Anyone else like a bull in a China shop?
I don't know what it is but I cannot stop running into things. I've done this my whole life, I run into the corners of the wall with my shoulders, I run into door ways, I knock shit over constantly by turning into them or walking by them, keep your children away because I'll run into them too.
It's not like I just knock the corner of my arm or anything, no I go for the gold every time and hit that shit like Tiger Williams in a full on hockey check. I've even hit my attic and scraped down the side of my neck...who the hell does that?
Even when I was a skinny 170lb kid I did this, my shoulders, traps and even my chest all have scars from me running into things.
I ran into the wall last night, not two minutes later I walked into the same room and ran into the same damn wall going the opposite direction.
I'm not sure what the hell is wrong with me but as I got bigger it only got worse, now I run into everything.
The irony of this, I'm so sure footed that I can run across a narrow pole 40' in the air no problem, I can pretty much deflect any punch or kick thrown at me and counter it with precision.
If my sparring buddies were walls, I'd be fucked.

I don't generally knock things over by I always smack my shoulder off a wall. It's strange. The wall obviously isn't going anywhere. I can see it clear as day but when I turn the corner I always cut it too close and either whack it or I turn my body sideways to avoid it. The smart thing to do was take the turn a little wider. LOL. I guess I'm trying to save an extra step.
I see people doing this on a daily basis also. It's very strange. Someone needs to do some research on why we are all walking into walls. In 1000 years we'll look like those wind up toys that walk into a wall and keep bumping it as if one time we will get through it.
AnonSolution, I'm building my next house with rounded corners and double doors
You need pocket doors that that open automatically. Otherwise double doors will only make you open one and walk into the other lol
AnonUnless I become so beastly I run into them both.
I was thinking of the auto sliding doors but that may be a little extreme. I'll just move into mall of america and call it a day
I tell myself the walks move! I know it's not true... But when you've lived somewhere for years and walk in the door frame you gotta say something... (-:
I've gotten so used to it now it doesn't even slow me down any more except when I stand up into something and crack my head then it's a lot of bitching that fucking hurts
I'm never paying attention.. I've fell down steps, ran into walls, hit corners and slipped in the floor! I don't think I'm clumsy really, just don't pay attention like I should :-/
However.... I do not knock things over...
AnonYou should give it a try, it's liberating
AnonLOL
Same here bro! I work at heights and am very sure footed but I break shit and hit my head on shit and knock into tables, etc. I work on a rig and the pusher and crew call me wreck it Ralph thanks to that cartoon. One time I was wearing my work boots in the house and was walking around the corner into the kitchen as my wife, barefooted walked out. I stepped forward and caught her big toe mail with my boot. I looked down and damned if that toenail wasn't pointed straight North. Man was she pissed! I felt like shit too.
tread-mYuuuup...broke 2 glasses this week different days already. So running into shit and then my damn hands don't work well having big ass thumbs, constantly dropping things especially in the morning but I might attribute that to GH.
Funniest recently was at a restaurant. Walking to the table to be seated and against the wall they had one of those serving tray holders they bring to the table and pop open to sit the big tray with all your food on it? Anyway it was folded and probably only hanging out in the big ass main isle 2 or 3 inches. Waitor turned a corner and just before I did my toe caught that bitch and it shot across the floor like 20 feet and slid. Across the concrete stained floors into another dining room. As I turned the corner a guy cracked upo at a table and I just grinned like I didn't see a damn thing and kept walking!
SeaHawkIve always misjudged my right side. At least once a week ill bump someone or whack it on a shelf. I often pull my arm in the over compensate.
Anonweird given that you are a good fighter . My intiall reaction was a peripheral vision issue, but theres no way youd be blocking punches if that was the case.
I remember an interesting activity the instructors gave us during a racing school. The put us in cars that had the steering wheel on the left, and then put us in open wheel cars where you sit in the middle. We we asked to clip a small cone as we went through a turn. It was amazing how many people were either miles from the cone, or just ran it right over.
i always run into shit also! no kidding when i visit my mom, I brake something in her house everysingle time, about 2 years ago she started to move some stuff around when she knew i was visiting.
I hate to say it but I've hit my head on the car door opening the door.. ;-( I won't tell you about the rest but, my mother did call me "Grace" growing up ... I don't think she was making a religious reference either ;s
I had a girl who would would close the door on her hair as she was getting into the car. She was the ultimate definition of "blonde" lol
I should have been a gentleman and opened the door for her (and closed)... ahahah she needs a little guidance
Alright.. 1. I've done this
2. I've also roll it up in the window
3. I've even zipped it in my coat
This shit hurts too btw!
well I guess the real issue is how long was her hair because if it was short I d have way more of a problem with it..
tread-mit was mainly her handlebar moustache...German Gurl on Russian juice if I remember. : (
Her hair was up
Anonwow, I feel better about myself
I'm always throwing my shoulders into corners of walls...I always thought maybe there was something wrong with me ;) guess I'm not the only one with this problem. Hurts like a mofo at times
edit: doorways are problematic as well
