Seeing it has been over two weeks since Viking has been around I figured I would send out a Viking blessing I found his way.

On the subject, has anyone seen the history channel series vikings? It is definitely bad ass. It got me very interested. I ended up doing a lot of research afterwards. I know how the stories end, but I can't wait for the next season to come out.
I love the series. I even took it a step further and had my DNA ran. I am almost 70% North sea bloodline. Not bad for an American.

I happen to be 75% scandanavian. But the problem is it's more dumb ass than bad ass.
LOL, you never know why your ancestors were. I ran my through a few different filters, my largest percentage is Scandinavian followed closely by Irish. North sea..

Not sure but I will say that most of the DNA filters have a difficult time with Native Americans. Reason is there are few left in the big picture. So often times (including my own) it will come back with a percentage west asian instead. Like with me it showed 2% west asian, which made no sense. Truth is whatever tribe my ancestor was is probably gone now.

They were seriously beasts. A lot about the culture makes more sense to me. Death should be a celebrated event. I know when I go, I want a feast and a big pyre. Not a cold box in the dirt and sad faces everywhere.
I agree 100%. But if worse comes to worse I will settle for cremation. It is as close to a burning ship as I imagine I will get lol.
As long as I can get my kids to agree to put my ashes on a little paper sail boat and torch it. Lol
