Tuna is great but it contains large amounts of heavy metals incl. mercury so you want to eat in in moderation. Albacore (canned white) contains more mercury than canned light tuna. Chunk light is a smaller tuna so It usually lower in mercury content but the levels are still there.
Here's a link to show pic of the results.

The FDA has/had eating guidelines for fish/shellfish etc.

They also have tests for precisely mercury levels...
They say you are what you eat which would make me a boiled chicken beast. But whatever!!!

I don't eat anything that smells that way!
yeah i agree. i eat a metric fuckton of tuna, but i made the switch to wild planet tuna about a year ago. This tuna is caught using poll and troll methods, and is not packed in water or oil. its just plain fresh tuna. the mercury levels are also really low compared to other "brand name" tuna on the market. source follows

AnonThis is a very real warning !! not to be taken lightly ! In fact it goes for all pelagics . Sword fish is very bad for you, as is shark. In fact the greatest threat shark poses to man is when man eats shark !! Not to mention bluefin tuna is near extinction, so its doubly foolish to eat it. When we wipe out and poison our oceans we will really see some trouble !!
It's not just tuna that has high mercury levels, so does yellowtail (which is another type of tuna) and shark and swordfish. Basically any fish that is high up on the food chain, because of how mercury gradually compounds and accumulates in in the body.
Anonoops just saw this after I wrote mine. Good for you for being aware !! plus to you !
AnonMMMmmm Tuna fish with Hummus <3
