+ 21 Quad Injections A Love/Hate Relationship + A Powerful WARNING!

ad

Please don't forget to read the WARNING at the end of this article! It could save you from major problems with a Quad shot!

Doctors don't know a lot of things; especially when it comes to anabolic drugs. However, I have to give then their due when it comes to injections.

Docs usually choose the glutes first, and the delts second. They rarely but sometimes will use leg injections eg thigh, outer Quad, and venrol-gluteal.

Your Quads are your largest and strongest muscle. Immediately following a 2 cc injection of oil and esters when you stand up you are subjecting the muscle to 200 pounds of your weight forcing contractions and stress.

So, most bodybuilders report normal pain and soreness for a few days even with a clean injection, Some report less. In my case the higher I go, the less pain, and the lower the more...as well as restricted mobility.

So of course I hate Quad shots for these reasons. However I love Quad shots for the following reasons.
Since these are the largest muscles they provide the biggest area for you to inject. If you can work Quad injections in properly, you can use them for quite a bit without missing a leg workout while giving other over-injected areas a well needed rest.

When doing a Quad shot you have complete control, You can sit comfortably, pick the area, and after proper alcohol swabbing, you are in command. After inserting the needle you can easily aspirate the syringe which is nearly impossible while doing a self glute shot. It gives me peace of mind when injecting Tren.

It is also easier to control injection speed using a nice slow steady pace. Then after removing the needle, it is easier to properly massage the area with a swab helping disperse the oil.

WARNING

We all love our trusted suppliers, and overall they do a wonderful job for us. However, we have all gotten that bottle from a good source that may be too strongly dosed and causes major PIP and swelling. In some rare cases abscesses, It's no fun but its part of the risk of what we do.

So,,,NEVER open a new vial even if it is the same compound from the same supplier.and do a Quad shot, because if your going to have issues; it is best to have them in the glutes where it will be more localized and easier to contain and treat. Once a new vial has been used without issue in the glutes it then has potential for Quads with hopefully no issues other than normal pain.

For better understanding of PIP, Lumps, Bumps, and Abscesses and how to deal with and treat them please visit the following link:

http://www.eroids.com/forum/general/general-talk/injection-pip-lumps-bum...

I made that mistake from one of out most trusted sources here for years! I liked him very much personally and professionally, He was a top rated source for a long time, and I never had any issues with his products. He is no longer with us...so some of you might figure out who it was; although I will not supply a name.

I was using Tren E 250 on a regular basis at high dose so I always had extra vials on hand. I finished a vial on a shot, When it came time for my next injection I opened another vial, Everything looked fine. The only difference I could see was that the Tren was a much deeper Orange, but totally clear,

So, I figured maybe it would be a bit stronger, but great! I was due for a Quad shot so in went a bit more than 1 2/4 cc's of Tren and about 1/3 cc Test E. Keeping the Test low for cutting,

The injection went fine and all felt ok until the next day. The next day I knew I had issues and it was scary. My left Quad began to swell, was incredibly painful and really had limited mobility. I could not touch my right foot with my left foot. That's one way to know you have a Quad abscess forming.

Very luckily for me I was taking Biaxin 500 mg 2x/day for a sinus issue. Without it; I cannot begin to imagine what would have happened.

I could see that the Quad was trying to form a long oval shaped abscess on the top part of the muscle. However, the area was flat and hard and unable to centralize as it would in a glute or delt. If it was lanced although it would be painful most likely little would come out but perhaps a mixture of blood, some oil, and a little pus.

In order for an abscess to be successfully drained it must be ripe enough to allow all of the infected material to be removed. That was impossible here. Redness was flowing around the area and this is cellulitis which can be very dangerous.

When the infection cant centralize and be walled off, it tends to spread! This is why Quad injections are much more dangerous! If you have developed and hard Quads this is also more likely to happen in my opinion.

I began taking hot showers three times a day, allowing the hot water to hit that red area as much as possible! Luckily for me it began to work, The redness slowly became a little but less each day. Had it not worked; I would have headed to an ER immediately! Anyone who has this problem should use good judgement and if there is any question at all; SEEK MEDICAL HELP!!!!

Although the cellulitis was reducing, the pain and the lack of mobility were very, very slow to improve. Each day I was able to move the leg a little bit more, but not much. Full mobility did not return for a long time!

Here's a very sad fact, Infections destroy healthy tissues! My Quad was very cut and defined on top on of both legs. Unfortunately, where that long oval shape was, my leg was soft, and much muscle fiber gone!

Once fibers are gone there is no way to replace them! With proper training I'm sure I can see some improvement, but my left Quad will never be or look the same as it did , or the way my right one appears.

This I very hard for me to deal with, but as I said overall I have to consider myself very, very lucky! When you read the other link about abscesses you will realize that therer is always muscle and healthy and tissue loss with an abscess., However in a glute it will be less and no one but you will know or be able to see it,

So PLEASE test a new Vial in your glutes and if all is well, then it should be ok for Quads when necessary! Don't make the mistake I did! IT WAS STUPID AND AVOIDABLE!

Many of you understandably be thinking...the vial was fine and this guy didn't keep everything sterile during the injection process, However, I have given thousands of IM shots to myself, and patients while working in the medical field!

I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN OR GIVEN ANYONE AN ABSESS.....NOT ONE! I have read stories from other steroid users who were shocked when they got an abscess, because they too claim to be so meticulous keeping a sterile environment. I tend to believe most of them.

Of course there is one way to prove this: I probably still have the vial, A lab can look at it and see what it in there. I believe they will find some form of contamination. Bear in mind that it is totally clear so whatever bacteria, particles etc are microscopic.

I've been on this site for a long time, and repeat that our sources in the top ten are excellent! They really do good work. So this is so out of the norm, it shouldn't be an issue. It never has been before...but be careful!

Your comments and opinions are welcome of course!

Great advice

What happens when you find pieces of rubber stoppers in your gear from a highly trusted source from here all the time? And just try and plunge them out with at 20g??

shawn0712's picture

I've broken off pieces of rubber on prescription test.
Best advice is be patient and use a smaller gauge to draw.

I thought the glute was the biggest muscle in the human body, but this was otherwise a great post.

My favorite was in my delts, I hated leg days, just knowing how bad the pip was going to be was really soothing lol

Mouth on a twig's picture

I hate to write on this old thread but I'm having some problems... I've pinned my quad on the second half (the one near the knee) with 2 cc of test e and now I'm suffering pip and there's swelling in that area and also on my knee. It causes me a little pain even to flex my quad and doing some squat without weight. In the same night of the inj I done a leg session but pain started to show after.

DragonDog's picture

Pinning the lower half is the problem. You may want to ice the knee to bring down the swelling. As the oil moves out of that tiny area you injected, it probably leaked down to the knee causing the swelling, mild allergic reaction possible, too. Also, with the oil gone, the Test crystals are left behind causing your PIP. Use hot water or a heating pad to melt the crystals and reduce the PIP. All of this assumes, you didn't get a bacterial infection.

shaun1's picture

I never pin the lower quad anymore. I learned that lesson along time ago when I first started out. When pinning quads now its only the upper outsides.

That's where I feel most comfortable. Lesson learned.

Mouth on a twig's picture

I'll put some ice on the knee later, the crucial part is right near the knee, today I'll do some leg ext and leg curl with light weight and then some cyclette to increase blood flow.

DragonDog's picture

Light weights, good call. It may take a week for the swelling to go down. I pinned little south of the midway point once, and the area above my kneecap to the outside swole up. It felt like joint damage, but it was just the swelling.

Mouth on a twig's picture

Me too, in fact I'm always in alert with my knee because some times after leg sessions I've got some annoying pains. I'll never pin again for a while my leg btw. I hope the situation will improve with ice, blood flow and hot shower.

The Skipper's picture

I don't know who told you to pin near the bottom of the knee but that is wrong. There's some good videos on utube that will walk you through it. Personally I don't pin short esters in the thigh and never more than two ccs.

sprnks's picture

Great read man, thanks a lot.
Quad shots are actually my favorite, there really convenient. For some reason i have this mental issue with them though, it takes me forever to get the pin in. i feel like i'm going to hit something important and something bad will happen. Not sure how or why it started and I always feel like a big baby after lol

j1980's picture

Nice read! I rotate between quads, glutes and delts. I've always pinned quads from the top though. So far I haven't had any problems. That's not to say I wont though.

johnmarshall12's picture

I haven't had any before, or after! Just that one vial! But sine that problem all Quads shots have been with proven vials tested in glutes. But the sides are better, less nerves etc

cmo25cent's picture

Wow that's a long article to explain something so simple. I do side quad injections and never have pip . Ever! I only inject my quads. I feel(with my fingers) around the area I'm going to inject and I make sure I don't feel huge nerve endings. Push it fast and inject slow. The reason that so many people have pip with quads is because all the nerves in the muscle. Slightly over dosed gear still shouldn't give you bad pip if you're injecting correctly. I always do a side injection like almost in my hamstring. Injecting from the top will give you pip because the nerves run differently. Explain.... I pushed fast and injected slow just like you said cmo but I still have horrible pip. Even if you go all the way in from the top you could land on top of a nerve. Side injections get past the nerves.

I NEVER inject on the top!! Always like you on the side, and have done hip injections. The problem here was not where I injected, or over dosing, or technique...this vial was contaminated! If you inject a non sterile oil it won't make much difference...you are in for issues!

And it does happen! I've seen other horror stories. Source was a good one too...so it was unreal! The point of this is just test a new vial in your glutes where if there is an issue it is much easier to resolve! Then if no probelem in gluters..Quads are fine. I still do them, but never with a new vial.

gambit's picture

So you think you were getting an abscess but didnt due to the hot showers? maybe the Biaxin too?

From my understanding the abscess is the wall being formed around the "possible" infection, bodies defenses not to spread. I quote possible cause frankly a bad pin can scare the crap out of anyone including myself!

Now Im not u and not trying to call u out so please dont read this the wrong way.

Ive had 2 horrible quad injections out of the only god knows how many times ive pinned them but a lot. The whole area got red and swollen, hot to the touch. pain, oh the pain I kept checking for fever cause again from my understanding, which is simply reading and talking to medical people in various fields and absess will form if you have an infection, the infection will raise your body temp. In my case I feel i had a nasty quad shot and my endo agreed when I showed her and she had said 1) this is why we dont pin quads, and 2) i could have fouled up the shot, some could have seeped to the upper muscle area/belly. Of course she thought I only pinned 1cc of test cyp.

i want to add, what i did for mine was thinking like u, warm the area to get blood flow increased. i used a heating pad multiple times per day. i did light leg extensions every day, i stretched it i even foam rolled it. times i wanted to cry, trust me. i thought i was all man until this foam rolling it but i was doing all this in the hope of what (i hoped) was a pool of oil that formed in the muscle.

however can the body also form an abscess not from an injection but even if the oil didnt disperse fast enough the body would see a foreign substance and form a wall? again i dont know for sure.

and onto the Biaxin. I dont think this is the right thing to treat and infection from injecting is it? i only read about antis and it can be difficult to ascertain which anti to use cause some of them treat/attack infections differently.

im always excited to learn new things.

im glad your situation worked out and i hope u heal 100% bro!

thx for taking the time to write your story, props and +1 to u.

wheels's picture

Thanks for the write-up. As obvious as it might be, I never would have thought to always make the first pin from a new vial in the glute. +1

johnmarshall12's picture

Yup...it seems so obvious, but atthe time it wasn't and I surely was sorry!

MAC's picture

Great write up. This needed to be addressed +2

Also, it is possible to gain your muscle back in that quad.

AAS causes hypertrophy, which is the increase in the volume of an organ or cell due to he enlargement of the component cells. That's great, it means bigger, thicker muscle fibers.

HGH causes mitosis cytokinesis (I know there's a better term can't remember it) which is the duplication of the muscle cells. AAS enlarges muscle cells and HGH creates MORE muscle cells. With long term HGH use you will eventually achieve regeneration of that area. Will it ever be "equal" to the other quad? Not sure. But time heals most things... And it's a fact that HGH creates more cells which in return creates more fibers over time cause everything just keeps splitting and duplicating.

Again, great write up bro. Just wanted to give u some hope with your situation. Pharma grade HGH would be recommended if you were to try and do this though... Just to be sure what u have is actual HGH. (Not knocking generics... But with medical issues I will always recommend human grade)

johnmarshall12's picture

TY Mac...good point on Human Grade. Might gain some muscle back, but not AAS can replace what is no longer there. Sad!

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Nice write up. Included good signs to look for. There is a real risk every time we inject. I fortunately have good luck with my quads, but you just never know for sure. Scary to think about what can happen. +1

johnmarshall12's picture

TY. Like i said, I never had an issue with Quads until this; just normal pain. The main thing is if i would have injected that new vial into my glutes it would have been a lot less scary!

I was so lucky!!!!

Mattyd's picture

Thanks for sharing that. I too have a love/hate relationship with pinning quads. Sorry to hear about your quad tho. Scary stuff.

johnmarshall12's picture

ty I was very, very lucky! John

Actually the ventroglute is a common shot performed by RNs/Drs. And many trt doctors will recommend quad shots to their patients.

And why aren't you naming the source? Many of us has gear stocked up from closed/retired labs. If it is contaminated gear you could help some people out. Deep muscle infections if left untreated are ugly regardless of where you pin.

johnmarshall12's picture

Yes, you are correct Ventrogluteal is not really a Quad shot, but some inexperienced users get the spot wrong and may hit their Quads by mistake..

johnmarshall12's picture

I'm naming the source if you read into it. He was King here for two years! I loved him, and his gear was great! This was like so insane! I was really shocke....never had an issue with any of his stuff. But if needed, u can pm me and I'll give u the name.

I didn't know if thjey would be pissed if I named him.

Steel637's picture

Even though his stuff may have been good, just remember, it was brewed in a storage unit.

Nice write up btw. +1

killroy's picture

Oh ok ... Yeah I've ran plenty of sponge's gear. That does suck Still have quite a few vials left

johnmarshall12's picture

@guitarplayer1 ty....If you read the other article you will see why gluteal absesses are much easier to cure! Legs are really scary, but if the vial is good and you keep all sterile it's just pain but should be ok.

guitarplayer1's picture

Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. These post can open some eyes. +1 Good to see your back up and running.
