Home Gyms? Going to go to ask the pros.

ad

So I've been trying to find a Rack/Smith machine and every time I go through reviews more brands keep popping up. Affordability is definitely important and I found the Yukon Caribou III for 700$ and then saw you can attach all kind of goodies like crossovers, pulldowns, leg extension/curls, preacher, pec dec, seated rows and more. Then brands like Marcy and Gold's Gym also have their versions. Just asking on here what people have tried and what they like/hate.

I'm not sure why you want a smith machine, we have a squat rack and an adjustable bench down stairs for days when we can't make it to the gym. My husband picked it up cheap on craigslist, it serves it's purpose.

I just like the smith for shrugs and calf raises, and don't feel like I get my back without the pull downs and rows. Right now I don't have a rack or a bar so all I have for back is 1 arm rows and reverse flyes.

Thanks but that's a little more then I wanted to spend. I've been finding options with all the attachments for around around 800 (with poor reviews though) and I'm trying to spend 1000 tops. Right now I'm just working with the selecttech 1090's and a bench that doesn't adjust to decline. I just figure I get a machine and curl/olympic bars then my next upgrade is the powerblocks that go to 175.

Heres a few links of what I'm looking at

Just doesn't seem like a lot have pulldown AND crossover options.

Ironmaster dumbells are the best. They have a rack smith and all that stuff too. I bought a bunch of their stuff about 6 months ago, kinda expensive, but IMO It's the best home gym bench/dumbell/pully option. The only thing i didnt get was the rack, so i still go to a dinky gym near me for squats and DL. Hoping to have a wooden rack built soon and pick up a bar and plates. But 600lbs of plates and a bar are expensive and cumbersome.. Wish there was another option in that department...

Check it out, I researched this for a couple years before I pulled the trigger so I'm real happy.
