First cycle of Anavar, lots of questions

ad

Hi there! I am super new to this and have lots of questions. I do not run with bodybuilder types and the circle I am with this would be taboo so I have need some advice from other women. I am 5'2", and 130#. I have been working out and dieting for years with strength gains, but not compared to my competition.

I am more concerned with strength gains and keeping them. I am only planning on doing one cycle as like a "booster." Does that work?

Okay, here come the questions...

1) is it okay to start at 10mg if it comes as capsules or should I break the capsules down? Do I have to taper off if I just take 10 the whole time?
2) I work out in the evening, if taking once a day, when should I take it
3) I have a delicate and social full time job. Will this cause me to have mood swings?
4) I take birth control pills and typically do not have a period (just run hormone pills) will the Anavar have negative effects? Should I start having the week of my period again?
5) I see lots about recovery....I am planning on just continuing my programming and diet. Do I need to do anything else? Am I really going to feel terrible?
6) will I lose the strength gains I have made after?
7) will taking this affect having kids in the future?
8) last one....sorry. I do really intense circuit-like cardio/strength/lifting. Is this too intense on the blood pressure? (Maybe a stupid question)

Okay, thanks ladies....I don't really have anyone to ask.

Most women who have a lot of experience with this stuff will say birth control will sabotage your gains. It also really fucks up fat loss due to how birth control pills effects the body's conversion of t4 to t3. So it makes it a lot harder to lose fat and this is also the reason why women gain weight when they start taking bc. Less t3 means a slower metabolism which means your gain weight eating the same amount of food you did prior to starting. Everyone's different obviously but it's pretty well known that bc inhibits the conversion of t4 to t3. I couldn't tell you exactly why you make less gains muscle wise by taking birth control with steroids tho.

no iron, that interfernce is neglibible and should only be considered if she is a top level competitor ..

Well, and I've been on birth control so long I also wonder if that is why I have plateaued. I expressed this concern to my doctor so she put me on the lowest dose of hormones possible, but I'm sure it's a factor in strength.

kodiakGRRL's picture

BC is not going to affect strenght.. if you have plateaud .. change your training up .. your body adapts to training .. that is the body's job, adapt. Your job training is to change things up so that it does not adapt.

Perfect. Thanks....My training definitely varies and I do multiple Oly cycles however my numbers just seem to maybe go up 5# here and there but not substantial over time. I am starting a powerlifting cycle so hopefully this will be totally different.

It will be completely different and if your trainer is spot on then you will see dramatic increases.. you definitely need to make sure that your caloric intake matches what you are trying to do .. you can make or break a cycle in the kitchen

Well...that could also be the issue. I pretty much train myself and I'm currently looking for a nutritionist that will help with putting some more meat/strength on me. I'm not super concerned with the scale. I have been eating non stop just to try and put on muscle. I live in a super small town so access to good nutritionists is scarce.

I just want to try one cycle to get over I guess the plateau I've been on the last year. I've kind of been stuck strength wise. Good advice on the sleep part too. During intense training times I already has issues sleeping. As far as the kid thing...not for a couple of years at least. I just worry about effects down the road with a baby.

Thanks so much!!!

What are your goals? How long have you been lifting? Do you lift heavy?

Ash-w's picture

My goals are simply to put on some strength. I have done tons of Olympic lift cycles and now have been at a plateau for the last year. Yes I think I lift heavy. At least I go as heavy as I can.

I love anavar, and I have never had a problem running it.

I taper up, then down. I would advise you to start with 5mg for a week in the morning. Then add another 5mg in the evening. Run that 10mg a day for 6 weeks, then taper down. It would make your cycle 8 weeks, it takes a week or two to feel it. I've never had mood swings, but it will likely increase your sex drive. But will not effect your birth control. As for being able to have kids, I don't know but I don't see any reason it would stop you.

I've never lost my gains off cycle, or felt horrible during or after. Good luck!

1.Splitting the capsule will result in more stable blood levels. But yes you could take it all at oncemy wife did that and had great results
2.Anavar has an 8 hour half life Give or take so,so maybe take it a few hours before you workout
3.No it wont 10mg is a low dose it should not affect you in the sense of "Mood Swings"
4.No my wife was on anavar and we were "Busy" all the time did not affect her birth control
5.Make sure you diet is in check high in protein getting the calories to grow and training your ass off G2G
6.No you will not lose your gains as long as you continue to eat right and train hard
7.Cant answer with certainty but No I dont believe there is research showing infertility problems
8.No exercise RELIEVES Blood Pressure,Blood pressure is mainly affected by stress and sodium keep those in check you should be good to go.
This is from personal experience IE My wife =) Hope everything works out for you Good luck

Perfect...that sounds good. So if the Anavar comes in a capsule do I just buy those empty ones to split it? (I am super new to this) Smile did your wife taper off of it or just stop?

Trapsquatch's picture

You could split the dose Like that,No my wife did not taper off,10mg was a great dose for her....It really tightened her body up and gave her a strength increase followed with good pumps in the gym
