Concerns with PCT at 36
ad
Hey all,
I'm 36 and after quite a bit of research I'm considering starting my first cycle. I'm considering a 12 week cycle of test E, then follow up with PCT. I'm 6'3", 205 lbs, 14% body fat. My concerns with AAS at my age is whether or not I will be able to start my natural testosterone production up after I'm done, I've been told by some that once you hit 35-40 you can't turn it back on. I've been searching the sites but haven't gotten a definitive answer. Can someone clue me in, and offer any suggestions if you have them?

proper PCT at your age, (im a bit older) especially if it your first you will bounce back just fine. that is unless there is an underlying issue. just get bloods done first to see where you are and after to confirm your back to within normal range. after i pct even at my age my natty test is almost 500. and ive been cycling on and off for YEARS
Blood work prior to start...Blood work During & Blood work after...Best investment to learn your levels. At 36 if you are not trying to have kids your in a good starting point. Keep the mgs to a normal level and be consistent. If you are a rookie you may want to start with a sustanon blend and taper into a longer ester once you get into the 5-6th week. Combine that with some oral Turinabol (less sides)to use both the Inj and Oral stage as a beginner. Once you map out your goals in terms of MG per shot day and regimen. Then look to set up your pct after your typical 8-12 week cycle. Do not start your AAS without first obtaining your pct products. RESEARCH until your fingers bleed from searching Google. Not just forum opinions but factual data based on age, weight, diet goals etc... Your question was based on test and turning it back on. Research HCG, during and after cycle as well as aromasins like proviron, Clomid, Exemestane, Nolvadex, and others but make sure you realize that some estrogen is needed to allow the water weight to shuttle important building blocks to the muscle for growth.
I'm 38 and still bouncing back fine after cycles. I'm more cautios than I was 10 years ago, allow myself more time off and get blood tests more regularly. All depends on the individual.
No1There is no definitive answer, but you should get bloods before the cycle because if its already low T it will probably be lower when you come off and recover
AnonSo this may or may not be a definitive answer but it really depends on the user and how they used AAS and how good their PCT is. If you abuse AAS with huge doses for long periods of time the impact on ur HPTA will be much greater and much more difficult to reboot.
I know guys who PCT in their forties and older. But there comes a point where you make a decision not to guess anymore. Running blood tests regularly will give u the answer. Get pre cycle blood tests to see where ur natural levels are. Get the female hormone panel. It covers everything you will need to have a clear picture of ur current state. Taking mid cycle bloods will tell u how good ur gear is and post cycle bloods will tell u how shut down u are and will help you determine how big of a pct you will need. Taking more bloods 6 wks post pct will let u know how well u recovered.
Don't guess ever about ur HPTA and where it stands and never guess with pct. not when bloods will map out ur game plan for u.
waltrmexy what do you mean by how big of a pct he may need?
what are the different protocols you'd recommend?
AnonDifferent dosages and meds depend on the cycle. If ur running Tren and get shutdown hard adding in HCG to the pct is an option and so are things like carrying caber into pct or even doing a clomid frontload. Opting for a six week pct rather than a four week is another option. It all really depends on what was used and how it was used.
Thanks for the response, this was my PCT plan:
15 days after last injection of Test E:
Week 1 Nolvadex 40mg and Clomid 100mg a day
Week 2 Nolvadex 40mg and Clomid 100mg a day
Week 3 Nolvadex 20mg and Clomid 50mg a day
Week 4 Nolvadex 20mg and Clomid 50mg a day
I will definitely get blood work done, I wasn't going to but it seems smart. I guess my question is...if I see my natural test levels drop too far, what are my options? Sorry if these are amateur questions but I want to have my bases covered before I start, if I were 25 I wouldn't worry about it.
AnonIn order to properly assess that you'd have to wait until after a legit PCT attempt. If post pct bloods show a drop from ur pre cycle bloods there may be an issue. My first recommendation would be to attempt a slightly stronger second PCT using all of the proper medications in hopes of rebooting properly.
After another 6 wks retake some bloods. If you are still below normal and ur test comes back 300 and below it's time to talk to a doctor and not me:)
I've been on TRT for years now and as much as I like to think I know I can't prescribe you with TRT meds. Honestly I am glad u are still asking questions rather than not asking questions and starting a cycle without knowing what may or may not happen. Knowing all of the possible scenarios and their outcomes is basically ur job now. Asking as many questions as u can helps but actually typing those questions into the search engine goes a long way. Combining advice and research is going to help u a lot.
Send me a PM brother I can help u out if u need it.
Thanks for all the help, I appreciate it. I obviously still have some homework to do but you definitely have me sold on the importance of blood work.
