+ 3 Worse week of my life abscess and surgery
Hey bros, tragedy struck home last week, I got an abscess on one of my Delts, i did an injection on Thursday, by Monday it was swollen, red, and hurt like a bitch. so i did the smart thing and went to the hospital. I had to get surgery on it, i wont be able to hit the gym for a while, i already lost 6lbs.. I feel lost and unsure about the future, i love bodybuilding and its all i know since i was 16. i achieved a lot of my goals but, i always strive for more.. i think my journey its coming to an end or the very least a long break. My wife already told me "its us or the juice". i really can't see myself leaving my family for nothing. my health insurance aint paying for shit..so now im stuck with tons of bills and a long recovery to get things back to normal.
"EDIT" i got a pic up from after the surgery "if you have a weak stomach don't click on it"

I done the same thing, didn't rotate sites enough and favoured delts, I didn't require surgery, but my left delt got infected, and I sure there was an abscess forming, as when I pinned it one time, instead of blood coming out, greeny yellow puss came out, so I hit antibiotics strate away and it cleared up and felt better with in a week, I continues the antibiotics for nearly 3 weeks, havnt had any problems since, but also hant pinned it either. looks nasty bro.
Bro, you are a young man. Don't forget that. You haven't even started to peak - not with your strength - not with what you can accomplish with bodybuilding. You have years of progress still ahead of you. Trying not to sink into depression is hard. Your not gonna loose all that you have worked for. And, most importantly, don't blame yourself, you didn't do anything wrong. God bless you bro.
Get well bro. I hate to see this happen to guys.
Did they say what caused it? Unsterile gear? Well I guess it's hard to know "what" caused it, we just know something did. But were u using gear from a source on eroids?
Also, were u sterile like alcohol swabbing prior and post injection?
my theory is that i didn't rotate my injection site enough. most of the puss was under the muscle... it happen at the very end of my cycle so that rules out the gear, i always keep it clean washed hands, wipe everything..
thanks for the supports bros, i have no one else to talk to about it. AAS use is very taboo among most people...I feel ashamed for putting my family though this. and i hate people like my bros wife for making fun of the situation... not only am i hurt physically but also mentally.. i just hope to arise from this very low point in my life.
BigBmajYou will. You know you will if you think about it for a moment. You are much more resilient than you are giving yourself credit for.
If your wife's brother is making fun of the situation, fuck him. His opinion of you is not important at all. I worry sometimes because my wife's whole family are a bunch of fucking idiots. Then it dawns on me that something would be wrong with me if they did like me.
I'm starting to think that doing what you love is never the wrong thing to do. It have to accept the consequences but following your passion is never the wrong path.
So sorry for your misfortune brother! Wishing you a speedy recovery! You appear to be a great guy, everything will work itself out and be alright! Warmest regards!
damn dude, wish you a speedy recovery.
you don't have to let go of your lifestyle at all brother. Bodybuilding has very little to do with steroids. Take your time to reassess your goals with this game.Your wife loves you I'm sure, she's not trying to compromise you in the least bit. those are just my thoughts, take it for what it is I'm still a kid.
My workout buddy had appendicitis, After surgery he was told he cant even lift 10 pounds for a month and after that no strength training for 6 months. Concentrate on getting better; the weights will always be waiting for you!
BigBmajWhat a shitty position to be in. I don't like that your girl out you in the "this or out" situation. I understand she's worried but it's not a good thing to do to someone. If you compromise your passion you will be just another unfulfilled person on this planet. I don't like to give advice because I'm so limited in what I can see from here. I just hope you know that you have lots of support here.
thanks bro, she just gets worried, its hard explaining to someone that you want to be 260lbs, most people think you are a crazy fuck..and maybe they are right but its what makes me happy.. the worse part is letting go of the lifestyle
BigBmaj"But it's what makes me happy"... You don't need to justify it beyond that. So few people have anything that even makes them happy, you are lucky.
Now you just need to sit and think hard.
GearofWarI hope everything turns out okay for you. I know it not really a great comfort to hear these words from a stranger but at least know that there are some of us our here that genuinely are wishing you well. All I can say is that in very happy to be on TRT and be prescribed IM injectables for home use. That way if I ever develop a Nasty abscess(God forbid) at least insurance will cover it because I can claim it was from pinning my TRT Test-Cyp dose. Good luck and God speed on the recovery.
Thats the good thing about living in canada, no matter what happen, the health system will take care of you, no charge!
No insurance is needed!
Ya and your taxes are high as hell. Fuck that I'll take my private healthcare, choose my doctors, get good care and quick when I need it. You may not be affected too much but if you needed a heart transplant I can guarantee you'd be down here in the US getting it done for obvious reasons.
Besides that Canada is awesome
Look like gear took control of your life, now it's time for you to get it back
Good luck!
For what i read below, infections and abscess are commond, i probably inject hundreds of times and never even had pip, is it always the gear?
Are you guys following the proper injection protocol?
thats sucks man. i hope you recover soon. if the infection was caused by the gear then you should probably leave a review.
the muscle didn't absorb the gear for some reason, the gear was g2g i was at the very end of the vial
i am sorry to hear this bad news. i hope to hear you are back at it some time. family is family, nothing is worth sacrificing them for so do what is best for them. mwagsgurly, my woman just found out yesterday she has an abscess in her right arm/shoulder and also cellulitis. i see whats she is going through and went through. i hope you recover quick.
same to your women, i hope they can drain it all out with cutting her up too much..
her abscess was small enough they could approach with antibiotics, she is very fortunate.
Damn bro that fucking sucks. ..I have a similar issue but doubt I will hit the hospital. I couldnt sleep last night at all. The pain on my right glute is unbearable. I know its definitely the gear. I experienced the same thing the last time I injected it but like a dumbass I went ahead and gave it another chance. I basically been in bed two days trying to recover from this. Yesterday I had a terrible headache and my body felt like crap. I am going to dedicate a post to inform bros on here what source gear did this to me. Stay strong homie! Btw +1
you got to be careful that it doesn't get infected, if it does, the docs got to drain it. hopefully not
Been there done that, did you do surgery yet? Because they can always inject the site(hurts like hell), then aspirate fluid from it, send that to culture lab. Figure out what antibiotics will kill it and do it that way. I had this on my leg, they gave me vanco at the hospital. Sent me home with bactrim for a week and I was gtg. I spent 11 days in the hospital, no sweat right back at it after. I did my own injections then, wife hated it and said the same, now she does my injections for me. Haha, in time it will all pass, no biggie homie. Feel better! Godspeed
yeah i had surgery sunday and im missing a big chunk of my shoulder skin.. it looks awful
One day at a time brother. Heal up and be well.
