Any suggestions for leaning out

ad

So i recently posted about starting my first anavar cycle. I started it without the complete understanding of how it works. I do desire strength and building more muscle, but the issue is that i am a fighter and i recently underwent acl surgery. I am now able to workout again but my weight increased and i lost muscle. I do not want to put on more weight as my goal is to get to 125. Im 150 right now and i changed my diet to lean meats, complex carbs and around a 1500 cal a day diet. I know that hard work and diet are only way to have real success but was wondering if i should stay on the cycle or if there is something better to help with this process

1500 seems low to me, if you start too low there's no where to go if it stops working. I've often found eating more helps me lose weight faster as long as I'm doing enough cardio. Good luck

I have no idea how long you've been fighting, Fightchic but you have to understand one thing about this forum and how do ask questions. I get it- I fight as well. We're in a sport that depends on weight classes- bodybuilding depends on looks/aesthetics. The ladies here are correct- you don't need to be doing var or anything else until you get your weight close to where you want it because muscle weighs more than fat and if you're putting on muscle, you're putting on weight. Now you can get strong without putting on a ton of muscle, but that takes time and it sounds like you're trying to rush things.

Even more important, you really need to get a bodyfat test done. I read somewhere on here that you were once 200lbs? You're 150 now and you want to drop to 125? Can you even make 125? And when we say 125, we're talking 125 with a water cut before weigh ins? Just because a coach throws a number at you doesn't mean your body can do it. Remember, you need to fight, not look pretty. It may not be the right weight class for you. Only way you're going to get a real idea of that is to get a professional bodyfat test done. My coach wanted me at 125- I had a test done and I was walking around with 111lbs of lean muscle mass at 158 lbs. There is no way in hell, I could make 125 and not lose strength (and probably brain cells).

My advice? Find out what your fat percentage now is first. Get a professional test done- not the fat calipers one. THEN figure out what you can make and then the rest of your questions become more focused. ;)

Good luck. Oss!

I think you need to figure out what your body fat is. In the fitness world pounds on the scale doesn't really mean to much in my opinion anyways. 150 lbs on a woman can look 3 different ways. I would get back on ur routine for awhile and do some more research what anavar, clen, primo, or any other you are debating to use. Focus on diet and working out for a bit.

I gained 7 pounds on anavar. I am the leanest I have ever been but also because I think I have the most muscle I ever have. If just making weight is your goal, anavar might not be the right choice..I would stick with a balance of training cardio and diet..sounds like your calories are a little too low to even start building up muscle again in my opinion..

I worked out on and off since surgery but was limited. Last week was my first week that i could start pushing it some. I typically do cardio for an hour then i follow a weight program specific to fighting from my coach. I cant squat with weight yet but can do leg presses and box squats no weight and body weight squats

I'm going to let some females chime in here but just wanted to say thatI think it would be a good idea to drop this cycle until you are at least 80% of where you were. Reason being is you are going to have such an increase in strength that even healthy ligaments and connective tissue will be stressed...let alone once that are still recovering from a major trauma. If you are looking for a little help I would go more along the lines of clen or albuterol. Don't get too extreme with your calorie deficit and keep your macros balanced. I think 250 cal deficit is pleased plenty....as a fighter the thing you don't 2nd to do is have your diet effect performance...you want the look but it is equally or more important you maintain function

Im at 75% function now and when i did my strength test last week at PT it was almost equal. I dont know my BF% cause my main concern is what the scale says so i havent had it measured in a long time. I heard that clen dries up your tissues so i was afraid it would impact my graft. I also had my other knee done last year. My main goal is to fight at 115 and not lose strength to do it. I was 145 when i got injured I'm 150 now but i notice the loss of muscle. I appreciate all the help cause i am not fimiliar at all with how var works just that it helps with strength and lean muscle mass

get off the scale..... its a meaningless number

Cut your calories 500 below maintenance or start with 250 below and see how that works.

Agreed...

Would i b better off on clen then anavar or stacking them

MedDx's picture

Diet and cardio.....reach your goal.....then AAS. The BF% needs to be less than 20% for females for var to be effective and produce visible results. You will feel the effects of Var, while cycling, however. But, if your baseline BF% and weight are not where they should be, you will be compounding an issue.

Query a search engine for Harris Benedict Equation. Determine your BMR. Tailor your macros with sufficient foods of your choice. Start whey protein and casein protein. Keep carbs between 50-80g/day. Monitor and adjust calories as suggested (250). Start HIIT.

You will loose muscle on clen!

So your saying when you lean up you don't loose size? Then add clen in the mix?

levelup's picture

I would never cut do hard to lose muscle mass...no one ever should it's counterproductive. Clem does have anti catabolic properties to it so you certainly won't lose size bc of clen. You can lose size bc of a shitty cutting get diet

I think regardless of the drug she needs to go diet first.
