I do some work with local kids interested in robotics under the auspices of the local 4H. I was at a Board Meeting earlier this week where there was a broader collection of people, most involved with agriculture, farming, horticulture, etc. I got talking with one guy who owns an cattle ranch in the next county. Asked him about where to find good quality grass fed organic beef. "That's all I raise," he said. It seems though he sells the cows to processors and other farms that butcher and market them.

I said to him, "I have been at the farmers markets, and they are really expensive." So he says, "Of course they are, they tend to mark up the price 50 or more percent.
I told him that I am pretty serious about my diet and put quality protein high on my priorities. "Come on out to my farm and I will give you the best meat you ever tasted."

So I go out there and he give me a tour, and then we go to his private walk in freezer, and he starts loading packages of meat on me. I left with over 70 pounds and he says, "Let me know when you need more." SWEET.
