Advice for a cutting diet?

ad

Recently I posted in the diet clinic my eating habits and asked the community for advice...however not being 5'11 and 250 pounds Smile i got a couple suggustions but it is definetly a men's focused group...I am a small (but musclular!!) girl and am hoping I could get the opinion of some of you women out there with what works for you as far as a cutting diet. I have read on here alot that to see leaning out results on anavar, you want to already be as lean as you can get naturally..but how girls get to see abs naturally blows my mind! At the best shape I've ever been in my life, which is right now, all I can see are small outlines..my body still wants to hold onto a certain about of body fat, what can I do to improve? Any advice would be appreciated Smile

I'm having great success with intermittent fasting. For 2 days I do not eat anything until 1pm, then nothing after 5pm Then I eat clean but normal for 3 days then repeat.

I'm doing a recomp. I drink most of my protein, blended tuna and v8. It makes it easy to hit 180ish grams of protein a day. I don't eat much solid food. I don't track fats or carbs. I know I'm not catabolic, I can feel it. I think the NPP is amazing. I'm only working out 4 days a week, always am. I have a protein shake preworkout. So I guess its not a real fast because I do drink food if that makes since. Tuna and v8 is like the perfect food.

Yeah I am tapering off fruit, I get my fats from avacados, almonds, coconut flakes and coconut oil, try to stick with natural sources. I was also playing with the idea of carb cycling..

I like the idea, variety being the spice and all, think I'll give it a try this weekend, thanks grrl!

@kodiakGRRL
Sorry to hear you are not feeling great! I have been paleo for the last two years, very familiar with that type of diet. I still have already eliminated all breads, potatos , sugar and even wheat from my diet. I already eat a very high amount of meat protein, a whole lot of veggies, a very measured amount of fruit and low fat dairy. My only carbs are 1/4 cup oatmeal in am and sometime 1/2 cup quinoa on my "high" carb days. So you would recommend cutting these out as well? I found with the paleo diet, I would loose fat for about a month, then plateau... and thank you the for rambling, I appreciate your opinion Smile

my philosophy on diet kinda goes with my philosophy on training.. if it isn't working or it has plateaued then you need to change something ... my high carbs days are truly high carb days.. I eat ALL the junk that I cut out.. one sunday ate some five or six bagels with cream cheese .. threw some donuts on top of it and coffee.. for breakfast .. fruit.. etc. .. . your high carb days aren't that high .. your body has adjusted to your "diet" I m sure you do cardio but I m not a cardio queen so my cadio is fifteen to twenty minutes in the morning before I eat anything .. although sometimes i cheat and get coffee and take it to the gym with me.. the big thing though is change .. once you get used to something and you see the progress stop or getting to be very minimal .. change.. and try this

alternate protein only days with days that you add carbs in .. so your protein only days would actually be protein and dairy .. then when you add carbs in add in veges, high fiber carbs, then when this stops working carb load for a day or two.. i usually pick a weekend and do it ..

I d cut out all carbs with the exception of veges, brocoli, cauliflower, etc.. ... salad type stuff.. ... get rid of ALL the sugars. so if you eat salads with protein (ie tuna or chicken) use vinegar and oil.. as salad dressings have a lot of hidden sugars in them.. get rid of rice, pasta, potatoes, no starches ....

I pathetically imprecise with my diet but every few weeks I eat a bunch of carbs, french fries, potatoes, bread... donuts..lol.. sorry .. chips.. for a day or two and then cut them back out and replace them with veges again..

to kick your system into ketosis cut out all carbs for at least three days.. so you can eat proteins and dairy, eggs.. NO sugar.. no carbs... but I would detox first or you are going to feel crappy for a bit while your body adjusts to the good food.. I ve done this successfully through the years to cut off excess fat because I m rather fond of eating and I ve been able to increase my strength muscle mass as well as keep what I have gained while off cycle.
sorry if I rambled.. i m not feeling so great ..
