bench press your body weight 30 times

ad

Hey guys im training for the arnold classic which is march 2013. At some of the booths they have a contest to try and bench your body weight 30 times. I was wondering what kind of tips you guys have to reach this goal. I am currently 225 lbs and 6' 2"

I understand but once again I used the smith. Next week ill take this record down and establish a new record. Right now im that strong and confident letsm9ush your body weight 35 timesl 30 was a challenge however records are there tomotivate and I I live by the motto that

You can do it
Push through it
Aint nothing to it
Just do it
1 more
Give me 2
Now 3
4 you

Thanks for the motivation. Yesterday was shoulder day had to do close grip burnouts did 225 30 times even tho my rotine at that point called for 2 sets of 25. Felt good had unbelievable pump. Weight went up over the weekend from 213-230 which is from some heavyeating. Im getting stronger.

I remember when adam archuleta was 215lbs at the combine and did 31 reps of 225 bench. It was impressive

I just got done with a comp. where this was included. I weigh 227 and got to use 225. I pressed 32 times and thought I was gonna die. It is really taxing on the cns and if you try this frequently you will probably overtrain and become stale. What worked for me was to consistently train heavy, just using the 225 as a warmup for 10-12 on my bench days. I wod do a set of 315 for reps(10-12), 365(6) and then a set of 1-3 at whatever weight I felt like my body could handle on that day. After that I dropped back down to 225 and it felt like nothing. It is really a mental thing for me and training my brain works as well as training my body... Ps I did not win 185x42 reps. I was impressed lol

The overtraining part is knowledgeable. Over training is tough to overcomethats for sure. Ive been in the gym going on 2 years straight. I only lift on consecutive days on Chest and Legs then day off. Back in thegym, day off (I usually run this day), back in the gym, dayoff, 2 days straight again

That is almost exactly what I do. If I'm still sore I don't even go. I used to go 6 times a week and didn't get anywhere. Juice makes you heal faster, but it is still very possible to overtrain. Just listen to your body and you can never go wrong

Im up to a solid 25 now

Yea its just a booth but i still think its a big thing to do. I can get 225 21 times

whew! Slow buildup. How many can ya do now? Try for several more per week. And hope ya kick ass onstage! That's a uge accomplishment!

If he's really competing at the Arnold he better damn well be able to lift 225 thirty times.

Ive seen it in the muscle mags after the show. If you're currently at 21...try for 1-2 extra per week. Thats just frigging radd!
