AntiDepressants that Increase Sex Drive / Libido (Pro-Sexual Anti-Depressants List)
While most antidepressants are known for 'killing' libido, or decreasing sex drive significantly, there are some others that do the opposite, for many.
In this article we are going to go over those as well as the mechanisms of each of these drugs, and the WHY each one has its own difference. Each medication has its own section and Picture here, so as to make the whole read easier and understandable. This list includes all current (up to 2017) Psychiatric medications used for Major Depressive Disorder (M.D.D) which is the clinical classification for Depression.
As a general rule, medications that block the breakdown or reuptake of Serotonin tend to decrease sex drive, whereas medications that block serotonin receptors tend to increase libido, IF they do not also have anti-dopamine or anti-glutamate actions. The drugs used for smoking cessation tend to have dual benefit as anti-depressants and are very strong in that regard. Certain drugs have more plausible benefit for libido than others due to purely pharmacokinetic differences; including in absorption and absolute bioavailability.
NOTE: I've gone through a lot of lab-testing and a lot of personal trial-and-error to find sites / stores that are legitimate and high-purity, simply click the medication name below to be directed to the store/buying page, they are also the best prices I could find on them.
THE LIST - SO WHICH IS THE BEST DEPRESSION MED FOR SEX DRIVE?
1.) Wellbutrin/Zyban/Bupropion : Easily hits number 1 on this list purely because it only affects (and enhances) dopamine system activity [1], with some effect on norepinephrine [2] and some mild anti-nicotinic/anti-cholinergic activity [3] as lesser effects. Wellbutrin is incredibly popular in the United States as a ''quit smoking aid'', it is thought that Wellbutrin decreases both cravings and the effects of nicotine [4] [5] in part by blocking the receptors that Nicotine binds to (nicotinic-acetylcholine-receptors) thereby blocking the 'subjective' effects of Nicotine [6] [7].
Wellbutrin also has the ability to result in rapid anti-depressant effects when administered at a dose between 150 - 300 mg per day, 150 mg x2 a day is a reasonable dose for most people with actual Depression [8] [9].
The drug is well-tolerated and people tend to like the pro-sexual/recreational benefits as it heightens sensation, pleasure/arousal and libido drastically [10].
It can be bought by the pill, meaning you can choose to buy 5 pills or 10 or 30, or 60 etc it can be bought --> HERE
2.) Aurorix/Moclobemide : Moclobemide is a MAO-A or monoamine-oxidase-A inhibitor [11] which boosts libido by blocking the breakdown of monoamines and catecholamines, it elevates dopamine levels [12] [13] and can also increase Testosterone levels in Men [14].
Moclobemide is very effective at enhancing mainly the male libido, and keeping hormones healthy, but it may be effective for Women who take it as well [15].
Be sure to take all medication as prescribed, including Aurorix/Moclobemide.
Typical dose of moclobemide is >300 mg / day.
3.) Agomelatine : Agomelatine is a relatively new anti-depressant which is also a good anti-anhedonic (anhedonia is the inability to feel pleasure or satisfaction from activities and lack of emotional quality). Agomelatine is unique in that it antagonizes/blocks the 5-HT2C serotonin receptor [16] [17] [18]; leading to enhanced dopamine/noradrenaline release in Humans [19] [20]. The drug is very safe, and VERY effective at relieving symptoms of Depression [21] [22]. It also improves Insomnia effectively [23].
The rest of Agomelatine's actions relate to melatonin-agonism (stimulation) which can improve neuron growth in the Brain/nervous system and can treat Insomnia/Sleep Difficulties effectively [24] [25].
Agomelatine thus is very useful, it can be bought at Ceretropic in the form of powder, if you want brand pills, ask your Doc for a script. It enhances dopamine and noradrenaline and promotes libido in the vast majority of people who use it.
4.) Trazodone : Trazodone is an effective anti-depressant [26] and sleep aid [27] as well as anti-anxiety pill [28], and can treat/eliminate erectile dysfunction, including severe cases in Young patients [29] [30] [31] and in some of the Elderly [32]. It increases 'sexual arousal' rather than libido, in the classical sense, but still is considered a pro-sexual agent with anti-depressant properties, and in that sense, is the best drug in its class.
Trazodone has been used for a long time, almost as long as tricyclics and has incredible long-term benefits, but does have a hypotensive effect [33], particularly at higher doses [34] and when combined with other medications that affect blood pressure [35].
The medication is generally well-tolerated.
5.) Mirtazapine/Remeron : Classified as an 'atypical anti-depressant' and specifically as a noradrenaline and serotonin system modulator, a complex mechanism of action involving alpha-2-blockade and downregulation [36] [37] and serotonin 5-HT2A/2C blockade; leading to enhancement of frontal dopamine/noradrenaline release.
Though sedating at low doses (15 mg), Remeron's antidepressant benefits become more apparent at doses of >30 mg up to 45 mg and 60 mg being maximum dose [38].
The benefits of this drug are many, it has beneficial effects on stress hormones, lowers cortisol/ACTH and decreases Prolactin levels. It may even increase longevity and have anti-aging effects on the cardiovascular system and on cells in general. It can be used for libido and general strength & Vigor.

AnonWellbutrin is also prescribed as an appetite suppressant too. One of the prominent side effects is appetite suppression and weight loss. This has been studied and proven.
Feminam libido herbal pills for highter libido http://www.feminamlibido.com/
Area-1255Updated article!
When I was younger doc put me on paxil that shit killed any thought of a libido. I could have played tug a war for 6hrs and never get off. That's some of the worse shit ive ever taken. It sent me into a fucked up mind state for a while. There were a few others that done me bad but none like paxil. I take lamotrigen now and it really helps. It doesn't increase my libido but it doesn't hurt it any. Really to be honest every since I started self trt ive felt a better than ive ever felt on and mood staiblelizer/antidepressant. I couldn't ever get a Dr to help me with lowT I guess because it was at the very low end of normal for a 34yr old then. Ive self trt'ed now for almost 4yrs and I can tell a huge difference in my mood and well-being along with all the other positive sides that come along with it. Antis are extremely hurtful if not dosed correctly or if not taken correctly I know that first hand.
Area-1255Yeah there's no good reason to use an SSRI IMHO when there are plenty of better options out there. Hormonal improvement usually corrects Depression, at least to some extent. Problem is, most Doc's have no clue what hormonal improvement means nor do they check other variables like E2 or Prolactin by default. You would think with all the breast cancer in the USA and elsewhere, that at least for that sake they would check E2 more often.
Did you write this? Or did JayZin De'Russo? Where are your references?
Area-1255I am JayZin De'Russo, the lead admin of Area-1255. If you haven't noticed already, we aren't just a blog, we're an organization. Mostly for the purposes of amplifying and advancing the life extension/transhumanist movement. But we also maintain a small chemical supply chain in NYC and have an active paid writers crew. some are volunteers but most of our writers are on it for the payroll. we have associates everywhere, globally.
and the references are on the origin page, encompassed in "[]" that when clicked, bring you to the page in question.
I guess I'm going to have to be the dumbass here. What is a transhumanist movement? Remember guys I'm a senior and not up on most things. No homo just in case.
Area-1255Because we are all (or mostly) juicers here, we are already a part of the transhumanist movement since our aim is better living, bigger, stronger, more agile and we are constantly improving every aspect of ourselves; therefore we are all indirectly a part of that movement!
Area-1255Its essentially the movement that states that we (as humans) can become anything, that we can use the current and future technologies that exist to achieve a level of intellect not normally thought is possible and that we can essentially enhance ourselves to the degree that we are a new being altogether. What is mostly rhetoric, but that particular reference meaning that we can end aging or get close to it - and that we can create things and do things that have never been done before.
Therefore, transhumanism is the idea that we can become something more by fully utilizing the technologies available to us and the technologies of the future.
That would include : cryotherapy, cryogenics, electromagnetic stimulation, new magnetic technologies, nootropics, gene therapy, nutritional advances, muscle enhancement etc.
So cyborg xmen that don't die and all look 29? As long as we can allow women to keep the 22 year old version of their chest forever I'm in. (If they choose to of course lol)
FR sent bro. I may have some questions you may be able to help me with. You have some good reads. Thanks for posting this up my man.
I think society has always been that way. Just look at the avg life expectancies over the last 100 years. Sadly my children's are supposedly lower. The first time this has happened. You can blame fast food and microwaves. In the 70s if you wanted to eat you either cooked or made a sandwich. Not all technology has been good related to nutrition.
Gotcha. I've read most of your articles but got to say I almost never go to your website. I try and keep my traffic on BFG's website. I didn't notice the links were embedded until you said something. You might want to figure out how to embed those references on this post as well. That would be cool by making it easier for our members to get it all in here without having to leave the site.
Area-1255Is there a way to hyperlink them on here?
I know you can bold and italicize with "*" and "**". I'll figure it out.
I could just put the original references at the bottom, but admittedly on these particular post was too lazy to put them in there a second time. I'll get it done.
I feel you on the lazy part. All that work takes time. It's why after a while i stopped doing write up article type posts. Between work, the family, cooking and gym time it's hard to find the time for anything else.
I wish you had time to be more active like the old days, your write ups were some of the best eroids has had.
Real life articles that made sense.
Not wanna be dr literature.
Hoping you make a come back bro your contributions have been.missed.
Us vets will always appreciate what you have and do for our community bro.
Thank you Sir.
Great article. Printing this for my Mrs. Her low libido makes a tren run hell on earth!
Thanks for sharing +
Area-1255Thanks for your input.
Paxil gives me a limp dick so I quit takeing it. Remeron doesn't seem to effect my drive and I sleep great. I'm going to ask about some of these. Great thread.
I didn't get a limp dick from paxil I had to stop taking it because I couldn't get off. I'd go for like an hour and the wife would just say enough already.
It had the same effect on me. I hated it. Its some rough shit IMHO.
Area-1255I fucking hate that shit, that's why I haven't taken any SSRI since 15. I understand it might help some people. But for me, that shits for the toilet.
You know honestly my moods are better and more stable on a test with provi cycle... I just feel my best.
Yep I've got like four fucking vials of the pills in the cupboard. Damn CVs wouldn't stop the autofill and the wife didn't know any better
Why no selegiline listed? As a MAO-B selective inhibitor worked well for me (as does caber).
Area-1255Its not a typical antidepressant and in many countries that's not its primary indication. I can add it to the list for information purposes.
Thanks once again for a great write up.
Is the increased libido primarily for males? My wife has been on Zoloft for some time, and I hate it. She's too happy with the results in her mood to change it, but it's honestly messing my mood up. Her libido is almost nonexistent.
Area-1255Yes, but Wellbutrin has been known (and studied) to treat to female-sexual dysfunction associated with SSRI's, so if you have her talk to her Doc about adding Wellbutrin to her anti-depressant, they are both anti-depressants and ''boost each other'' is a common word Psych's use to describe the 'why' of combining Bupropion (Wellbutrin) with a current anti-depressant medication...and yeah dude, I know its funny how women can be so content on some of these pills, and yet lose their libido and be content too, is this a common cognitive dysfunction for Women? lmao.
Here's some research on Wellbutrin, btw, it can also be prescribed ''to help quit smoking'', may be a way to mention it to her Doc in the context of ''she's started smoking again and needs to quit ASAP'' ;)

Unfortunately for me, she's taking Wellbutrin as well. I think the Zoloft just over powers the benefits. She was on it prior to the Zoloft, and it was a beautiful world. For myself anyway. Lol.
They've recently lowered her dose so in hoping the effects are lessened.
I'm on trazadone and my doc said increased libido may be a side effect but I never noticed any.
All these drugs come with a variety of potential side effects. Playing with your brain chemistry is a dangerous game.
Trust me bro.....when you have real depression you will take anything to get back to normal.
Sideffects are nothing compared to how you really feel...or don't feel
So true. Words cannot describe it. This is one of the best depictions I've seen, but even still it doesnt do it justice:
Jesus mate!
That pretty much sums it up. After roughly 6 years now I've still not beaten my demons....
Thank you for posting. I'm on zoloft, trazodone, seroquel and prazosin. I have sexual side effects with my meds. The nurse practitioner dropped my zoloft from 100 to 50, but im still having problems. Im gonna mention the above meds at my next appt.
Drop the seroquel that's some nasty shit. It turned me into a zombie hell worst than one. It gave me the restless legs so bad I nearly lost what little bit of mind I had left.
Area-1255In that case its the Zoloft and Seroquel causing your ''sexual side-effects'', and quite honestly, that's a very dangerous combination you are on...why in the hell would anyone prescribe not One, not Two but THREE drugs with alpha-blocking action, that's Insanity! You are on Trazodone; blocks alpha-1-receptors, you are on Seroquel; blocks alpha-1-receptors, you are on PRAZOSIN, which BY DEFINITION is an alpha-1-blocker, whoever prescribed this combination is a real jackass, just saying, you are likely lowering your blood pressure far too much with this combination and it needs to remedied ASAP.
I would START by switching out Trazodone or Seroquel, one of those meds; preferably Seroquel needs to be stopped right away. Even if I assumed you were Psychotic, there are better, more efficacious options than Seroquel; like Abilify, Rexulti and Latuda. Zoloft is garbage, if you're gonna take an SSRI-type med, you should look into Trintellix or Vortioxetine WAY way less side-effects than other SSRI's.
In your case, there's no doubt in my mind that your solution is NOT adding medications but removing at least one or two of them. Prazosin is unlikely to cause sexual side-effects so I'd say that one is fine, it can actually improve erections, but Seroquel should be removed and Trazodone (honestly) as well, I'm surprised on that HEAVILY HYPOTENSIVE triplet you haven't cracked your head open or ended up in the ICU from acute severe low blood pressure...if this is real you need to do something about this man.
Good luck to you...
You are welcome to e-mail me at [email protected] if you need a Free guide / advice through me.
I use prescription Agomelatine for sleep. I actually sleep and dream versus feeling like I have been hit in the head with a hammer. My libido was already sky high, so I did not notice a difference, but it certainly did not decrease it.
Interesting... No mention about snri-ssri in the list, right?
Area-1255No, because they would deteriorate not improve sexual function.
