+ 5 What made the biggest difference

ad

When I first started traning I read everything I could in magazines or online and even talk to the bigger guys at my gym to try and learn the most that I could and take my training to the next level. After being in the gym for 2 years I thought I had knew it all. Except for the anabolic side of things. Then after 4 years if training I realized that I DIDNT KNOW SHIT! So since the beginning of this year I go back and I look at the ways I trained and what worked and what didn't. What I have found is that the most minuscule details have made the biggest change in me. The best one of those details was my "mind/muscle connection". What started it was putting my ego aside and putting on lighter weight that I knew that I could control and make the target muscle do the work. With this came better form, filling out better, more detail in my muscle and a better overall sense and understanding if bodybuilding. Days that I'm not all there I will have Anbro poke her finger into the target muscle to help me focus on it. Especially if I'm going a little heavier than normal.

So I want to ask you guys. What was the lightbulb or multiple lightbulbs that went off in your head and changed your training? From running AAS better, the importance of diet or even understanding how important proper form is.

For myself, what made the biggest differemce was when I stopped listening to what everyone else was telling me as if it were gospel, and instead started listening to my body.

Once I realized that if X exercise is great for one guy, its not necessarily the best for me. Same with recovery time, reps, number of sets......

Gotta do what works best for you.

I agree with the comments about mind to muscle connection and solid form over weight. For me the biggest impact on my training was when I learnt that people put down weights too easily. "I've done 10 reps, set over" - chances are you could have done 12, maybe 14, it's only temporary pain. I don't count reps anymore, haven't done for years.

Bro I was just watching train with Kai green and this is exactly what he was talking about!
I've been trying to focus on stretch and contract myself but it's hard, like you said you start to think you are a chump In the gym but truth is when focusing on contracting and perfect form you just can't do heavier weight

Well with proper form and being able to focus on the muscle eventually the heavier weight will come. Even if it's 5 pounds. 5 pounds is still 5 pounds. But I look at this is way. I'm not worried about doing to gravely if weight. I'm a bodybuilder, not a power lifter. I've seen those train with Kai videos and they will change your whole life!:)

They did great watch!
" I'm not in the business of pushing weights"
Or something like that, I like the chest one with am bb, who had won comps and after 3 sets training with Kai he was spent and couldn't but up the even the lightest reps

Great post. You know, im ten days into my tren ace/test p cycle and I really noticed a big difference being able to feel the muscle doing the work. So many times I go into the gym and just go through the motions......now I focus a lot more and feel deep soreness for a couple days. Also the enhanced recovery time is nice too Smile

Thats really been the best thing for me and it really has made me focus on each and every muscle that which has carried over into form. My training has been so much better. I feel like I get so much more out of my workout. I know the feeling that your talking about of "going through the motions". I hated that feeling.
