+ 2 Melatonin doubles GH release. It likely suppresses somatostatin. Possible cheap alternative to Huperzine A
ad
This article shows that administration of melatonin prior to administration of a GHRH (mod grf 129...etc) that the GH output is roughly double. The cause is unknown as far as this article is concerned but they theorize that it is through the inhibition of somatostatin, which is the hormone responsible for breaking down GH. It could be a much cheaper alternative to Huperzine A and other somatostatin inhibiters.

Yep melatonin produces longer delta wave (slow wave sleep) cycles and possibly more delta cycles, this is the cycle of sleep you release GH so more delta sleep equates to more GH release.
Kids get tons of delta sleep and it deminishes as you get older, but melatonin helps curb the degradation of delta sleep. +2 good info
It does more for GH output than just increasing SWS. From the article - "Our data indicate that oral administration of melatonin to normal human males increases basal GH release and GH responsiveness to GHRH THROUGH THE SAME PATHWAYS AS PYRIDOSTIGMINE" What exactly is pyridostigmine you may ask? Pyridostigmine is responsible for inhibiting acetylcholinesterase. What is acetylcholinesterase you make ask? Acetylcholinesterase is a chemical responsible for breaking down acetylcholine. What is acetylcholine you may ask? Acetylcholine is a chemical that is responsible for inhibiting somatostatin. So pyridostigmine indirectly inhibits somatostatin. That means that research's article shows that melatonin and pyridostigmine act through the same pathways. Meaning that melatonin inhibits somatostatin.
Awesome. That is very good info and research my friend.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing. I'll be popping a 3mg melatonin before bed. +1
Is that better IFIT? lol you didn't even give me five mins to edit it
Sorry! GTG now. Just can't copy and paste. See how you provided your own summary and readers can then reference the article for further info. Thanks
Im picking up what you're putting down.
