Icing before pinning

I've been on TRT for about 5 months 100mg/ew test c now and recently started my first cycle of test c 500mg wk and I can't get past the needle prick. I have started icing the pin spot for about 30 seconds before I pin to eliminate to pain. Of course I swab before I pin and my question is other than being a wuss do you see any issues with icing before I pin?

Take a deep breath when you pin, then man the fuck up. Take a hot shower before you pin this is something kids don't pay mind to why should you. No pain no gain
If anything you should heat the sight and the needle so the juices flow easily and decreases the juice turning into crystals, if you want to numb the pain then smack yourself in the face and say rawwww!! Im a beast!! This needle has nothing on me!! Then hit your chest like a gorilla, Then smoothly inject

I just stick that mutha in there. Funny thing is, I have this apprehension about jabbing it quickly, which is something I've never been able to get over. Therefore, I go much slower than probably any of you do or would.

Lol. I don't shake at all. You'd think I'd be scare and/or nervous since I go so slow. But it doesn't bother me at all. It's just part of my technique I guess.
As for the glutes, I don't pin them myself. The ole lady does those. I almost always fuck something up. Too hard for me to aspirate and hold the barrel still. I pin my delts and quads. She does my glutes.
All these guys got you covered I will tell you if you decide to ice it will contract the muscle fibers very tight! Now you may not feel the pin prick but I promise you you will have pip like hell. The oil will rip and peel the muscle more then it does when not heated and the nerves will also be ripped!
No1You can also try heating the spot your going to inject in the shower for about 5 minutes with really hot water, everytime I do this the needle slides in like butter with no pain

I find that some spots are more sensitive than others try moving over a bit if the "prick" seems too "sharp"
also try "bouncing" the needle (without lifting off of the skin) it helps get past that moment of hesitation/resistance as you're about to penetrate the skin.
edit: as goth alluded to below as I was writing this post...
You're either sticking the needle in too slowly (just jab it Dahmer style), or you're using 10 guage needles from Quality Farm and Fleet. Make sure you're using 25s as stated by rusty below.

I just can't seem to jab it in like that. Afraid I will go right into a nerve. Or I just like the pain of it goin in slowly lol. Very first time I pinned the wife jabbed it in like she was trying to shank me, hurt like a mofo
LOL! 10 gauge. I'm using a 25x1 and am going quite slow as 7goth had pointed out. Next pin is tomorrow so I'll Dahmer style then.

By "jab", I mean kinda like a slight wrist-flick, as if you were dabbing a paint brush or releasing a dart.....just a slight jab. Usually that will get you into the third layerd of epidermis, and it easy pickens from there.
Yeah, once it's in I'm all good (twss). I'll adjust my method tomorrow and see how it goes.
