Struggling with PCT Depression

ad

I keep going on these roller coaster rides of emotions. I would have thought as each week passed I would feel better but it seems like it's the opposite for me. Physically I feel better for sure but mentally I'm worse. That in turn is affecting me physically when away from the gym. I'm becoming more and more depressed. This is week 4 starting today of PCT. I have zero motivation. I'm still able to workout regularly and with good intensity but everything after that sucks ass.

I'm losing my appetite, I have no energy to play with my daughter, I don't even want to and that kills me I want to be a great dad and she is everything to me (she is only 2) and when she asks me to play with her I can't get the excitement to do it. I try but it's just not there. The guilt associated with that hurts.

This is where the addict in me wants to say fuck it and get back on the gear but I know that won't solve anything long term so I'm doing my best to tough it out and stay strong. I handle my responsibility but this lack of feeling happy, and energetic is killing me.

My labs at week 3 are posted, everything seems to be on track to recovery so maybe it's the clomid? I've read that people have had similar issues. Maybe I just want to get back on so bad that I'll be miserable until I do. I hope that's not the case but fuck, this sucks.

Sorry, I needed to let that out. I try to explain to my wife but she doesnt understand.

Hey bro, I feel ya for sure. I get really depressed after a cycle and I have a similar lifestyle. My kids are older now, but what really worked for me when my kids were little is a jogging stroller. I would throw em in and take the dog too! Run that shit out, worked for me and I know I have had buds do the same and it works. Take the ol lady too, if she dont run take the kids then come back and put her ass in the stroller and do it some more. good luck bro!

I did a while back after my mom died but I worked it out. My diet is still on track even though I'm force feeding certain meals. Like I said, physically I feel like I'm where I should be. Overall in 3 weeks I've lost 6 lbs which was likely water.

I notice also that mornings are much worse for some reason. Maybe because I dose clomid/nolva at night?

i would highly recommend using toremifene citrate your next pct. i know that doesnt really help you with how you feel right now, but at least you may not ever have to feel like this again. almost all of the pct blues i experienced disappeared when i dropped nolva down to 10 mgs, the clomid didnt really bother me but i understand everyone reacts differently. i explained in detail all of pct sides and feelings that came with it to my boy who cycled for the first time right after me, only by then i had learned about torem and had him use it for his pct. in his exact words, everything shitty you described feeling i felt none of. he actually started gaining weight again almost immediately after pct and only lost 3 lbs to begin with. i have torem on hand for my pct and will for them all assuming my experience with it is just as good. ive honestly yet to hear of a negative one of any sort with torem in place of nolva. check it out man, hope none of us ever feel like shit during pct again!

Thanks everyone it does help knowing you've all been there at some point. I felt like a little bitch even writing it but needed to get it off my chest. I know I have no choice but to man up and keep moving forward and I have every intention of doing that. A quitter I am NOT.

I can at least be happy that I really haven't lost much strength and am getting stronger each week. I just hope my mental strength comes roaring back when I'm done with PCT next week.

I knew this would happen, I knew it was par for the course but to experience it is a very different thing. I would hope this would help prime me for the next off cycle. At least then I know what I can expect. I can also add in some peptides as suggested.

Again, thanks!

Is this your first cycle? I was going through the same thing after my first cycle. didn't help I had a lot of other things going on. make sure you are getting adequate sleep, go for walks, enjoy the fresh air, read the bible, things like that.

Hey I hate to sound like a bitch but fr me, if it gets bad bad we are out of season but I would like to try to get you intouch with our sports psych if you think it might help you.

Hey brother, you have to breath and clear your mind. I have coached allot of wrestlers that tell me they are going through the same thing gear or no gear. Its bitch. If its the adrenaline dump after season ends, or finishing up eligibility, or even a cycle. They always want it to be a physical or hormonal issue they can fix. Im not saying its not but as athletes we are better at working on our bodies than our minds. I dont know and im not judging but I helped a kid and he had the hard hard lows but he would use prepping for a tournament or a cycle as something to keep him focused, something to keep his mind from having to deal with other issues. As a cycle would start to wrap up he'd get anxious, depressed and very empty, knowing he had to go back to his other reality till till he could go again. The change in hormones and activity level didnt help either. He ended up taking a season off and it hurt him to do it but getting his mind stronger first ended up making every including recovery much easier.

As far as chemically, personally the only thing that helps me in those states is a small low low eca stack to push me through. Now awful for keeping gains, and not helping with the other its helped me with depression as long as im not using as the only means of dealing with it.

I read the responses below and there is some great advise in there- especially Ed's. I want to try to take a swing at what you may be able to manipulate drug-wise though. Do you split up your doses? Try breaking the clomid/nolva into two seperate, smaller doses. Have you considered reducing doses? Maybe from 20 to 10mg of Nolva or 50 to 25mg of clomid. In addition, where does your estrogen level and blood pressure sit? Personally, those two things cause some serious emotional issues with me (typically anger or the blues). Like Ed said, keep your head up and take it all on the chin. This was your choice and is your responsibility now. Most importantly, things will improve- it just takes time.

Ps: consider this part of the ride when thinking about running a subsequent cycle.

you could always use peptides to keep your appetite up. this is the time to put in a little extra effort, cause everything is a little harder. keep it up!

Hey brother a lot of guys will disagree or maybe they might try this but I blasted my pct with hcg and now I'm on clomid. I feel pretty damn good man. I haven't lost any strength and my nuts seem to be going strong. I have three daughters under 5 and I was worried about the very issues you are dealing with myself. It's too late to try hcg now but next go around I would try it on pct or even run it through your cycle. I hope things get better brother. Takes a big man to pour something like that out bro.

It gets better brother. Let the cajones heal and give them time. You'll be glad that you did. Maybe even give them some extra time like I have. You'll see that if done right they will regenerate. No need of giving up on the nuts this early in life. I had the same issues you had when I came off. Just keep lifting hard, watch your diet carefully, lift the big muscle groups hard and intensely with 90 second rest in between sets An you'll see your body start bringing back the natty. Keep your chin up brother. Force yourself to not make your family pay for it. Take it all on the chin. That's what real men do.
All my love, no homo.
Ed

It might be too late now, but one peptide I found extremely helpful to me in PCT is IGF-1 LR3. One vial of 1mg throughout PCT and everything is great. I hope it's just the clomid man, especially since all bloods are good. Since it is week 4, why not just go on with other PCT meds and drop the clomid Smile

NoPain's picture

I only have a week left I want to ride it out in hopes it's just the clomid. If I stop and it's not the clomid then I will regret not sticking it out. When you feel this way every minute seems like hours. Days drag. Especially at work.

I will def give the igf a try next time around.

I doubt a week of clomid will do much difference, esp. if you're running nolva already. But that is your call of course. I hope you feel better soon man, time passes by really quick it'll be all over soon Smile
