+ 9 Current diet

ad
  1. 8 egg whites, 2 whole eggs, spinach, mushroom, almond milk - scrambled with sweetener.

  2. Protein coffee with almond milk maybe some fruit if I need the energy

  3. Tuna, mix of veg, small handful of walnuts

  4. Lean mince beef and some quinoa, veg and walnuts

  5. Workout days I’ll have a iso protein shake post workout.

  6. Depending on the day this can vary as the Mrs eats this meal with me and she refuses to eat the same thing daily so it’ll usually be meat of some kind, salad, low calorie sauce and possibly low fat cheese.

  7. Sugar free jelly (love the stuff) and greek yoghurt

  8. If I’m still hungry I’ll have a protein shake or omelet before bed

I’ve calculated it a while ago and I was roughly eating

Around 1,700 calories
200/250 protein, I forget the carbs/fats.

I’m feeling great on this diet, I’m full of energy, still killing the gym, a little flat but when I do occasionally up the carbs the pump is unreal and more importantly the body fat is falling off me. I shop the same every week so I know how many meals I get out of a packed of mince so I no longer weigh things out, but if anyone is interested I could work it out for you, they’re small portions and bulked up with a lot of veg!

When I get back to bulking I’ll lower the fats and replace them with clean carbs like quinoa and sweet potato 500 calories above maintenance.

I cycle caffeine, and don’t use it passed 12pm, I try and get a solid 8 hours sleep (when possible with 2 children under the age of 2), drink 6 litres of water daily minimum, walk +/- 10 miles a day. Fairly affordable diet for those on a budget and with a spice rack bigger than vhman’s joke book it keeps things interesting.

I hope more members post up there diets so we can build up a solid library of information on here.

Man, thank you so much for the post! I’ve been looking for some meal plans to get me going, and this will be a huge start while I create my own!

I agree that people should post more about their plans to help others. This GREATLY helped me in between research.

You’re welcome mate. Once you Taylor your own diet plan add it up and you’ll get lots of advice to help you on your journey of weight loss

as it mentioned below healthy fats broski ,nuts avocado ,or not the best if cutting peanut butter,or 2 tablespoons a day of olive oil will do the job.+1 for post keep grinding! sorry I just noticed the trade of avocado with nuts!

GrowMore's picture

I’m going to get some avocado oil and use that in with my meals, I need to sit down again and work out the macros. Or I’ll see about some oily fish as I prefer to eat calories to fill me up rather than oil

alekaras's picture

never tried avocado oil ? how is it ? tasteless like the fruit I imagine?

Thank you for posting up brother.

If anything to critique,
I see a lack of healthy fats, oils, nor omega rich fish sources.

Healthy fats are critical and usually entirely over looked.

GrowMore's picture

This is why I posted it mate, I was hoping for some guidance.

Do you think 3,000 dha and epa is enough healthy fats?

That’s 5 high strength fish oil tables am and pm.

I was eating an avocado a day which was great for fats and fibre however the cost was raising up I was throwing 1 out of every 5 away so I swapped them for walnuts.

Dr.BroScience's picture

As far as I am concerned I am always for a high healthy fat diet esp the lower the carb count.

As for fish oil tabs, I prefer to use mine in the am and midday postworkout as I find that works optimum for me. I am all for Avocados, but you are correct, the price varies wildly. Throwing them away also can never be an option for success.

Walnuts are quality source as are my favorite , almonds.

Nothing , however , can compare to eating fresh omega rich wild Fish.

Spending the little extra to get Wild Salmon is always worth it. Much like the little extra cost in free range organic eggs. Always, always, always, got for the better food products. After all the food is becoming a part of you.
Also try other fresh fish sources rich in omegas such as Makerel , Porgie, Anchovie, Sardine, Blue, and a host of others. Whole fresh wild foods and diversity of protein sources is essential.

Avocados were becoming a nightmare because of the fact they take a long time to ripen then over ripen very quickly.

Money is an issue with a small family at home however tinned mackerel is relatively cheap if brought in bulk and easy to eat on the go so I’ll see about including that into the diet if possible. Thanks bro

I eat a quarter cup of walnuts every day.

In 7 or 8 weeks ill give this a go and cut up a little. Still lookimg to get to 225 before i do any real cutting.

GrowMore's picture

Thanks mate, couldn’t help but get inspired by your post. I probably ask 3 members a week on their diet so it would be great to see it posted on the public fourms more.

I saw yours and mak’s conversation about a mini cut during a bulk, ill follow something similar in winter.

I think i just lost 3 pounds reading that. Now i got to go have a 1000 cal snack.

Ive grown to also LOVE. SUGAR FREE red raspberry preserve jelly.. BUT im an almond or pistachio over walnuts lol.. plain black coffee.. also like 2oz oscar mayer seasoned deli chicken breast in my omelettes for another 10 gram protein 1gram fat.

GrowMore's picture

Sugar free jelly is number one on my cutting diet mate! I need to try and get chicken breast back into my diet, that would be a good way of doing it as it would hide the blandness of chicken which I’m sick off.

Diet plan looks great bro....probably gonna change mine up a bit now

GrowMore's picture

Post it up bro!

Sam I Am's picture

That looks great. You can get 250 protein on 2000 calories with mainly food easy.

Thanks sam, 250 on workout day and 200 on non workout days or there abouts keeps me happy.

I used to spend my days researching gear but the more time I spend studying and asking members about dieting the bigger and leaner I’m getting.

alekaras's picture

imo you keep you protein same on non training days you grow when you rest broski, and low the carbs no training less energy expenditure less carbs!!

GrowMore's picture

Looking at the diet I could trade the quinoa and continue having a protein shake on no workout days which will keep the calories down but protein up. Good shout. I’ve been looking into casein protein as we spoke about as it would be easier than an omelet before bed.

alekaras's picture

yes buddy casein straight or mixed with a yogurt goes down really smooth way way better then omelette, especially with this heat !!

Sam I Am's picture

Anybody can take gear but diet takes planning, education and discipline. Not to mention alot of money.

I agree with the planning , education, and discipline 100%.

That being said, you do not need a lot of money to eat a healthy bodybuilding diet.

I was floating around the net watching videos. Came across one of Jay Cutler. His girl was shaving his back. From there i read aomething about his grocery bill is $100,000 a year. I cant even comprehend that.

He obviously doesn’t look for the bargains
