+ 1 minocycline for acne, read this before taking

ad

Hey fellow juice heads! I wanted to post what my son went through while taking Minocycline for acne. Out of the blue one day, he told me that he couldn't see well out of his right eye. I didn't think much of it, just thought he may have looked into a bright light and told him if it doesn't get better to let me know. A day later he said he was still having problems so I scheduled an appointment with the eye doctor. His eye Dr. Didn't know what the hell was going on BC he couldn't see ANYTHING out of his eye, not even when he put one letter on the screen. He immediately made an appointment for us to see a retinal specialist. The next day the retinal specialist said his eye was permanently damaged and there was nothing they could do about it. He said he has never seen this in a kid in his teens, only in the elderly. He asked what meds was my son taking and the Minocycline was the only thing he was taking, he told him to stop taking it. They never could come up with anything but the medicine was the cause.

This was back in Aug. Of last year and since then my son has regained most of his vision in his eye but has a slight colorbindness issue now. I am grateful he has gotten back some of his vision and he is doing much better just having to deal with the colorblind issue.

I have issues with acne when I get off cycle and would love to use something for it but I am definitely staying away from Minocycline. Everyone is different with all meds, that is just one he couldn't handle.

Peace out!!

Ya that's very uncommon. I'm sorry to hear this. I took minocycline for years and honestly it didn't help my acne that much it was more of a in my head type of thing. It did damage my intestinal flora though so i had to retrain my digestive system which still isn't the same but at least I can shit on my own now.

I have moderate acne, I have used almost every single product, but not orally. Minocycline is the first kind of pill I have ever taken (I could never swallow pills, but finally I am able to). This is my 2nd day on minocycline and I already feel dizzy and tired. I also use adapalene along with minocycline. I have already started to see slight changes in my face.Know more here http://www.internationaldrugmart.com/minocycline.shtml

i have read about minocycline and there are a lot of crazy side effects from it. dizziness, slow motion feeling, headaches, etc. there are other options out there that could help. very sorry to hear about your son. i hope he regains full vision in his eye.
