Wth I get sick everytime I leave the gym now???
ad
A year ago this month I was hit on my Harley which broke my back and the right side shoulder and clavicle. After 9 months of surgery and PT I returned to the gym. The difference is now I get nauseous and borderline vomiting when I leave the gym. Doesn't matter what I work or whether or not I eat before or after. I never had this issue for the 15 years I was at it prior to the accident. Any one else ever deal with this??

It's the painkillers, I had to be on them for about 2 months not to long ago while I tapered off my preventive medications that stopped working for this headache disorder I have. Everytime I'd get done I felt sick, couldn't even stomach the thought of a protein shake. Then I'd have to lay down for like an hour and sleep. Even during workouts I'd get very lightheaded and kinda sick. Since stopping everything has gone back to normal. I'd get off those things as soon as you can get to the point where some tylonel and ibuprofen is enough to make the pain manageable. Don't look for it to totally take the pain away, but decrease it enoug to where you can tolerate it. It's so easy to get addicted to that shit, roughly 10% do. Your body is already physically dependent on it and you're in for a rough week or two when you do come off them. Hopefully you have s smart doctor who knows how to taper you off them in a way you won't have terrible withdrawals. If not there's so much info online you can figure out how to do it yourself. Idk your total dose, but I would taper over 6 weeks or so, withdrawal won't be to bad if you do that and get yourself down to say 10mgs ed and then jump off.
I backed off taking the meds in the A.M. before I hit the gym and the sickness miraculously disappeared. Thanks for the insight homies!

Only when Im done and I start to cool down or wind down from the pump..... I started doing just body weight calisthenics and I havent had an issue. Only when I do heavy weights.
GnarkillSounds like you need to sue whoever hit you
My insurance company is on top of that. Luckily I had uninsured motorists coverage, thanks to my wife being more prepared than myself.
When I saw the title I was going to write something idiotic like 'tuck your vagina in' or something along those line but as a fellow rider I hope you fully recover mate and are able to hit the iron again.
Thanks brother. Only took 9 months to walk without a walker now. A silly little 21 yo girl texting and driving. No ins and diving a car that hasn't been registered in 2 years. I was sitting at a stop waiting on the car in front of me to turn and WHAM, 60mph ass fucking. Just glad to be alive. Now if I could drop this couch weight. I jumped from 205 solid to 230 blubbered up. Fml
RustyhookerNot used to that adrenaline rush like before injury
I get it from pre work out drinks if I take to much or pre work pills
Yes sir, pretty strong stuff. Oxy 80 time released.
I would think it is the oxy playing in to this. I have gotten nausea and sick stomach just purely from painkillers when I had to take them in the past.
I really didn't think about that until it was mentioned here. I had always been on and off pain meds due to lingering injuries but nothing this potent. I guess I'll need to figure out how to time my gym time with my meds so they won't overlap and see what happens.
Tronbro, it could be as simple as the fact you havent excercised in a long time..your body isnt use to it. And if youre anything like me you probably jumped right back in trying to go just as hard..the only way I see it being related to your accident is from the time off caused by your accident..not use to the workouts any longer....NOW...one more question..have you been on any narcotic medication from the accident?
I was thinking the same! +1
