+ 1 Allergic reaction to Gear?

ad

Been on a cycle of Sus and prop for about 9 weeks...noticed hives about 4 weeks in, last night I woke up with a swollen lip and eye. My dad is a doctor so luckily I was able to get a shot of prednisone and the swelling subsided. I am concerned that I may be allergic to the oil in the gear? Both the sus and prop contained benzyl alcohol and apricot kernel oil .I am assuming it is the apricot oil...

Advice? I think I need to come off of everything and PCT.

Edited..

Update guys, spoke to my father (doctor). Apricot oil is non allergenic, looks like I am having a reaction to the Benzyl alcohol in the gear. Looks like I built up an allergic response after being on a cycle for weeks and weeks. Both the prop and the Sus contain it in higher amounts so the reaction continued to get worse as my cycle progressed. Its good to know the source of the problem, thanks again everyone

Thanks for the advice guys, Edited my post, removed brand. My plan is to run a full PCT and get my blood work checked, allergy panel ect. Like I said, my dad is a family doctor so its easy for me to have access. Im really hoping that it is an allergic reaction to something other than the gear. I will pin it again in a month or so and pay attention to any reaction. If it occurs again then I will switch brands, or switch compounds that use a different oil. Thanks again!

No problem buddy, your definitely making the right call. If I didn't get the allergy panel I would likely still think that I was somehow allergic to deca or something in that sources oil and still be at risk of another reaction to my true allergy

Two years ago I had just started a cycle of test e and deca. It was my first time running deca and I had never run test at a dose as high as that cycle (750 mg test, 600 mg deca). A few days after my first pin I went for a jog and broke out into full blown anaphylactic sock. My whole body broke out in hives, my airways constricted.. I was in deep shit and had to go to the ER. They hit my with an epi pin and some prednisone and I was back good to go. They also sent me home with two more pins and referred me to an allergenist. Mind you I had no known allergies so I was thinking it had to be the gear but wanted to go to the allergenist just to be sure.

After the allergy test it was uncovered that I am highly allergic to Tide laundry detergent. I thought back and remembered that the day before my bad reaction I had used my girls Tide laundry detergent because I was all out. I called my parents and asked them about it and dad says "Oh hell yeah son your allergic as shit to Tide, that's why we never used it. I thought you knew!".... No pops, I didn't. Apparently they found out the hard way when I was 2 but forgot to relay the message.

It turns out the reason my reaction was so bad was because when I started sweating heavily my pores opened up and allowed that poison in. Then when I stopped sweating they closed trapping it in there. That was when shit hit the fan.

I ran that cycle for 16 weeks and never had another issue.

My point to all of this is that you never will know until you go and have a full blown allergy test. I highly recommend you do because allergies are nothing to fuck with. If you look at the ingredients in any laundry detergent, shampoo, cleaning product etc. you will see an ingredient called "fragrance". The fragrance is proprietary to the manufacturer and nobody other than them really knows what is in the cocktail used to make it. It's nothing about Tide in and of itself that sends my body into full on wtf fml mode, it's something in that fragrance.

Either way, it literally almost killed me so I strongly advise you to get an allergy test before you just assume it's the gear because you just can't know for sure.

Thanks guys, planning on just coming off and eliminating all my supps. Then reintroducing one at a time. It could be unrelated but I would rather be safe than sorry. May switch brands in the future though. Thanks

"what other sources should I try?"

Can't answer that in the forum.

Switching brands was my first thought.
