Having fasted then trying to pump really defeated any purpose for me as a pump was really not possible. I was leaner than all hell striations everywhere but a true pump could not be achieved.

During my fast i ate completely nothing but did drink coffee and plenty of water plus a muscle protect BCAA drink. Now that im over the fast ny body us gaining great weight with the addition of the Var which i will be substituting for dbol to get some water weight on my skinny frame

Thank you. Super helpful. I’ll wait until the fast is over to take the var. the fast is more important.

If you are trying to sort out a gut issue you need to figure out what’s causing it. People just eliminate all good food because of one thing causing an issue. Intermittent fasting would likely do the trick but try different diets to see if it’s a gluten/wheat/soy allergy. Also one supplement I’d suggest adding to your daily regimen is

“Genius Digestive optimizer” Enzymes for Digestion & Total Wellness | Restore Gut Heath w/Bromelain, Ginger Root & Prebiotics – Natural Relief Formula for Gas, Heartburn, Constipation.

Get it on amazon it seriously is a game changer. Hope this helps.

Fasting heals a lot of things. Here is a run down on a basic 30 day that many people do on the regular. I don’t believe in all of it, but it has helped me heal problems before.

30 day fast symptoms

Fasting Stages & Associated Symptoms of Each(Most of the symptoms, if they appear, are usually transient – lasting only a day or two)
Stage 1: Psychological Hunger (Days 1 thru 2-3)• Blood Sugar levels drop below 70mg/dl• Liver glycogen is converted to glucose and released into the blood (enough for ½ day)• The body reduces basal metabolic rate (to conserve energy)• The heart slows and blood pressure is reduced• Glycogen is pulled from the muscles• Quick loss of weight is noticed, mainly due to loss of water
Typical Symptoms for this Stage:
1 Psychological hunger cravings (sometimes intense)
2 Irritability
3 Weakness
4 Breach of sleep
5 Acute reaction on look/scent/conversations about eating
6 Sucking pain in stomach
7 Discomfort of intestines
8 Muscle weakness
9 Headaches
10 Dizziness or lightheadedness (from lowering blood pressure)
11 Digestive upset
12 Flatulence
13 Nausea and vomiting are possible
14 Bad breath
15 Mucousy stools
16 Glazed eyes
17 Heavily coated tongue (a thick white or yellow fur coating, which can be scraped or brushed off)
18 Skin odors/eruptions may appear
19 Bad dreams
Stage 2: Acidosis (Days 2-3 thru 7-9)• Fats are broken down to release glycerol and converted to glucose• The energy for maintenance of basal metabolism is almost entirely met by the use of free fatty acids and ketones• Increased norepinephrine (adrenalin) levels prevent the decrease in metabolic rate (after Day 5)• Appetite is suppressed as ketones are formed by the incomplete oxidation of fats• High levels of growth hormone (HGH) maintain muscle growth and lean tissues (after Day 5 – also the best time to exercise, due to the high levels of HGH)• The body vigorously throws off acid waste products• Scent of acetone from the mouth and metallic aftertaste in the mouth appears• The tongue is covered by a white-grayish patch• Ketone bodies are increasing in urine and reach its maximum on day 7-9• Rancid oils are purged from the body• Toxic waste in the blood• Cleansing and repair of organs and lungs begins• The colon is being repaired and impacted feces on the intestinal wall start to loosen and are autolyzed
Typical Symptoms for this Stage:
1 Fatigue
2 Blurred vision
3 Possible dizziness
4 Nervousness
5 Backaches
6 Muscle tightness (the legs are the worst affected as toxins accumulate in the legs)
7 Cold virus (aka the body eliminating toxins)
8 Emotional disturbances (if eating was used for emotional comfort)
9 Occasional daytime weakness, drowsiness as well as breach of sleep
10 Rare but possible sickness, nausea and vomiting
11 Moderate bradicardia (48-60 beats per minute), possibly leading to blackouts
12 Blood pressure drops (be warned to get up slowly and avoid sharp movements)
13 Mild hypoglycemia
14 Potassium and urea decrease
15 Oily skin
16 Possible pimples and/or boils
17 Clogged sinuses (from periodic expelling of the lymphatic system, expelling mucoid matter through the nose and throat, sometimes in shocking quantities)
18 Foul breath
19 Pallid complexion
20 Tongue is coated with a bad-tasting dryish mucus
21 Urine may be concentrated and foul (unless a good deal of water is taken daily)
Stage 3: Normalization (Days 7-9 thru 14-16)• Enhanced energy• Clear-mindedness• An increasing sense of well-being• Acidic blood chemistry is gradually corrected• The body’s healing process is at optimum efficiency• The body scours for dead/damaged tissue, secreting substances to dissolved the damaged cells, irritating the nerves in the surrounding region• Toxin irritation of the muscles (especially the legs)• Excessive bacteria in the mouth
Typical Symptoms for this Stage
1 Daily loses of weight decrease
2 Dreams on food subjects
3 Old injuries may become irritated and painful as a result of the body’s increased ability to heal
4 Sore/tight muscles (the legs being the worst due to toxin accumulation)
5 Canker sores
Stage 4: Accelerated Healing (Days 16 – 30)• The body is completely adapted to the fasting process• The body now has more energy• The mind has heightened clarity and emotional balance• Damaged tissue is now being replaced• Cleansing periods can be short with many days of feeling good in between• Symptoms of diseases significantly decrease or disappear completely• Glucose, cholesterol, potassium, urea, bilirubin normalize• There are now days when the tongue is pink and the breath is fresh• The healing work of the organs is being completed• The body works at maximum capacity in tissue proliferation to replace damaged tissue (after the detoxification mechanisms have removed the causative agent or rendered it harmless; while a short fast will reduce symptoms, a longer fast can completely heal)• The lymphatic system is basically clean• After day 20, the mind is affected with heightened clarity and emotional balance• Memory and concentration improve• Arthritic deposits dissolve• Scar tissues tend to disappear• Damaged organs regain lost function (if they can)• Seriously ill people begin to heal
Typical Symptoms for this Stage
1 Shorter cleansing days
2 Rare discharge of mucus through the nose and throat
Stage 5 (30 - ?): Breaking the Fast with the genuine return of Natural Hunger• The Breath becomes sweet and clean• The Tongue becomes clean• Body Temperature returns to normal, where it remains• Pulse becomes normal in time and rhythm• Skin reactions and other reactions become normal• Salivary secretion becomes normal• Eyes become bright and eye sight improves• Excreta loses its odor• Urine becomes light• Hunger returns, indicating that the fast is to be broken; all other indications are secondary. Often one or more of the above secondary signs are absent when hunger returns, but one should not refrain from breaking the fast when there is an unmistakable demand for food.

That is a lot of info. Didn't realize how in depth it got. +2 Good luck on your fast Jen

Wow that is very in depth break down! Very very interesting for sure. If I could be out of work for the entire 30 days I'd like to try it. I dont think it would be ideal for someone who works 12 hour shift work. I still find this very intriguing!

I see you are female - what is the testosterone replacement you are taking out of interest? Many do take orals on an empty stomach as they are supposodly more effective and get into the bloodstream quicker, however I always take them after food so then its easier on the stomach and I don't get pain/wind.

I inject IM under a doctor’s care biweekly. My number was zero. I wanted the high end of the spectrum, haven’t been able to get there. Stuck somewhere in the middle no matter how much I put in my body. I’ve switched doctors and tried everything. My dhea is high, my Vit D is high all my other hormones are normal. I’ll see what the new doctor can do for me.

"My main goal isn’t really to add a ton of muscle"

I think u should do the whole "must eat to gain" proccess to add size, there is NO replacement for food.

And if you have a gut issue u must accept that you'll loose muscles, using any oral compound makes here defo no sense if there is no way to give 100%.

Get well soon and then start to give 100% in each workout and plan a good diet , trust me thats the key for getting huge -not any oral compound which possibly causes intestinal problems again.

I take Var sublingually. Af ew people have reported stomach issues but most have not. However, fasten completely if that's what you're doing is not a great idea! You might be better off doing a Keto diet.
