Opinions on using HCG for a first "test only" cycle

ad

I was just reading up on the use of HCG and I noticed some strong opinions from both sides. What do the majority of Eroids posters have to say?
I'm doing my first cycle w/o any HCG, am I missing out? am I any more prone to not rebooting my natty test when I'm done?

I would recommend hcg use during a cycle only for cosmetic purpose. Ie keeping the boys big.

Think about it hcg mimics LH which converts to test. Your trying to restart your system while suppressing it.

Any form of test injected will completely stop the the production of test. I will tell you that your estrodiol will sky rocket.

Use hcg on pct if you want to save some money.

I have run hcg while on test, tren, and var. I did labs and had to take letro to control my e2. In my opinion it's not worth it on cycle, but excellent for pct.

Back last year hcg at 1000iu 3 time a week put my testosterone level at 905. That was hcg solo.

You might be able to get away without it your first cycle. Depends on your age though. As we get older, our bodies take longer to recover. When you inject testosterone in your body, your body recognizes it as testerone it produced. Your body then tells your nuts That you have enough test and to stop producing it. that's what causes testicular atrophy (shrinking nuts). If you're around early 40's and up, i would consider using it. I'm 38 and my dr has me on it. Mon, Wed, Fri 250 units, or 2.5 iu. Good luck to you bro

I think hCG should be used on every cycle (500 IU weekly). You shut down from the very 1st injection. Which means nonexistent levels of LH. We have LH receptors throughout the body, including the brain and skin. HCG mimics LH in the body so the benefits are not only for the testes.

Hormones in the body are manufactured from cholesterol. Which is made into Pregnenolone (the mother of all hormones). And the process continues on several steps until we arrive at testosterone. When you introduce AAS into your body a lot of this process upstream (from testosterone) gets disrupted. So other hormones can be affected as well (Cortisol, Aldosterone, etc.). hCG is known to help backfill those pathways, so that other hormones are less disrupted with the use of hCG then, without. It's not just for your testes.

WhyNot, your post in the "very first pin" thread is what got me wondering about the use of HCG. Is this a fairly new compound for the AAS community?

You've listed some pretty good "Pro's" to using HCG. What would be the Cons?

WhyNot's picture

HCG has been around for a long time. It was originally suggested to be used during PCT. Since it mimics LH it is suppressive and is no longer used during PCT (Although some still do use it).

If you read the product insert for hCG, there are a lot of cons mainly associated with elevated androgens (Those will obviously exhibit differently from person to person).

The main con for HCG is that it is also known to produce E2 in the testes directly when administered at high doses. That E2 cannot be controlled with Exemestane or Anastrozole because there is no conversion from testosterone. It's beening directly produced by the testes. But at 500 IU per week, you should not have that problem.

Bro I feel like if it is your first cycle and I hope it consists of test e or c, hcg isnt necessary at all. 12 weeks of 500mg a week isnt going to shut you down hardcore needing hcg.

Drywallstar nailed it. And listen, your boys only shrink a little on an average TestE first run. As soon as you start taking Clomid during PCT they swell right back up. No worries mang..

Thanks for the feedback guys. I wasn't too worried about this cycle, I have some great mentors helping me out.The whole concept of running a cycle w/o any gonad shutdown does sound appealing. I'm going to do a lot more research on HCG, and perhaps it will be part of a future cycle.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but can I ask if you decided to go with hcg on this Test E cycle? I'm running my first test E cycle (listed and details in cycle log) for 14 weeks due to a coinciding with a powerlifting meet also 14 weeks out. Was afraid to run pct during week of the meet in fear of losing any strength gains and feeling off. What were your results or thoughts about running hcg on this cycle?

Thanks in advance!

I recovered from that first cycle like a champ, but I bet HCG would have made it even better.
Try to get some, but don't panic if you cant.

Got it! Thanks for the response man. I appreciate it.

Agreed.
