superficial thrombophlebitis

ad

Hey guys, I was in the hospital day after Christmas for a panic attack. From the IV in my left cephalic vein it caused a superficial clot from the IV site up to my underarm. Had an ultrasound done and it doesn't go into a deep vein. It's been almost 6 weeks and the vein is still hard but no pain at all. I heard it can take months to heal back to normal. My doc told me not to work out my upper body until it heals. I've never been out of the gym this long and wanted to get everyone's opinion on if going to the gym is safe or not. I would think increased blood flow would help. Looking g forward to your feedback.

I just recently had my spleen rupture and I also have a blood clot in my arm from the Iv it's been about 3 weeks and is about gone the vein is still kinda hard but soon enough it will go away I read that 6 weeks is about the longest it stays. I know it sucks not going to the gym I feel like a twig I weighed 215 when I went in and I'm at 193 now that's massive weight loss for 3 weeks my sleeves are loose pants falling off its a real mental fuck anyways it won't be to long bro good luck

I've never been out of the gym this long

Then why do you say you are out of the gym?

Greensceptre's picture

What I really meant to say was that I have not been doing upper-body because of the clot in my arm. I have not been totally out of the gym

Then your question is completely invalid and the post is pointless. Listen to your doctor.
