how to make the best of my TRT

ad

Hi Everyone,

I'm 36 and was just prescribed 50mg of testosterone to be applied to by balls x 2 a day. I'm 5'11", 184lbs and need to drop 17 pounds. doc wants me to gain 4 pounds of muscle and lose 3 pounds of fat. Basically I'm on 700mg of test a week. I'm a computer scientist and really want to look great. I jog twice a week, but have no joined a gym yet. I have a couple of questions.
1. is this cream going to have the dame impact as injectables
2. can anyone recommend a great body weight routine until I join a gym
3. I'm also on thyroid meds which kill my appetite
4. How long will it take to start seeing my hormone levels increase?

my diet is in check, very low carbs. high protein, fish, no junk food, and dont drink.

I’m going to give your points back. I think Switch called this right. To answer your question the cream will raise your levels for awhile and then become less and less effective. You can cross contaminate with the stuff so be careful. I also recommend shaving the application area. No homo I’ve used the patches and gels. They suck. Request the shot. Goodluck

Absolutely accurate, Sam! Creams and gels will raise levels for a period of time but what goes wrong for most individuals on these is that they do not regularly rotate application sites (weekly) which leads to receptor down regulation at the site of application and this of course results less effectiveness of the medication over time. Another issue is that people do not typically take the time to rub the cream in for at least two minutes in a circular pattern, and allow near 30 min for it to set in before getting dressed, which will decrease absorption. It’s been shown in multiple clinical applications and studies that topical testosterone does not elevate serum testosterone well, but should be measured and monitored via saliva testing.

I also personally don’t like creams or gels because of transference to partners, as well as the fact they are messy and inconvenient. Patches would be great if the skin irritation wasn’t so prominent and insurance would cover the damn things but they are expensive.

I used the androderm patches at one time. Your correct the skin irritation was very uncomfortable. Axiom goes on like deodorant but I’ve never heard of one you rub on your nuts. I’d rather just take my shots.

This is a terrible post, but just so other members understand- topical testosterone is absorbed and metabolized differently than injectable testosterone. “50mg” twice daily does not equate to 700mg of IM testosterone each week.

That’s very true but I’m not sure that’s what he meant.

700 test a week was my question, but it was answered here..
For gels to act I think different math applies.
Haven't tried them.
Good info here.
