I been working out for 30 + years. So this is more of trying everything thats out there. This is a workout I am getting ready to do for my up coming run.
remember reps and set and two of the exercise for each body part changes every workout.
I go with the way I feel if I don't feel like going heavy I will kill the reps it all about breaking down the muscle.
The rest I take I the time it takes me wife to finish her set that it.and I use most of the different work out techniques. Rest pause, force reps ,drop set, super set and so on.
I switch two exercise every workout dumbbell ,barbell Smith machine or hammer Strength

Dayone back and upper back
Lat pull down 20 15 to failure 12 10
Dead lift 12 10 8 6 and maybe 3 and 2
Bent over row 20 15 to failure 12 10
T bar row 12 to failure 10 8 8
Back extension
High rope pull
Shrugs
Shrugs on standing calves machine
And bent over lateral rise
Day two
Chest and shoulders
Dumbbell flat 20 15 to failure 12 10 8
Dumbbell incline 15 12 to failure 10 10
Incline fly 15 to failure 4 set
Decline press 15 12 10 to failure
Cable cross over
Front press 30 20 to failure 15 12
Dumbbell press 20 15 to failure 12 10
Upright row 20 15 12
Side and front rise 20 x 4
Legs

squat 20 20 to failure 12 10 8 6 3 2
leg press 20 15 12 10 10
Lunges 15 to failure 12 10 10
leg extension super set with leg curl 20 x 4

day 4 arms

Cable curl super set cable press down 50 30 20 12 to failure 10 8
barbell curl 15 12 10 8 10
preacher curl 20 15 12 10
Crucifix curl super sex dumbbell extension 15 x 5
Close grip press 20 15 to failure 12 12
skull crushers 15 x 4
hummer curl 12 x 4
Notice I take my second to failure in that way everything goes to failure. Old school. Not just the last set .
I even take it a step further drop set or rest pause the last set to absolute failure. .key is to keep switching thinks up.the is just to give an idea I really don't stick to a rep range .
Any suggestions comments or anyone wants to add
