Thanks john and some of those gems are that these guys haven't trained heavy in years. They train very light for reps to failure. 225 bench 225 squat 225 deadlift nothing more. Here's what I asked nick:
Me: so when's the last time you trained heavy?
Nick: never.
Me: what about the 5 plates on the squat rack over there?
Nick: that's all for the cameras man we don't actually lift it lol. You need to focus on the contraction of the muscle that's it.
Me: thanks for taking me back to school and lifting 101.
I felt like an idiot but that's what the journey is all about, learning new things and improving. And I'm sure if you guys follow kai you know he's also about lightweight and full contractions.
